    When she said pride and prejudice I gasped. Thats my favourite book and realising that these people are just the same as us. Why does the world treat them less or as if they are used to it. They are just used to it as you and I to tge sounds of bombs, which is not used to it at all. They have mental health, dreams and lively hoods taken away from them. And when she said I am not a refugee, I was left in shock. They dont desserve it. They are humans fully capable of intellectual discussions and contributions to the world with a rich history.

    that really fits your character. Considering how you took all this time to realize brown people are capable of intellectual discussions and not innately born as refugees, I would guess you are kinda slow perceiving evolution (and experiencing it as well hehe). Speaking as an arab, your comment comes across as condescending and slow. Good luck on your studies, hope your realize other ethnicities have feelings and deserve human rights before you hit your 90s

    No dreams would be taken away tho if Hamas did not massacre 1200 innocent civilians for no apparent reason, Then proceeded to say they want to destroy Israel and all Jews. by that pretty much forcing Israel to try to end Hamas.

    I'm Kurd and it's so sad for me war happens, I'm so sick of this ridiculous killings in our middle east. As a Kurdistani I know how is it wishing your country. I wanna you know that we are with you dear Palestine, we stand with you and I'm so shocked you say people mostly support Israel! That's not true, not Muslimun but humanity lovers are feeling the same thing and the history never forgets. Muslims are not terrorists and we do not support terrorists. Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims or Kurdish people are just normal humans like others. When I think about those happy faces, laughing and... but now it's not like, how it should be, I really get upset! سڵاو لە فەڵەستین. هەر بژی!

    Hi, friend. I am writing to you from very far away, I am from South America, from Uruguay. A small country between Argentina and Brazil.I have always felt admiration for Muslim culture and religion.It hurts me that on my continent very little is known about Muslim culture, since our countries are influenced by the West (USA and Europe). However, I have always tried to learn on my own and get to know the culture and reality of the Middle East and the Arab and Muslim world.Today I must tell you that I don't understand many things. Today I feel enormous contempt for humanity. I cannot understand that they destroy the Palestinian people. Nobody deserves what they are suffering. I will not stop saying it, I feel disgust for the State of Israel But it is also difficult for me to understand that no one helps the Palestinian people more. It is their land, it is their place. And they are killing them in front of everyone.I understand that a generalized war would be much worse. But there should be a gigantic wave of aid to Gaza. There should be intense political discussions to impose a ceasefire It is difficult for me to see Arab countries continue their usual lives while Israel kills Palestinians and destroys their land and culture.I no longer believe in humanity. Bisan is an example of Muslim culture and education and today she is surrounded by bombs and dead people in the rubble of her country. I can't accept that.They are human beings like me.

    The best episode so far - because it deals with such an interesting subject. More of the same please! Thank you!! I liked listening to everybody - but please, please ask all interviewees to speak more slowly - even if they love the topic and thus speak swiftly and enthusiastically. I cannot read in Arabic (maybe one day??), unfortunately, but here is a list of some of the books which I have read and especially remember, written in Arabic and translated from Arabic / French or written in English: The Sheltered Quarter: A Tale of a Boyhood in Mecca by Hamza Bogary (Translated from Arabic by Kenny and Reed) The Qadi and the Fortune Teller by Nabil Saleh The Hostage by Zayd Mutee' Dammaj translated from Arabic by Jayyusi and Tingley The Silence of My Father by Alexander Najjar translated from French by Wilson A World I Loved by Wadad Makdisi Cortas

    Hey, could you guys make videos in MSA (Modern standard arabic/fus ha) ?

  • @BagdagulMirzali

    @BagdagulMirzali

    It is not such a colloquial language I think it's quite hard. When I was interested in Fusha/MSA I used to watch "Khasu Arabic". As I remember he has some videos where he has conversation with people in MSA. The author is a teacher of Arabic Language from Chechenia, so he has two channels - English and Russian. I will add titles of videos in Arabic later.

    Few Arabs are comfortable speaking fusha and even in more formal situations speak a mix of fusha and their native dialect For fusha you have to read and listen to books at the same time since as I’m sure you’re aware most written works don’t include the full tashkeel Aljazeera is a good news station for very pure usage of fusha outside of interviews and podcasts where people may speak more naturally since you have to understand that no Arab speaks fusha as their native tongue despite understanding it It’s annoying if you want to focus on msa like I do but it’s not really anyone’s fault it’s just how it is

    ما أحلي أن ترا اغبياءً مُونساقون بما يُدعي بـ الغرب، من كُتُبٍ و روايات، ويتركون ما هو ألذَ وطاب، الكُتب التي تحمل إرث الفكر الإسلامي العربي، دعهُم يتواعقون فيما يدعون إليه من كُتُبٍ غربيه، لن تفيدهُم، بل ستستنزِف مِنهُم عروبيتِهِم من كلماتٍ عربيه، وفِكر أسلامي، ما إستزادوا بشئ ولكن قلوا بكثير. Translation to those westerns: It is a delight to behold the ignorant ones who are enchanted by the so-called West, with its books and stories, and forsake what is more delectable and agreeable, the books that bear the heritage of Arab-Islamic wisdom. Let them be deceived by what they name Western books, which will bring them no good, but will sap their Arab identity from Arabic expressions and Islamic ideas. They have gained nothing but lost much.
