@@laurenc9458 As someone with both Canadian and US citizenship, what you’re saying is wrong. In Canada people definitely wait longer for elective and essential procedures but you aren’t turned away at the hospital. Additionally, working class people who don’t qualify for Medicaid or Medicare, but also can’t afford private health insurance don’t have to sell their cars, go into debilitating debt, and start ‘gofundmes’ when they get cancer simply because they can’t afford private treatment.

I've heard of a kind of cat food that's supposed to help with that... Idk, it's not a perfect fix, but customers who purchase it from me swear by it so maybe it can help a smidgen? mrp, I just hope everyone feels better!!

Yes it's pretty great! You do feel cared for here, like you don't have to pay for people to care about your health. The only thing that kinda sucks is if it isn't an emergency, your gonna be waiting a bit for a walk in. Like 2 hours or so, but appointments are on time.

My first thought and a lay one is : she's not eating right. I've seen these metabolic changes in many vegans or vegetarians due to a lack of something in their diets. I'm not saying that you don't eat right as a vegetarian or vegan but I've just seen that a lot. Idk. But I think the matter concerns her food for sure

@@zeuna Cris is neither vegan not vegetarian, and has been eating healthy for quite a few years. I highly doubt that her diet is the issue.

My mom did this, looked exactly the same. It took a year to figure it out. Ended up being an allergic reaction to the flea medication that she gave her cat.

Eating overnight oats with cat in my lap and puffy angry eyelids and then I see this comment 🫠 I think cat allergies would impact more skin and at the very least it would be hands and eyes, suggesting you transferred the allergen accidentally. If the allergen were idk let’s say a cleaning product that would make sense but cat fur and dander is EVERYWHERE so my thinking is the reaction would be everywhere too 🧐 nd breathing as well. I was freaking out bout the same. They reassured me I could ditch the oats I suppose but cats?! Never. I would accept my fate and maybe get a few more while I’m at it and just walk around slow bumping into things and my trail of kitties behind me lol A sight for sore eyes I’m sure 🤣😂🤣 I need to be stopped.

As a tea enthusiast myself (or, more accurately, person who is obsessed with teaaaa) there's many sorts of tea so it wouldn't be that problematic. yes, it would be sad never to drink that sort of tea such as rooisbush or maybe it's camomile but I don't think that's it because she drinks tea all the time and last time it happened was 3 years ago :)

Not medical advice, just a funny rash story: My husband had a mysterious horrible rash for 4 years. He saw doctors, had tests, took medications, switched products etc etc. nothing worked and no one could pinpoint what was wrong. We were joking around and I compared him to the painting 'The Death of Marat' because he was constantly taking baths to alleviate his itching. I looked up the wiki page to show him the painting and read that Marat was believed to have had Dermatitis Herpetiformis (a super rare gluten sensitivity/autoimmune disorder). I read the symptoms and he literally had every single one. He started an extreme gluten free diet and his rash went away within a few days and he hasn't had an issue since. I'm still amazed that my teasing lead to a diagnosis, he is just happy his rash is gone.

I had this happen to me. It lasted about a week and just went away. The skin was messed up for a while, but I could see it was just remnants off the swelling. It just went away. No idea what caused it, but whatever it was, it hasn't happened again. It was horrible, though

It actually makes me really happy to see someone being so honest and open and not afraid during something like this. It's really encouraging. Personally, I'm very emotional but I have eczema so I've forced myself to not cry a lot because my face breaks out so awfully. This is so encouraging. I hope you find out the cause so it can be treated for you. Please keep being the amazing person you are and know we care about you

As someone who waited years for a diagnosis on a disease that significantly impacted my life (and still does, diagnoses don’t always come with an immediate cure), particularly in terms of fatigue and immune system, you are strong Cristine :) I hope you get some more insight on your health issues soon

I had a bad allergic reaction to my friend's super sweet cat once and my eyes swelled shut and I was so embarrassed. I think it is good you're able to show people hey, this is happening. Sometimes people have to go to the doctor a million times and they still aren't sure. Wishing you all the best.

literally everything in 2020 has SUCKED so far.. my eyes also got like this, i started getting pollen allergies and a eczema outburst started in all of my body (last time was ten years ago), me and all of the world lost our jobs due to a fucking pandemic, my best friend's dad got cancer (he's a doctor btw, so karma apparently hit the wrong person), my boyfriends dad almost became blind, my cat died yesterday.. all in these past six months

Just wanna say to you and Ben as well Thank you for your honesty and proof of the facts as well, PLEASE keep up the good work!

