SERIOUS QUESTION guys; As a one man channel, making this 5 minute video is a week long work with the animation, research, shooting, editing etc. It's the time I could have spent with my family and dogs. I've got to buy a laptop for personal reasons and am trying to find quality reviews from all sorts of reviewers. This isn't the type of content I normally watch, but I appreciated your insight into the laptop. In general its harder to find more qualitative rather than quantitative reviews of laptops, so your video was very refreshing in that sense. All in all it was a highly enjoyable and informative watch for me. Only you can decide how badly you want to do youtube, and getting 17k videos is no small feat. I hope you find the right balance between your passion and your family. :)

The laptop is fine with the design. I don't mind the wobble issue anymore. I'm getting 6.5 hours battery life when using Chrome or doing programming stuff. I never game on battery power, use cable power when gaming!!! Currently I'm encountering this issues: 1.Strange SSD health degradation(Hard drive sentinel shows 45% health, but CrystalDiskInfo shows 100% health and windows cmd shows OK status and no errors found) 2.Stuck pixel on the top right corner(Maybe fixable, but not sure) 3.When closing the lid is not touching the back end(where the usb ports are placed/maybe delivery issue, which I didn't saw when the laptop came) Overall I'm happy with my Victus, but HP firmware/BIOS/software is shit + Windows 11 is buggy on this model. I recommend staying on Windows 10 and disabling auto-updates to prevent from stuck and bricking issues. HP Victus configuration: 5800H/RTX 3050 Ti 4GB/16GB 3200MHZ/1TB M.2

