im a black male ,I use to run the streets , do drugs , commit crimes , I have done time in prison and I'm a high school dropout . I'm 33 and was born and raised in Louisiana (republican state) . Things didn't change until looked at myself and realized that I was the problem it was nobody's fault but mines so I put my faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and surrendered my heart , thoughts and will over to Him . First thing first I stop doing drugs , second thing I disassociated myself with the streets and anyone still in the streets, I applied for a job at McDonald's and was denied because of my criminal background at that point I could have given up but I was determined to do something better with my life I eventually landed a job that payed double what McDonald's had offered I also picked up a 2nd job and I worked and saved my money I was able to get my license reinstated I bought a new car i started building my credit up and last year I became a homeowner (if I wouldn't have saved my money I wouldn't have had the money for the down payment) I also enrolled in college and I graduate in 2 months and I'm still working 2 jobs and I'm 4 years clean , also I was paying child support that whole time . Look at how much my life turned around in the last 4 years and the government didn't assist me in anyway whatsoever . In the United States of America you are the master of your own destiny

That's true for most of society downfall. That you shouldn't be ashamed for being lazy or overweight, that you shouldn't be ashamed for living on other peoples money when you're a grown up. Nowadays, they even trying to push it that you shouldn't even be ashamed for being a criminal that hurts other people for "entertainment".

@@jan22150that’s a great question. I’m blk, but I was into the “squares” back in the day. I once dated a man that went on to get his doctorate but he had a hard time finding blk women to date him. He told me they wanted bad boys. I know that some women are scared of getting picked on if the guy isn’t considered cool or hood enough. So, maybe some of it is peer pressure. Some women want a challenge, too. I never wanted that nonsense.

Even in the 1950s there were problems. There already was a single mother crisis which started with the welfare system giving money to single mothers that they wouldn’t get if married. Throughout the 1940s and 1950s the single mother rate rose from fewer than 10 percent to 20 percent. Also in the 1950s Nation of Islam was much bigger than it is today and other cultish movements and Marxist groups were very active all of which were leading blacks away from the True Gospel of Christ that got black folks through everything, toward ideologies and cults that practice identity politics and away from personal responsibility, family and church. These cults were already very active in the 1920s and they actually got started in the 1910s. So the rot and decay in the black community, the beginnings of it were already there in the 1910s and 1920s but they only afflicted minorities within the black community. They became the majority in the 1960s.

These are sad times where being articulate, well-mannered and educated correlates to whiteness. Whenever black people, especially Black-Americans had ostracized me for not feeding into an obnoxious stereotype I saw it as nothing more than a compliment. I refuse to waste the free education & rights my lineage fought for plus had to endure rough conditions for centuries- for other black-Americans to criticize me for having a passion to learn is a huge disgrace. This ignorance that’s praised within the community that’s ostracized me for being authentic is a huge disgrace. I won’t stop being a goth punk, I’ll keep indulging in my geeky stuff, will speak in proper English and finish off my CS Degree because that’s what they’ve fought for, for me to express myself and to expand my knowledge. I will never stand for loud and violent degenerates

Yeah but it literally came from white people. Those teachings. Not for your own culture. Thats one of the maib problem, thinking white people are your enemy and just countering what they do. Or saying you didnt learn this moderb way from other white people, the more you live in lies then you build on those lies and you just get more stupid and possibly other things such as getting hate and frustration because you live in your own fantasy. Go google on wikipedia how many black people were actually lynched in the 200years they did it. Black people kill twice that many people every year. So. Either cope or become a succesor and just accept whatever and have respect for the truth. You were forcef to live like us and were normalized as people who knew nothing and given teachings and wisdom and when you were let loose a lot of you manifested back to what you were capable of by your own. Which would destroy the modern world around you and turn it into a mess.

When I was a young man in Vietnam in 1968-69 I was often ostracized by some of the brothers because I was accused of using "big words" and sounding like a White boy. My father insisted on proper English be spoken in his house and he wasn't fortunate to have graduated from high school but he was articulate and read book all the time. I continue to speak as I've always spoken and I refuse to change anything about the way I carry myself and I put myself through college with the GI Bill and sweeping floors, busing tables, and washing dishes into a lucrative career.

Grew up in black culture here in Baltimore. Being white I could just listen. When I hear blacks talk they are proud of how tough their hood is. All over the country. I never hear about the past about how significant black culture was and what they overcame. I had a huge pic of the Tuskegee airmen over my basement bar. What incredible human beings. Really true heroes. I can name about 11 of them off the top of my head. None of my black bros can. We get to drinking and times I get to preaching to them. Growing up in the 60s was awesome. We were poor but communities stuck together. Came together as a unit. No one went hungry. A field needed farming, there was always help. It was a sense of family. The church and schools were our rocks. Children were taught to be respectful and help the elderly. As the 70s came in, things started to change. The culture shifted and the glue that held us together began to lose its strength. Each generation has gotten weaker and weaker. No end in sight.

