Married women shouldn’t vote. As the head of the household husbands should vote for the family. Also it seems like an act of defiance to vote against your husband. I think single women should still have the right to vote though.

Feminism is a curse, I am not a petulant child that my husband has to throw treats at to keep quiet. Furthermore, I voluntarily chose to place myself under his headship, so if I don't like it, that's a me problem, not a him problem. Also, women's suffrage was the end of our Republic. I would gladly vote to take my vote away.

Please pray for me, brothers and sisters. I’m a working mom of a toddler and baby to help my wonderful husband pay essential bills and health insurance. I’ve reduced my hours to part time since having children, but every time leaving my children to work feels like tearing my heart out of my body. I very badly want to homeschool when my children are school age. (I used to teach public school, which works for some and fails many) I usually avoid watching Pints episodes that feature women (no matter how wonderful the woman!) because the topic of staying at home as a mother comes up, and I tend to spiral into despair. It came up in this episode, which I understand. It’s an important topic. Prayers appreciated.

My wife and I had two young children at 23 and she was working as a nurse to support us. The money was good but she was unhappy. 8 years later, she has been home with our now 5 children and I have accrued hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt attending medical school. Each year, we spend every last dollar in order to live. We have moved 8 times. I’m still at least 3 to 7 years away from being finished with medical training as a doctor-the poverty isn’t going anywhere soon. But it has been the right decision. God has provided no extra, but our minimum needs have been met for shelter and food. Most importantly, our lives are more well ordered as a family. It is worth it to rely on God as a child and embrace poverty if it can order your family. I have friends driving Porsches and the American materialistic lifestyle and feel the temptation. I encourage you to assess what the basic financial needs are so that your heart can be at peace and your children happy. God bless

My heart goes out to you, what an honest comment. I will keep this in my prayers. Just know that God wants the best for your children even more than you do and He will work your situation out for His greater glory. Your kids are lucky they have a mother who cares so deeply about them. They can't go too far wrong when they have that foundation.

This patting is usually very quick, light, avoids some private areas and slightly uncomfortable for both sides (although I guess it depends on the security employees), and it's done as soon as it's finished. In case of body scans, you can see the body, outlines of naked parts. And as it's digital, it shouldn't but could be saved and stored... I can see John Henry's logic here. No Lol.

So we don’t hear the “you’re not the wife you should be, you should be better, etc.” because that’s not how we get encouraged and pumped up. I do think that more talk about being a better mother and wife is in order at Christian women’s conferences. But we also get that all the time from the more traditional secular world. Especially about being a better wife. I’m not the wife and mom I want to be, and I’m trying to be better every day, by the grace of God.

@@SonsOfTitans positively framed encouragement. Like “try this” or “say this” instead of a bunch of negative rules (I.e. don’t, shouldn’t, can’t). Also hearing good reports from women who’ve implemented certain habits or changed their frame of mind about particular things. That at least helps me. Again, we do get a ton of stuff about being a better wife thrown at us from the secular world. I’m not saying it’s a bad thing, but I know I’m inundated with podcasts, books, articles, etc. on that topic on a weekly basis. Hopefully I’ve answered that well, as the question was a bit vague.🙂

