Hi, Steve. It is the ELRS antenna. The little thingy that comes with it is something like an adapter for people who don't like the original antenna and would like to use a different one. Because some people complained about the original antenna being too big. I think people should know, otherwise, this may be a deal breaker. NO NEED TO CHANGE THE ANTENNA GUYS.

You are 100% sure that the folding antenna doesnt have to be changed out? I was looking at the ELRS t-pro but would rather not pull radio apart to swap antenna. Would grab the 4-1 and external ELRS if swapping antenna is needed on the ELRS model.

Looks like Jumper T Pro's display screen is pretty small but it is more powerful with 1W power... On other hand, Radiomaster Zorro has a better and more visible screen for set up and binding but it is not as powerful as T-Pro with 1/4 battery power with 0.25W! Anyways, both are almost equal for me with those nice features!

I got a question how much power can produce on the back of the controller module Bay. Only 250 or more. Because if I put a crossfire they can go up to 1w

The internal module can fail in a flash update and you will need to disassemble the radio to recover the firmware. Jumper failed to work with the ELRS developers to make this radio correctly. Beware guys!

I’d still prefer the Radiomaster Zorro, it just seems like better quality with the jumper it’s probably going to overheat inside the case. Besides that, the Radiomaster has more than enough power for most people, unless your going tens of kilometres.

Thanks for the quick overview! Man, Jumper totally failed with the momentary buttons, worst design decision of all time for a quadcentric radio. What in the hell were they thinking? I do like the idea of having ELRS built in, but if i'm doing 1000mW, no way. I mean, that radio is going to get pretty hot in there with all the other components also sucking up that heat as well. I would want an external module for 1000mW. I'm definitely getting a Zorro, grabbing one from a reviewer friend next week.

Zorro is horrific looking. No need for the terrible screen hanging on like some cancerous growth. Plus you need to strap another battery to the thing to get more than 45min battery life using even 100mw internal ELRS. Only thing interesting is the possible cnc gimbal upgrade to make this gamepad (IE cheap) radio feel more like a $300 radio.

Steve, does this new model (ELRS bultin) come with JP4in1 multi-protocol also?

Nope. So far no 4 in 1 radio has built in ELRS.

In the BUDGET world of radio transmitters there is pretty much the big 4 that keep producing the most popular. The big 4 are Jumper, Radiomaster, BetaFPV and Eachine… well ok, not really eachine as they just stamp their name on other manufacturer’s products. FRSKY, FLYSKY, FUTABA, SPEKTRUM, TEAM BLACK SHEEP (crossfire), all make low cost radios as well, but they are usually made specifically for only their own receivers vice everyone’s receivers.

I *know* deep down neither of these is all that much better than my Jumper T-Lite. Has that stopped me from shopping for one? Not even a little

And now the announced problems with ELRS on jumper t pro. 🤦🏽 what a headache... I'm glad I gave up on jumper last month. Lol

I think Jumper is kicking themselves in the a$$ on this one compared to the Zorro. Seems like RadioMaster fully embraced ELRS and Jumper is was like "Dam...........quick we need to do something, I know, let's take our problematic radio and toss ELRS on it". Not sure why Jumper put a 1W transmitter in there for ELRS. If I need one what, I'm probably flying a fixed wing long distance and probably want more 3 positions switches for multiple OSDs, Flaps, gimbals, and full screen display. I have the Jumper T18, but plan on having a smaller radio for Quads in delta wings that would fly in parts and in areas where I don't plan on flying more than a mile out. A 1W transmitter INSIDE the radio seems like that is a problem waiting to happen. For the battery, even the Zorro doesn't use the larger 18650, you really have three options to fit your needs. Just going to buzz around the house, just use the internal batteries. Going to the park for an hour, use the internal batteries and the 2S strapped to the controller. Doing some long distance flying........put a larger 2s battery in your pocket and connect to the radio...........hell that's better than what you have to with the T18.

There was always an internal ELRS plan. Rumor is the openTX not supporting internal ELRS was an issue. Not sure why but seems edgeTX stock was not something they wanted to do. But since RM did it jumper just released theirs. Guess it wasnt going to be as much of an issue as jumper seemed to think it might be

pretty intense competition in this segment and still weak spots considering that the even far bigger Zorro comes with 1/3 battery capacity and not much hope for a 1 W elrs built in. Jumper made a lot right, but the display is too tiny, the antenna idea a joke on the elrs one and the calibration switches are a mess. I will wait for chrismas cause I expect that they will get back to the drawing board for improvements and new editions.

You can tell the T-Pro is targeted at drone pilots. Dont need a fancy screen or 100 switches to fly a drone. I think the RM is more targeted at the entire modeling community. Thing keeping the RM in my short list is the rumor of cnc gimbals and other upgrades. Still love my older t-lite tho and the t-pro is tempting other than the odd bottons and mostly useless 7 switches on the front.

.... and now a problem with the elrs version... (Jumper T-Pro)...

I will wait a little bit and then Zorro will come with a color screen and touch.

Not for under $100. I doubt it will happen. Maybe color but not touch. I know i would not pay TX16s money for a gamepad style radio. Then again if cnc gimbal rumor is true well that changes it a bit. Gimbals costing more than the entire radio :)