I have extremely sensitive skin and i’m super allergic to the vast majority of skin care products so I use the Vanicream products! they are VERY hypoallergenic and contain like 5 ingredients. i know you aren’t supposed to use a cleanser on your face but i know the moisturizer helps cool my skin when it flares up. and i often have a rash around my eyes like that but mine is eyelid dermatitis. i hope you get it figured out soon 🥺

Oh crap. I had the same thing happen to me a few years ago! Didn’t get to the point of swelling like that but it was terrible! Please keep updating on this for those of us who have been through something similar

My mum had a terrible flare up like this, and we ended up finding out it was due to a specific type of pollen found in a tree just outside our back garden

my mom had that when she was younger! turns out she was allergic to the tree outside of her room, and she had specifically picked that room when they moved because she liked the tree in her window lol

My initial thought was " oh no, so many trips to the doctor that was probably so expensive😭" Then I remembered Cristine is Canadian and has that sweet sweet healthcare system. Hope things get better soon!!!

Caylin Williams I never had an allergic reaction to cats but when I got one, after a month a started swelling up... Went to the doctor and she told me that I became allergic to cats.

I have atopic skin so stuff like that happens to me all the time. This summer i had the biggest flare up that i ever experienced and it was so bad, i really feel you. I felt like my whole face was one huge red pillow that i couldnt get rid off. And the pain, it somehow feels even worse than it looks. after 20 years of dermatologic problems i have one advise: dont stress out! Stress is the biggest factor in dermatologic problems, so you have to keep calm ever if you feel like shit. Its already great that you are not ashamed! Dont worry, you’ll be fine!

PLEASE READ: I had a bad mysterious reaction to nickel in makeup that required steroids and then I found out that nickel is in certain foods, especially tea (which I drink a ton of like you do), and that metal tea kettles can leach allergenic metals into your water. I took a break from tea and switched to an all glass kettle and it made my reaction go away. Sorry for posting, it was just really hellish figuring it out.

Unlike many of the people sharing or trying to diagnosis what’s wrong with Cristine...THIS might actually be part of it. I just wish she had said WHICH metals she was allergic to. (Not only for this reason but for people who send her stuff in the mail as well.) I’m sensitive to certain metals but only in piercings. I’ve never had a reaction (so far) from any metal just laying on my skin like in necklaces/bracelets. But I know it could progress to that. I’m also very careful about the pots & pans we use as those can leech certain metals into your food as well. And when I changed them all out it DID make a positive difference in my GI issues. I’m glad you were able to figure out the cause of your issues!! I hope Cristine saw this or another post mentioning it. Because I don’t think it’s something many drs would think of!😕

Woah! I’m super allergic to nickel, I would have horrible rashes for the nickel in the buckle of my pants and any fashion jewelry or watches. I’m going to have to keep an eye out for makeup that has nickel in them now, thanks for the tip!

I have a couple different health issues that are really dragging on with diagnosis and treatment so i definitely appreciate seeing this. Its nice that you're so open with this. This shit is just so draining and annoying and its nice to know that im not the only one. I mean obviously im not. But its nice to hear it from someone i look up to so much.

NSAIDs. AINES is spanish.

This similar thing happened to a couple of my friends, eczema, it’s something they have to maintain and properly moisturize. Dunno if you’ve already considered that but best wishes on speedy recovery!

I'm so sorry you're going through this, it sounds miserable. I hope you have good doctors who listen to you and get some answers soon. I've been a medical mystery before (kinda still am, welcome to diagnostic limbo Cristine!) and it's really hard not just being sick but also not knowing why. Your video made me tear up a little because I can relate to this, even if I haven't been through the same exact thing. Again, I hope answers are swift and definitive, or at the very least causes can get narrowed down.

Hyperactive Cristine on steroids is literally the cutest thing ever. - - - And as a 17 y/o girl with very severe chronic hives, I can personally attest to the fact that finding the cause(s) of problems like this is a long (very, very, VERY long😅), and often inconclusive process. And that being on steroids for long periods of time SUCKS lol. All those symptoms are REAL y'all, and they ain't fun.