I only heard a bit of the episode, but to answer your question, and please know it's with love, I believe we got the Bible, which has the historically reliable documents The Gospels, from the Church, and the Church precedes the New Testament, and through the history of the popes, the Catholic Church can be traced back to Jesus establishing it as His Church, and even before that, when God raised up the people of Israel, that was the community. The Bible was not read in isolation. They would read the Bible with and through the community. And just like as Christians for 2,000 years, we read the Bible with and through the Church, the lens of the interpretation of the Magisterium which is the teaching office of the Church and the motherly role of the Church. And something like praying the Rosary is not something the Magisterium created, it was something people voluntarily started to do, and it eventually put its blessing on it. I pray for purity and chastity for us all every day in my Rosary. I believe Jesus is the one mediator, and everything flows through Him. He is the center of all things, and in Him, all things came to be. There is instrumental causality that God loves to use amongst His created universe. The power of intercessory prayer, and the power of the intercession of the saints is about that. Jesus Christ is the mediator, and I believe our Blessed Mother Mary can lead us to Him. She prays for us on our way to Him. When I refer to Mary as my mother, please know I am not taking away respect due to my one and only God, Lord Jesus Christ. I believe loving people Jesus loves helps us love Him more, so the more I love Mary, the more I love God, and Jesus gave Mary to us as our mother on the Cross. John 19: 26-27 When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, “Woman, behold, your son.” Then he said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother.” And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. Mother Mary, the first Christian with her choice to say "yes" to my one and only God's will, I believe she is the number 1 model for sainthood for both men and women. She did God's will perfectly in every respect from the moment of her conception, listening to every single one of His commands. Her choice to say "yes" Luke 1:38 Mary said, “Behold, I am the handmaid of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word.” Then the angel departed from her. to God's will ushered in salvation for the world, and she did so knowing the sacrifices and sufferings that would result from her decision, but, humbly, accepted the privilege of containing the God of the Universe her womb, and then becoming Jesus' most intimate friend, companion, and greatest consolation while on Earth. She was the devil's ultimate humiliation! I believe God is the King of the universe, having all power of the universe, but God chose Our Lady, a humble lowly woman the privilege of crushing the head of the devil. Mary is not God, but she is a saint, and being that she is with Jesus in Heaven, I ask for her intercession to our Lord (and for sake of brevity, I'll say I "pray to Mary"), similar to how I'd ask people to pray for me (please do! I'm a broken sinner in need of many prayers), but I trust she is a saint in Heaven so I believe it is helpful to ask for her help, especially being so close to her Son. There is only one God. He is the source of all good. He is Goodness. He is Love! “This is the wonderful truth, my dear friends: the Word, which became flesh two thousand years ago, is present today in the Eucharist.” “In the Sacred Heart every treasure of wisdom and knowledge is hidden. In that Divine Heart beats God’s infinite love for everyone, for each one of us individually.” -St. John Paul II He's one of the popes who condemned socialism besides Pope Leo XIII, Pope Pius X, Pope Pius XI, and Pope John XIII, and this influences my politics: The teaching of the Church has elaborated the principle of subsidiarity, according to which a community of a higher order should not interfere in the internal life of a community of a lower order, depriving the latter of its functions, but rather should support it in case of need and help to co-ordinate its activity with the activities of the rest of society, always with a view to the common good. Subsidiarity= Basically, if a thing can be done at a more local level, it should be left to that local level to do it, and the higher levels should not subvert the authority of that local level. The principle of subsidiarity is opposed to all forms of collectivism. It sets limits for state intervention. Catholics are opposed to all forms of collectivism such as communism and socialism. They're prohibited, and Catholics can't advocate for them because they subvert the human dignity that belongs to every individual and goes against the principle of subsidiarity. Hope that answered your question, and hope you and your family are have a light-filled peaceful joyful 4th celebration tomorrow! 🇺🇸

Many North Africans, Middle Eastern and Chinese. Muslim gangs are increasingly controlling the immigration and of the South & Central Americans, many criminals and gang members.

Defining modesty as dressing in accordance with others doesn’t always work: there was a time when I had to go to Mass at a parish other than my home parish. Not only was this a Novus Ordo, but it was all Novus and no Ordo. I didn’t know it was the way that it was, and I put on my suit and went. I was the only person in the building not in jeans...well, the priest may not have been in jeans, but I'm not 100% certain about that. I actually left that building, turned to my wife, and said, "If that had been our introduction to the Church, we would have remained Protestant."

I have learned something as I always do from @PintsWithAquinas which I appreciate but I was unable to finish this episode. I agree that people are often cuddled instead of corrected in present times but if we’ve fallen too far left let’s not make the mistake of falling too far right. Using the terms ‘whore, slut, disgusting bodies’ isn’t just unkind but no saint ever changed anyone by describing them as such. We are called to be saints, to ascribe to one another the dignity conferred to us even when we don’t act as such or represent ourselves as such. Yes, we can be righteously angry guided by love. Even when Jesus reprimanded the Pharisee, he still called out to them with love. He said we shouldn’t even call a brother ‘fool’. I couldn’t finish this because I know there is more to you, you are not perfect but I can’t help but be disappointed. I don’t know if you notice that your words devalue this people to just their bodies, their clothes and strips them of the person. I learned to value the person more from your series on theology of the body. I truly do not believe you would talk like this in front of mother Natalia. If you honestly would, and she is cool with this, then I’ll pray about this and change my position if necessary.

@Matt_Fradd this episode revealed a pretty ugly side of you and your guest, unfortunately. I don’t understand how you can reconcile describing human bodies as “disgusting” (I.e. overweight women shouldn’t wear shorts, but modest shorts are fine for fit/attractive women) with striving to be Christ-like. Spending time entertaining, reflecting on, and airing these (what should be private, fleeting, and suppressed) thoughts on a public forum is neither becoming nor helpful. As human beings of course we have thoughts about other people’s appearances and relative attractiveness constantly on a day to day basis, but we should do our best to take the high road and fight against these thoughts and recognize that these opinions can often be detrimental in respecting the soul and human dignity of that child of God as well as harmful to our our soul. As a Catholic woman I expect a masculine man of God to recognize his own predispositions as a human man to judge women based on their attractiveness, but to actively fight against these proclivities as they are not respectful to the dignity of women. There is a problem with young “based” Catholic bachelors feeling justified in giving physical attraction too much weight (of course it is important somewhat) not only in seeking a partner but also in their judgement of the relative goodness of the women around them, and I hate that Pints with Acquinas seems to be feeding into this phenomenon. You have a beautiful wife. Leave other women alone, please.
