    Speeding up to prevent a pass is just as dangerous as tailgating and using the right lane to pass

  • @dragonfliesnh4204

    @dragonfliesnh4204

    Ай бұрын

    Many places, especially rural areas, there are no passing zones and no place for people to pull over to let tailgaters pass. It doesn't matter if you slow down, speed up or stay at the same speed, they won't back off. Sometimes I hope something is in the road so I have a reason to quickly brake and if they hit me, they would be responsible. I usually go 5mph over the speed limit and on some highways I'm going over 10, but people will keep passing me. The police are never around when these things happen...

THEY would be completely at fault for hitting you. I NEVER said that I would deliberately hit the brakes to make it so they would crash into me and cause me or them to get hit and severely hurt. But if I had to hit the brakes to avoid getting into an accident and they hit me, maybe they would stop tailgating in the future and avoid hitting and injuring someone else.

    My sister received a male and female kitten from our grandmother. Both me and my grandmother told my sister to spay the female kitten or neuter the male kitten. She didn't head our advice. The male and female kittens grew up into cats and had multiple litters while still practically being kittens themselves. Said male and female cats were given to separate families who hopefully spayed/neutered them. As for their kittens, all but two (male kittens named Simba and Zuma) were given to other families. I learned a lesson that day: Sometimes, as much as you love someone, you have to let them learn a lesson the hard way because trying to teach them the lesson the easy way is like trying to stop a hurricane from destroying your home by screaming at it.

    To the story at 13 minutes in, we can't entirely blame the students who get this mindset. Highschools very literally indoctrinates the students, and *massively* over exaggerate the importance of high school. In a way people like this valedictorian who ended up as a target cashier are victims of the education system. It doesn't prepare us to be adults, it trains us to be punctual, and place a high importance on being the best in the school, or employee of the month, whatever. This girl was convinced that title would get her places in life, and might've been overly arrogant about it but I mean, she was just lied to all her life.

Either she realized that college was much harder than she thought, she got caught up in the partying, or maybe she got expelled for cheating (OP mentioned she paid for some essays from their friend in HS, so she may have tried to do that in college, too).

    I only travel home for funerals because of the cost. It's the only time I catch up with family members these days. In my culture, the family of the deceased provides the food & workers. I always volunteer to work in the kitchen. Local people usually come to help out. It's a small community & we are all related. A guy who was a stranger to me but married to a local girl was always there. He went out of his way to make sure I knew I wasn't welcome there. He never helped with any of the work. He just hung around. I ignored him & did the job. My brother told me the guy tried to start a fight with him at a party the night of the funeral.When that didn't work, the guy instead beat up a drunk guy outside. I heard about a murder in my hometown on the National news & was concerned because we're all related. But it turns out it wasn't a relative it was that guy that was murdered. I couldn't believe it.

    I used to work at 2014 so, It was during the peak of the spice (K2) epidemic. This girl I used to work with would regularly come in high off her rocker and try to work until it wore off enough for her to fucking think. Well, we have this rethermalizer thing. It's basically a big ass water warmer that heats up water to just below boiling and we use it to reheat the meat. She was put on restock duty when she came in so, she was taking out the racks from this thing and cutting open the meat bags to empty into pans. She dropped the scissors right into the water and without thinking, she straight up stuck her hand into the water to grab the scissors. It took her at least a second or two to register the pain and by then, her had was scaled. It was written off as an accident and she managed to keep her job but, she didn't come in high anymore.
