What I love about this video is it removes a lot of the mystic, and over complication of sharpening a lot of people can run into when trying to learn Just a “blue collar” version of getting a perfect working edge. If your looking for an instagram edge this is not it, but if like me you use your knife in an industrial work setting daily this is the ticket

I'm really pleased with this! It works like a charm kzread.infoUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ Takes less time than my old electric sharpener because it can take more off the knife faster, and then it smooths out nicely with the finer grit polisher. I don't know how long it will last before the grit wears away, but I wouldn't mind having to replace it every once in a while.

My grandfather taught me how to sharpen freehand on water stones when I was a little boy. Yes knowing the right angle is important. Its second nature to me after decades of sharpening. Practice, practice, practice. Finish up on a ceramic rod. It'll shave hair.

To use initial coarse stones, I recommend to use Japanese wet stone called Kongo Toishi. They are relatively cheap, but works real good, and is much better than Buck 350 Diamond sharpener.

I have a question I have owned 102 woodsmen for 33 years and yesterday I was taking hide off a buck head and I broke my blade. I’ve done this for so many years and never had any issues . When I say I broke it the blade broke in half this broke my heart because this knife has been a part of my life for 33 years. Please tell me there is away to fix this knife even if I can’t use it anymore and just have it to have it . Please take a min to respond this knife is very important or me thank you.

Buck has a lifetime warranty. All you have to do it send it in to Buck, they will either fix or replace your knife. To do this .. go online to Buck site, enter your info for repair, and send it in. That’s all you need to do my friend. Buck has the best warranty!!! Cost a few bucks to send it in , but your knife will be repaired or replaced.

In your case they will most likely just put a new blade on your knife.

You could get a welder to reweld it. Carbon steel. They would use a very fine acetyaline torch tip to weld it. Mig or stick wouldnt be fine enough. Even i would take it to a jeweller for acet torch welding the broken blade. Buck would most likely put a new blade on it. - welder.
