We always get asked what's the difference between Chemi-pure Blue and Chemi-pure Elite so we decided to put together this video to show you the main differences of our two most popular all-in-one phosphate removal formulas. Chemi-pure Blue is the strongest version of Chemi-pure that we offer. It’s a new problem-solving formulation that utilizes phosphate adsorbrtion and binding resins which are far more efficient at removing phosphates compared to GFO. It also uses an extremely clean, low dust, extruded pelletized activated carbon we call QuickWash Carbon which has a greater surface area than our original granulated carbon, plus it includes an organic scavenger resin which removes organic waste and excess nutrients.
Chemi-pure Blue was designed to rapidly reduces phosphates and work in higher pH environments such as marine, reef, jellyfish, and even higher pH tropical freshwater aquariums like African cichlids, goldfish, and koi. It works great in heavily stocked aquariums and helps to quickly reduce nuisance algae issues in aquariums that are overdue on their regularly scheduled maintenance. This product is so efficient that some caution should be taken when using the media on low nutrient reef systems because the rapid reduction in phosphates can stress your corals. Chemi-pure Blue will fix nuisance algae issues and maintain heavy bio-loads, but if your system is well maintained and you are looking for an all-in-one phosphate maintenance media that will not rapidly reduces levels but rather help maintain your current levels for a longer period of time, we recommend using Chemi-pure Elite."
Chemi-pure Elite is the exact same formula as the original, which is a mixture of low-dust, extruded pelletized activated carbon, and ion exchange resins with the addition of Granulated Ferric Oxide, (GFO), being added into the mix for Phosphate control. The Elite formula can be used in all aquatic applications. This product is great for controlling phosphates over a long period of time. Chemi-pure Elite was formulated for aquariums with medium to low bio-loads. It is safe to use on all aquariums, fresh or salt, and will help keep your water crystal clear and contaminant free.
All of our formulas last 2-4 months depending on the bio-load of the aquarium. The best way to tell when your media should be replaced is testing your water for increased phosphates and nutrient levels, fluctuations in pH and a quick visual sign is water clarity, if you notice the aquarium water isn’t as clear as it was it means it’s time to switch out the Chemi-pure!

Nice! Just put the elite in my hob filters. Vita chem seems like it is just small flies!
I have an Aquatech 30-60 filter. Where would I put the chemi pure and what would I remove to put it in?
I just put chemi pure elite in my FW fantasy goldfish tanks. Hope it helps with water quality
so will these completely deplete phosphate levels? or do I test daily and remove once excess phosphate is removed
can it be reused? how many more times
can this be split up and used in smaller amounts?
Can I use this with my asian arowana and 2 black diamond stingrays?
For a African Cichlid Cichlid tank what’s better ?

I heard Chemipure Blue works great for African cichlids and is an overall better product compared to Elite, because it has Purigen in it. I have South American cichlids and have used Elite for the past year with no regrets... but I'm thinking of running 1 of each I'm both of my FX6... hope this helps...
Does any of your chemi-pure products help with lowering nitrates? I have a 120gal with a 30gal sump full of bio media, I do weekly water changes and I am still having a hard time getting my nitrates to stay below 40ppm. I do 50% waterchanges using half rodi and half conditioned tap water. I am looking for a product that will help to reduce nitrates. I am currently using api nitra-zorb. That does not seem to do much for nitrates. Does however remove ammonia. Any ideas?

Are you in saltwater? I'm assuming so and I'm going to respond like any experienced aquarist would say, it depends on bio-load, inhabitants and term of establishment. If 40 ppm is too high for you but the inhabitants tolerate it, I'd leave it alone. If it's effecting fish and perhaps corals, you can lower it by adding a carbon source like vinegar or vodka or even a premade product from redsea called NoPOX. However, chemipure does capture organic matter reducing potential N. If left in too long, it'll get broken down to N.

Did you listen to video or just skip through it kind of half assed like most of us has gotten in the habit of doing these days? At 1:20 she specifically says that using this product can cause corals problems because it reduces phosphate so fast. Could that be your issue with your corals being pissy pandas? I love this stuff with no issues but I have a FOWLR at the moment but it is a 300 gallon system but large home systems like mine are very forgiving due to the volume. Good luck!🍀

I wonder if it removed so much of the phosphate that is stressed the corals.
Some guy name Kevin Novak made a video a couple days ago claiming he knows Chemi-Pure’s formula and he’s showing people how to copy your product while trash talking your company

See some videos of him, this guys tell basic thing or worst, tell shit, write Ph.d on his video like authoritative argument. He may know the formula, but enjoy to recreate it in your kitchen. I prefer buy it directly like I buy apple juice