YES! This happening in Hispanic communities too. Those photographs of blacks being killed in the streets is exactly like the photographs we Hispanics went through in the same era. And not by white cops, but by our own people. The 1970s and 1980s Miami and South Florida in general was dangerous. I could see why Blacks and Hispanics sometimes see commonalities... we may not get together fully to fix it together, but we certainly do congregate and talk about these things that go on within our communities that other ethnic groups don't face as much.

For example, the dress: If you watched the old TV show LEAVE IT TO BEAVER these days, Ward Cleaver would have a long ponytail combed back, complete with looking like a high school yearbook in june ...also, the wife june, wouldn't be wearing pearls, but piercings in face along with the high school yearbook look all over her body. I'm wondering if this us why I'm seeing confusion among 12 year old boys: I've seen 2..one was carrying a purse and his mom was looking on proudly The other was wearing a full face of makeup, with a miniskirt

I totally don't think of blacks as monolithic gangsters, only when individuals present themselves as such would I think this (of those individuals). But I have noticed there is a subsect that conforms to the negative stereotypes, and I don't know why this sort of maladaptive behavior/culture is so much more prevalent among blacks as compared to others. I'm about to enter grad school where nationally there are so few black students. It's almost 70% white and 30% Asian.... Barely any blacks or Hispanics... Asians only comprise 7% of the population, whereas blacks are 13%. This isn't good for the patient population as so many black patients would probably very much appreciate the care of a black doctor.... I've been wondering what's been going on here. Why is there a plight of the urban black male, and not a plight of the urban Asian male?

The political system has been manipulating people with promises for years and then gives just enough to quiet them into submission. Indoctrination of culture that has destroyed the family unit and glorifying single parenthood Introduced drugs into the community and now passing laws that encourage addiction instead of helping people with addiction. Enough culture built around criminals and celebrities, lowering the bar ❤successful life goals. Manipulated people into strife instead of working together towards a better future. Most importantly they have enabled and promoted the idea that they don’t need God.

Hispanic communities have those same issues. I'm seeing a resurgence of anti-intellectualism in my Hispanic community here in South Florida. People don't know the full history of their own nation of birth, muchless have any understanding of US History. So when you talk to them about these things they either change the subject or get mad at you. I'm just giving you the facts, this is actual factual articles and artifacts, documented realities, not some opinion or emotional ideology, because it feels good. I especially can't talk with Cubans (my own heritage), because they get upset, not realizing the truth of the matter is when it comes to the History of Cuban Politics.. it is a dismal and terrible story to talk about, but it needs to be acknowledge that Cuba never had luck with self governance. It was either under Spanish power, US power or communist power... it never reached to what Jose Marti wanted for his own people when he wrote his poems and later got politically involved... this idea of getting involved in your problems and solving them yourself dates back ages ago ad for good reason, so you aren't policed or controlled by outside forces. It is part of the human spirit to make it work and doing it on your own, so no one can boss you around. Being your own boss is the real American Dream. We don't have self governing people anymore. I see a lot of "Let someone else do it." As someone who overcame her disabilities and who was always overcoming everything thrown at her to oppress or limit her from success, I just hate lazy people. I always fought and do what needs to be done to get by and live as independently as I can. It is hard at times, because I see nondisable people getting by without an ounce of effort or things are given to them so easily due to nepotism or whatever outside forces that gives it all to them without them even lifting any effort or hardwork. I get disgusted by my community at times, because shouldn't it be the hard workers that get the raise and promotions, not the lazy, mediocre, has no idea what he/she is doing, oh but because he/she is so and so kid he or she gets the full time job? I try not to think about it too much, because I'll just get mad to the point of just letting that angry autistic child out and destroy civilization completely. Anyways... thank you for your video. It has a lot of great points and talks about the actual issues of the black community, but at the same time it also talks about the issues within the Hispanic community as well. Thank you.