what if it comes pre installed with Windows 11?
Honest review, I have been using the laptop for almost 3 months now and use it daily. And I even have a possible comparison. So, let's get started: My laptop: HP Victus 16" with 144Hz display, R5 5600H, 3050 Ti, 16GB RAM, 240GB + 512GB SSD My girlfriend's laptop: Asus Vivobook Pro 15 OLED, i5-11300H, 8GB RAM, 1650 Max-Q, 512GB SSD I think the opportunity to compare these two is great, since the Victus and Vivobook can do similar things, but are so different and I want to show for who the Victus really is for. Display: Nothing beats the 15.6" OLED of the VivoBook. The colors are brilliant. I went with the Victus for the 144Hz display. The 16" was a bit more important to me. Of course, every time I see the OLED, I weep for the fact that the Victus has a responsive but darker display, but I find the 16" with its matte surface much more comfortable for programming and gaming. The screen wobble is almost not noticeable for me; especially when the laptop is on a solid surface. And keep in mind; I'm programming. I wouldn't run it on my lap (if for no other reason than it would block the fans underneath). My girlfriend is a designer, spends a lot of time in Lightroom or even Illustrator. I, on the other hand, spend more time in a dark theme in Visual Studio Code. She would not be happy with the Victus, the color accuracy is just missing unfortunately. I wouldn't be happy with the OLED, because something would eventually burn in... Performance (idle + gaming): The Victus has, due to the description as "gaming laptop", the clearly better cooling. I adjusted both laptops accordingly in Windows power-saving mode (the AMD processor offers significantly more possibilities to adjust the processor performance). The Victus idles at 29 to 32 degrees. The VivoBook idles between 34-38. The power supply is usually connected when both are gaming. I have never exceeded 70 degrees with the RTX 3050 Ti, mostly medium to high (sometimes ultra) settings on FHD. The VivoBook, on the other hand, is about 80 degrees at the same settings. I tested casual games, but also more intensive ones. FIFA22, Sonic Generations, The Division, The Sims 4, Destiny 2 or the new Stray. 60+fps is easily possible here. The RTX 3050 is bored in terms of temperature and usage, while the 1650 tends to get a bit warmer despite the Max Q design. Performance (Workstation / Creation): The reduction of the compile time of my apps/programs was particularly important for me. The R5 5600H works great here. It is really fun to code with it. And decreases the compile time amazingly. Davinci Resolve and FL Studio are also fun to use. Due to the lack of color fidelity, however, I usually switch to an external monitor. For editing or editing on the go, however, the integrated display is also top. In contrast to the Victus, the VivoBook shows its full power here. The colors make it really fun to work here. Nevertheless, the VivoBook tends to run with the fan. And that is already the case when compiling a relatively simple application. Even though the temperatures remain low in comparison, the Victus simply outshines the VivoBook with its better cooling. Battery life: Always different. It definitely depends on the task. Due to the processor optimization via the power-saving mode, I am good with 6 to sometimes 7 hours. But the VivoBook also goes in that direction. Gaming on battery is a no-go for me anyway. Therefore, unfortunately not tested. When I am on the road coding with resource-intensive applications, I usually plug in the power supply after 4:30 to 5 hours. Keyboard: I had a $299 Vivobook before the Victus. Still had to get used to the Asus keyboards for a long time, I don't miss them. For work reasons, we only work with HP anyway, which is why the Victus keyboard is much more comfortable for me to code on. The only thing that is different in the German layout is the keys. A small snippet which is available on Shortcut (Shift Shift) makes my work in C/C++ easier. Both laptops have keyboard illumination. Whereby the Victus can only be on or off. The Vivobook can still dim, I miss a bit. Upgrade options: Here, the VivoBook loses out completely, which is why I am not at all sorry about the available OLED. The Victus offers two M2 slots & the possibility to upgrade the RAM. The VivoBook has exactly one M2 slot. RAM is soldered. And the Victus can hold up to 64GB of RAM. I will be upgrading to 32GB shortly as well. Design: For me, both are on par here. What I find pretty cool, and was one of the reasons for buying the Victus, is that it is marketed as a gaming laptop, but it does not look like one. The hinge is unfortunately not continuous, but I can live with that. It can be opened super with one hand. The VivoBook is so light that it sometimes has to be opened with two hands. Due to the cooling system and the size, the Victus is much heavier, but I can still carry it around with one arm open. The VivoBook, on the other hand, is so light that I sometimes think it slips out of my hand. Conclusion: I got both laptops on offer. The Victus for 749EUR and the VivoBook for 650EUR. And what can I say? Nothing similar comes close for the offer prices. And if you have a budget up to 800EUR, don't be afraid to get one of the two on sale. Which one? You have to decide for yourself and what you can live with. Everyone has to make compromises in this price category. A not so colorful display and a bit of screen wobble can quickly become irrelevant, though, if it not only increases your productivity but also saves valuable time in intensive tasks. And you will always make compromises on the opposite side as well. An OLED with massive colors, no screen wobble, but a not so sophisticated cooling system and few upgrade options. I love the Victus and would not want to miss it in everyday use. And that despite the fact that my company provides me with an HP Z-Book with much more power. My girlfriend, on the other hand, wouldn't want to miss her VivoBook. As a casual gamer and designer, there's nothing better than colors. For me, there is nothing better than a workstation-grade laptop I can also game with that has replaced my desktop PC.

I really appreciate your review, I just got one question about the screens, does your Victus came with the 100% sRGB or it's a version with a lower sRGB percentage?
This laptop is honestly so good. it's been able to get the job done all the time, i recommend getting the 16GB ram version or just get it installed from a local store and then upgrade the display if you want, for me i personally enjoy the default factory display. It's a gaming laptop so of course without power it will perform significantly less but not too low that you cannot use it, its still good. but you'd always be powering it up anyway even outdoors. I never noticed screen wobble on my 16' Keyboard arrow finally have been improved, but the Omen KB arrows are better. I came here to see if your battery is as bad as mine. **They advertised battery life 8 hours... there is no way this machine could last 8 hours, not even when new.** Interestingly, the RTX 3050 Ti can be disabled in Device Manager - I wonder if that saves battery usage. A nice part about this latpop is that it has 2 graphics card/gpu.

