I’m thinking I’d like an Swfa fixed power or a Vortex diamondback but can’t decide what power would be best the 50 to 150 yard range. Any help would be greatly appreciated. my price range is 300 to 400$ Thanks man

Wow... I was floored when you told your story of the events leading up to the patch... additionally I was shocked that anyone would ask you about your eye patch. I just assume when I see an eye patch the story behind it is never going to be a happy one so I just prefer to leave it alone, and by giving us the rundown on how you ended up with yours it proves my reasoning. .. thank you for sharing such a personal part of your private life with us. I'm glad your around to make videos and to provide entertainment and info on KZread.

I feel the same way, when I am out and about I see things that common sense can answer. No I don't have the exact answer but, the person was born that way, accident of some sort, fight ? .if the person I am talking with doesn't bring it up, then I will not say anything to bring about bad memories. I like your thoughts on the matter 😊

Hey there Joe, my name is Tj & im 35 and also ware an eye patch with about the same kind of vision through my eye as well. I have some questions about your recovery as ive only had to endure eye trama since last November 2016 from a airbag, if you have the time it would mean alot to be able to talk about how you overcame the adversitys and/or dealing with loss of depth perception. Glad to know you made it out ok from your experience and it wasnt a tribulation that forced excuses to be a victim; but rather be a stronger more put togeather man because of it. Much respect and admiration sir! Please feel free to email anytime you wish to, Thank you! T.j. Starr Joker331.ts@gmail.com

Wieghing in late on this. Back in 1986 I was stabbed in my right eye by some unknown drunk street person because I did not give him a $1.00 so he could by more alcohol. My right eye was so damaged that the doctors removed the lens. The eye’s cornea was also damaged plus the back of my eye close to the optic nerve was cut. As the eye healed, my vision is blurred and what I can see is at 12 degree angle. So know my right eye is in effect useless to me. Aside from a lack of depth perception the biggest hindrance is I have to shoot rifles and shotguns left handed. Not a big problem that is other then trying to find left hand rifles that I would want, so I got into the bolt action pistols like an XP100 which I can shoot right or left hand. As I reflected over the years on this assault on me and my injury from it that this was my fault for letting my guard down with my assailant. It was a lesson that I learned from, and that is to never trust strangers anymore no matter their mental state of mind.

Yo Joe, your story about the fight reminded me of an encounter I had. I drove a gasoline tanker for 35 years and one night about 2 AM I was in one of the badder parts of town. I was stopped, unloading about 9000 gallon of gas and was tending the lines going to the tanks in the ground at the rear of the semi. All of a sudden I heard the engine try to start. I ran to the cab and some idiot was in the drivers seat saying "How do you crank this damn thing?" I said,"What da F___K are you doing in my truck" I grabbed him by the leg (the bottom of the cab was about 6 feet off the ground) and jerked him out of the seat. He fell to the ground and smashed the back of his head against the concrete. About that time, I saw a guy come around the front of the truck, talking all kinds of trash ... really didn't make any sense ... figured he was on crack ... and then another guy comes from the rear of the tank and he has a 2x4 in his hand. I knew things had just progressed from bad to worse and the guy on the ground grabbed my legs, I hit the guy in the face with a set of keys that I always kept in my belt loop and ripped him pretty deep across his face and then the guy with the 2x4 smashed it into the back of my head. I went down and the last thing I saw was that 2x4 coming at my mouth, busting all my teeth out. I guess they gave up on trying to steal the truck ... which was kinda lucky cause if they had managed to get the truck in gear and pull off, they would have pulled the lines loose which were still dropping gas and they would have been driving off with gas pouring out all over the place. In which case, I'm afraid that I would have lit a match and tossed it and just let the flames catch up with the truck. What kind of an idiot would attempt to steal a truck that they have no idea how to even put it in gear??? Luckily there were no secondary problems except a few years of diggin' shattered pieces of the roots of my teeth from my gums. Guess I was lucky the guy who hit me in the back of the head must have hit me with the broad side of the 2x4 ... if he had hit me with the 2" side I know he would have killed me. I'm sorry that you were hurt the way you were and then the bells palsey just added insult to injury. Love your videos and you keep a great attitude, you always make me laugh and in the end ... life is still good. Stay Chilly my friend!

Hey Joe, I wanted to say you're a real inspiration. I had experiences in my early life that caused irreparable damage to my teeth. I struggle to show my smile to this day because people make judgments. My family is similarly rough and tough and recently I was attacked while out camping and shooting airgun content. My car was shot full of holes. I have PTSD and it was triggering, I rolled out of my camper and dumped a magazine into my attacker's truck tailgate as they sped off. I hope I never find out who attacked me because I've got some choice feelings towards them. I really appreciate your confidence and how much of an inspiration you are to the community.

GOD bless You! I just recently found You but I’m glad I did. I spent twenty years in a wheelchair from a botched surgery on my broken back. The doctor ( I use the term very loosely) went in at the wrong level and almost completely cut the nerves to my legs. I’m 64 and have been damaged over half my life. I’m an East Texas boy myself. My nose has been broken so many times that it’s in a different spot each year in the school yearbooks. Fighting, football, accidents and just being a young man in a beautiful part of the world. I had a few small strokes that robbed me of math, guitars and short term memory. My previous doctor told me I’d be back in the chair for good in ten years. It’s been almost fourteen since He said that! I’m gonna use these legs and fall down stairs and over my own feet. You have a great personality and outlook on life. That’s the Texan in You. We have to go on. Period. Wallowing in self pity is loss. We have things to do! You take care big MAN! I really appreciate what You do for Us. Thank You Sir!

I understand all to well Joe. A year ago now, I got Bell's Palsy in the right side of my face. Doc said most of the time, it goes away. Sometimes it doesn't. I'm the sometimes. Darn it. Good thing I shoot left handed so I can use my left eye. But now, a couple months ago, carpel tunnel came back to left hand, making it hard to use my trigger hand. Oh goody. Besides left hip fixed, right hip getting worse exercising left hip and L2 fubared. And I worked hard and honest all my life for this? Some payback. Oh well, we do the best we can with what we got.

I had Bells Palsy twice. Once on left side and once on right side. Still affect my left eye. Had carpel tunnel also. Thought I was having a heart attack, left arm felt like it was being squeezed in a vice. A doctor prescribed a wrist brace that held my left wrist up at an angle. It would relieve the pain and in a few months all my carpel tunnel pain went away completely.

I lost my left eye in 2010 aged 17. Completely self inflicted when building a bonfire. I usually wear sunglasses but I’ve got a really nice leather patch. Thing is I feel more self conscious wearing the patch so I never do. It’s nice to see your self confidence.

I have to admit that I got a little choked up watching this. I have been through something similar as far as facial nerve function loss and looking different than most people because of a flesh graft to my cheek and neck. Thanks for sharing this with your viewers, including me. Please do not misunderstand, I don't pity you. On the contrary, I'd be honored to shake your hand. You stated in a video about fixed power scopes, a video I enjoyed a lot, that you are a person who looks different and thinks different. That's much the same the way that I feel about myself. Congrats for carrying on, being a down to earth guy, and contributing to my knowledge. Any day we are not pushing up daisies, is a great day!