@@smartchristians I thought that this was the "Smart Christian Channel?" If so, what's the spiritual and Biblical background to what's happening to the black community and world at large. When does "the love of money being the root to all evil," like the evil that's perpetuates many issues discussed in this video? Using laws abusively to increase prison money is not just evil but it's tyrannical, reminiscent to Egypt or Rome in the Bible. Furthermore, the stratification of resources is a form of stronghold because it's meant to oppress growth for poor and enhance wealth for rich.. When does the prophetic word of God which states that society will get worse in these last days find conclusion in this conversation? Why do we think that we can change Biblical prophesy with human hand? When does gaining this world but losing your soul find context in this conversation as it pertains to "success?" The Bible does say that it does NOT profit a man to gain world but lose soul. Furthermore, when does this very scripture redefine how we measure success as "Smart Christians?" Smart Christians make connections they don't become apologist for tyrannical government. The only time that the "Prince of Peace," better known as Jesus became violent in scripture was not on the cross. It was when he went into the synagogues and saw the stratification in distributed wealth between those money changers and the poor. The synagogues were practicing financial tyranny against poor, using "House of God" to be Brood of Vipers as opposed to providing meat in the the "house of God" to feed poor. Jesus physically turned tables and wiped them out of that synagogue. My last concern with this video is regarding the negative criticism toward Caucasian family who are trying to find empathy toward African American family. This ought not be criticized but rather praised, as it's a first step toward a tender heart toward understanding another human being which is not just phenomena, but phenomenal. Let's be "Smart Christians" and use the Bible to lead our understanding about this world in which we reside at present time. If not, the devil will slaughter your self esteem, especially Black Christians because the world measures success per that dollar so the negative narrative will always fall on us lest we have Biblical perspective. If not, then the devil's interethnic bondage will discourage you. He'll turn Blacks into Demas and Whites into Judas. One left the faith because he loved the things of the world and the other traded Jesus for a dollar. The devil doesn't care about color. If he did, his favorite color would called bondage because it works well for the poor and works well for the rich etc. It's a fits all crayon. This is why it doesn't profit a man to gain world but lose soul. Smart Christian. Stick to Bible!

For this reason, Black Americans are routinely last hired, first fired and passed over in promotions. This is the basic hard reality that is continually keeping millions of Black Americans from rising even today! Most of the Black community's social pathology problems ultimately stem from continuing race discrimination.Everything else is secondary!

I am born and raised in the south since 1960. I also lived up north in Milwaukee and Detroit. In the south in have personally dealt with the KKK marching in the streets and Jim crow racism. But the one thing I miss is that we had our own community where everybody looked out for each other. But once we integrated, all our businesses ceased to exist. We once had stores on every corner, we had laundry mats, Barber shops and our own restaurants. We even had our own medical facility in my small southern town. Once we integrated with whites we lost our community for the sake of going to all white schools. I went to all black schools and when we integrated, I made straight A's with the white kids. Then the black kids turned against me because they said I was trying to be white. What does being smart have to do with being black or white. I had to dumb down just to be able to ride the bus with blak kids and when my grades fell off, my mom made me walk to and from school 3 miles across town. There is a lot I can say, even when I was in the military and top of my unit wit distinction, the black solders would not spend any time with me. This is still a problem when my kids were growing up. Blacks who dont want to excel and work hard to get the benefits of our great country turn against the blacks that do and we are divided. Like i said there is a lot I want to say. Now we got Hebrew Isrealites trying to preach that we are Jews. Who the hell want to be a Jew? They have been persecuted far more than ordinary black African Americans.

I in some circumstances can relate to your experience. I was born in the South, but I lived in Fort Liberty (formerly Bragg). I watched my dad and uncles struggle and succeed in the service. I didn't see racism because I lived in a protected environment, but upon deploying to NAM multiple times, we lived in my dad's hometown of Philadelphia where I witnessed the attitudes of poor blacks who lived in the projects and Blacks who were members of the working class. Yes and everybody knew my dad and they recognized me and held me accountable. I had the chance to live overseas as well and interact with Whites again. I experience racism from Chinese who copied the attitudes of many Whites stationed in Taiwan. In Philly, I saw a lot of "Polarization and upon return to Fort Liberty because many people in the service are from the South and those old ideas are hard to shake, especially for ones who haven't experienced extensive combat. I believed that being older, my perspective changed and things were more noticeable. I joined the services and experienced self-hatred from Blacks, because I was a little to White for them and I experienced racism from Whites, because I was too Black for them. The same thing happened when I attended an HBCU before going active duty in the Marines and Special Operations. As Black service members we do catch Hell from both directions, which is wrong and I try to correct it, when I see it. However this brother is foul, because he is ill-equipped to speak on Black Consciousness. He is either ill-equipped or unwilling to unpack the entire truth and facts. Please feel free to ignore my comments or tell me why you disagree or agree. I try to peruse comments and reach out to where I feel I share like experiences.
