    We have blessings from God when we follow him, serve him, love him with our everything, and make him our source of worship. When we choose to follow our own desires, and worship our own selves, God allows us to go that route since he gives us free will, but because of our own decisions, we experience curses which are outside of the blessing and protection of God. Because he loves us, he freely lets us make these choices, but it’s not the best for us or what he wants for us. Our own decisions bring about the curse. When we follow God, love and worship him instead of ourselves, and our own desires, then he gives us the gift of his blessing. God firms up his covenant with the Israelites through Moses and says this about the blessing and the curse: “there will be a blessing, if you obey the commands of the Lord your God I am giving you today, and a curse, if you do not obey the commands of the Lord your God and you turn aside from the path I command you today by following other gods you have not known.” Deuteronomy‬ ‭11‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭CSB‬‬

    And if we don’t believe in Jesus unfortunately we will go to hell. I know the Bible project doesn’t believe in hell outside of this “hell is here” mentality but biblically speaking there is a place called hell for the fallen angels and those who reject God and His son Jesus Christ.

    @@YeshuaSaves3 it’s very biblical actually. If you look at the context and parables and original language, it’s very unlikely that hell is identical to what we as American Christians assume it is. Some things are fundamental. Like the fact that hell is separation from God, or the sin is the path that leads there… but it’s a lot more vauge than you think. If you’re interested, I could describe to you how C.S. Lewis and other biblical thinkers of his sort picture hell. It might not be as far off as you think!

  • @YeshuaSaves3

    @YeshuaSaves3

    Жыл бұрын

    @@jarastar6499 Ok, so you know what Hell was made for right? God created hell as a place for the fallen angels including Lucifer to be cast into which is the lake of fire. It is a place of judgement against them to destroy them for their sins. Revelations also calls this the “second death”. This same place is reserved for the wicked people who reject God. I would hate to see God say on judgement day “you thought I was literally going to destroy the enemy? Nah I just meant metaphorically.”

  • @jarastar6499

    @jarastar6499

    Жыл бұрын

    @@YeshuaSaves3 of course I understand why hell was made. I never said it’s metaphorical. Just that it isn’t necessarily a literal out of fire. I personally believe hell is very real. But it’s a choice. Everyone who goes to hell chooses to do so because they do not want to live with God in the kingdom. God does not drag people to hell unwilling. The people who will be there will walk themselves there out of spite, blindness, and fear. In the words of C. S. Lewis, “the gates of hell are locked from the inside” Hell is for those who reject God and cannot stand him because his goodness and love is opposite of what they value. The wicked people will run to hell. It’s not a punishment. It’s what they want. And that is good. Because we would not want bad people in heaven who are there against their will. They will suffer in the world they choose because they refuse to imagine anything better.

    Thousands were crucified. Ostensibly, in Jesus' backyard. It makes for a good story for the real sacrifice and resurrection. I wanted nothing to do with religion growing up. I've concluded that there are three main components to the bible. The Sacrifice is the day of wrath and he is 'made to be sin' when he carries out this war. He then returns, within the same generation, to fulfill the suffering servant passages. The sacrifice and resurrection are Isaiah 40: 2 and 3, respectively, if read in context to each other. The third component is that the Shining One (Snake; David the Morning Star) is the Cornerstone, of his work of salvation. The Ancient Serpent of Old becomes the Ancient One of Days seated upon a throne on the Mount of Assembly. The Son of Man washes his feet and he subjects himself and his kingdom to the Son of Man. The gates of the netherworld (abyss/ hell/ sheol/ gehenna) shall not prevail against it. (Mat 16:18 NABO) Esau, the firstborn, lives by the sword and serves his brother, Jacob, who was born ‘striking’ at his heel. Isaac blessed Esau saying: "Ah, far from the fertile earth shall be your dwelling; far from the dew of the heavens above! (Gen 27:39 NABO) "My kingdom does not belong to this world. (Joh 18:36 NABO) Where I am going you cannot come. (Joh 8:21 NABO) The one who descended is also the one who ascended far above all the heavens themselves (Eph 4:10 NABO) Bart Ehrman became my favorite author.

    @e.t.phonehome3547 There's an ancient myth where a character named Adapa accidentally breaks the wing of the South Wind while fishing in the sea, and is brought before the gods for judgment. Before his trial, the trickster god Ea, warns him not to eat or drink anything the gods offer him for it would result in death. Ea grants Adapa great wisdom, allowing him to argue his case before the gods. They agree he was not at fault and offer him food and drink, but he does not partake. Little did he know, the food of the gods grants immortality and he missed his chance, however, he did obtain great wisdom. The Jewish tale makes some adjustments. It is Yahweh who warns Adama not to eat the food or he will surely die and the serpent is the trickster. Instead of heeding the warning of the god, they disobey. Both stories result in a loss of eternal life and the gaining of knowledge, but Genesis clarifies its "knowledge of good and evil" or morality. And what's the first thing that happens? They realize they're naked. Thus explaining what separates man from animals.

    The biblical Tree of Life is the tree that produces fruit for physical sustenance (fruits, vegetables, nuts...). The biblical Tree of Knowledge is the tree that produces fruit for spiritual sustenance (cannabis, mushrooms, cacti, opium poppy, salvia...). "When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it" - Genesis 3:6 "Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked" - Genesis 3:7 Now... "You are not naked when you take off your clothes. You still wear your religious assumptions, your prejudices, your fears, your illusions, your delusions. When you shed the cultural operating system, then, essentially you stand naked before the inspection of your own psyche…and it’s from that position, a position outside the cultural operating system, that we can begin to ask real questions about what does it mean to be human, what kind of circumstance are we caught in, and what kind of structures, if any, can we put in place to assuage the pain and accentuate the glory and the wonder that lurks, waiting for us, in this very narrow slice of time between the birth canal and the yawning grave. In other words we have to return to first premises" - Terrence McKenna

    You got it the wrong side of the true story. God creates two trees in the middle of the Eden Garden. 1. the tree of life 2. the tree of good and evil God commands the man and woman (HaAdam, the dust and blood human, literally from hebrew) to eat all fruits and seeds in the garden except the fruit of the tree of good and evil because you will surely die if you eat it. God didn’t say or bible doesn’t record that the tree of good and evil looks more beautiful, attractive than any other trees or fruits but the perception of the woman to the tree said so after the devil / tempter had said if you ate it, you will be like god. However, God (Elohim, plural) has created HaAdam based on His (their) Image and Likeness I hope it will change your conclusion