As for the battery life mine gives me around 7 hrs on light use with battery saver plan and 5hrs on balanced. Pretty good from a gaming laptop
I like the look. It's not vulgar as most of the gaming laptops.
Three things that I noticed with this Victus that ended up being a dealbreaker with me (I ended up selling it after just a few months): * The body actually flexes! So this actually causes issues with the touchpad if you are resting this laptop on your lap or bed, so the computer sometimes will not be able to click or phantom clicks from the flexing. * HP victus audio drivers have a flaw when plugging and unplugging headsets. The Victus may not recognize the state change between internal speakers or headset, so it requires a reboot. Every. Single. Time. * Lastly, the drivers. When I owned this laptop in 2021, the driver support on HPs website was one big mess. They didn’t have a proper support site for the laptop, the drivers didn’t match or refused to install. This was especially evident when I tried to reinstall my audio driver and HP had corrupted links to their driver 😂 So this laptop went up for sale.

Not at all I'd say it's the sweet spot. Android Studio and other IDEs require a lot of RAM. I used a 256GB SSD machine once for Python development, I'd quickly run out of space because there's always another software you need like Adobe apps. That said, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD will get the job done too. But you'd be much more comfortable with the specs you mentioned. Especially if you like to play games every now and then, or do video editing.

@@glr1246 yeah the battery life isn’t good. I just used it for my Java class and it got to about 30% after 2 hours. I’d say for what the computer offers it’s really good if battery life isn’t the concern. What are you planning on using it for?

@@ScoobySnax. for school :( so i was hoping to have at least 6 hours by only using word and google but it seems complicated :/ and for gaming but that will be only at home so i think it's fine for that, but i'm kinda scared that i won't be able to make it the whole day at school :/ i don't know if all gaming laptops have that less battery :(
I got 3050/5 5600h/16gb model for 900 bucks and so far i wpuld recommend this beast to everyone

Did you buy the victus 15 or 16, is the wobble a serious issue like does it wobble while typing and gaming?
@masterofbalance4890

@@LeythLegacy i got 16 and wobble is not too crazy, as long as you don't type too hard it will only wobble when opening. I recommend getting a keyboard if it really bothers you

@@masterofbalance4890 I'm gonna buy the victus 15 version because I heard it has less wobble
Speakers and stuff shouldn’t matter as well as the exterior. If you want this for gaming just get a headset and possibly a monitor
I use a pavilion with 3050 and to be honest it's great, I don't like victus taking pavilion gaming's place because of different prices sizes and problems. Pavilion is much more easier to carry and does a better job in my opinion, why did they stop it ;(
Guys am rlly worried abt the wobbling problem coz I go crazy with such defaults and am actually intending to buy the pc online so i cant try it at the shop... Is it terrible or not ??

The downsides arent that important, specially when i connect a keyboard to it and i put the computer elevated on a stand, the only issue is low gbs of ram or this would be a good computer

I'm looking for a laptop that can run dead by daylight Hell let loose And ready or not Anybody have any suggestions?
Setting the laptop to hibernate will cause the hardware to fail.
the audio quality using a 3.5mm audio jack is TRASH and all they do is ignore the issue in their forums.
I have the model with rtx 3060 and I really love it. Screen wobble isn't that bad.
You have a low version ho victus 16. Best version ho victus 16 have displag srgb 100% and theris very good
how is the audio quality when watching a movie?

Um is this one good for watching KZread?
Good video
too much sexual innuendo in this video lmao
If the fan is really loud I’ll pass. I really don’t care for gaming laptops anyway. I have a gaming desktop, Xbox series X, PS4 pro(which is about the only one you can hear the fan) so I’ve grown used to silence while gaming. Also these things don’t last more than three years usually.
This is not Victus, that is Hp Omen
just bought today HP Victus 16 i5 11400h and 3050TI for 670 $

I removed the stock 8gb of ram and added 2 x 8gb hyperx impact and an extra 512gb samsung 980 m2 Cons : the body of the notebook its mediocre .. cheap plastic with alot of imperfections / speakers are ok not great and this is the only thing I can think of.
