There's more. One extremely important feature of EX you forgot to mention is converting 3D to linework. That you cannot do with photoshop even as far as i know.

I use the comic book feature of EX to generate sketch books as well as comics. Every time I do a new sketch, or a picture I generate a new page. The advantage is I can see an entire months worth of sketches and pick out pictures worth completing, and at the end of the month, I can batch export the entire art pad in a few clicks. The time this saves over doing individual fiels is enormous. exporting and naming an entire month of pictures individually used to take hours, now it takes minutes.

@@izumichan31 and once I batch export, I use "Rename Maestro" to manipulate all the file names at the same time. saving me a whole bunch of time there too. Still have to add picture titles in manually though.

Damn this came at a right time. I'm transitioning from krita and some Photoshop to clip. I love krita but it doesn't suit most of my needs like I've seen on clip

Im in the exact same situation aha. Krita is wonderful for painting, photoshop is also really good but is too expensive. I might buy CSP one day when its on sale ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Clip studio paint is on sale right now so I was thinking of picking it up as I am currently working with Sai which I really love but is restrictive in some areas and I want to start making comics. I was really worried that I would have to get EX if I wanted to do comic work but I'm glad to hear that I will still be able to do this just with pro.

@@niquasv9582 ​ niquas v If the price deters you get pro, pro has all the features you need as an individual artist; EX has features that are more industry based is my opinion, with a few extra things like creating longer animations and converting 3D images to 2D. I am currently working with a ton of pages so the Converting multiple pages feature, is a quality of life thing for me mostly but it's not necessary. Get Pro on sale right now it's a good price you'll be fine. I personally had pro but upgraded, that's another good option. You can buy pro now and have the option to upgrade later.

Considering that I don't have enough money for ex yet and I really want to get into manga drawing I'm just going to go for pro right now

Are their any differences to the brush engine in EX. Specifically I was wondering if the ribbon setting have a random single output option. It seems to be missing from the pro options when it shouldn't be hard to implement, considering there is a random string output _or_ a single output. Random single would be extremely useful which is why I considered it might be limited to EX

So for a beginner ex is just fine. Olso I have a question it says Export animation cels and exposure sheet not with pro. But doss this mean ik can't save animation without a background like for alerts for twitch or GIFS

As a csp Debut user, I can tell that its lack of so much compared to the other versions (no perspective ruler for example). So if you think of using it as a pro you should at least get the PRO version.

I think you should compare Clip Studio Paint Pro and EX to Gimp and Krita. Because from the looks of it, I can do all this in free and open source software. I get that some companies require the use of either Clip Studio or Photoshop. But unless you get a license for free, I don't really see its purpose. Maybe I'm wrong. And please correct me if I am. But I just don't see it.

for me im also thinking of going from krita to clip, the main reason is the workflow for me i just cant get into how cluttered and inconsistant krita feels allot of the time and i always need to look up stuff again of how things work in there. also clip studio has better line art (thier software helps allot for getting way smoother lines)

I don't ever plan to animate, but I do plan to become a full-fledged manga artist down the road, and a program that actually creates panels with a text editor seems like a godsend. Haroo Husky it stacks, originally the upgrade would be 160, but when it’s on sale, it’s 84. meaning together 25 + 84 =109. (which is the exact same price as the discounted EX version)

so it wouldn’t matter if you bought it normally, or upgraded. i would suggest buying it normally, because you can run into serial number problems, and may have to contact support. buying EX normally is safer.

Lately I been wanting to get Clip paint studio since sometimes fire alpaca doesn't want to save my drawings at times and it has way more brushes

Question. Does any of the versions have the AUTOSAVE/RECOVERY option like the PAINT TOOL SAI v2.0 has? I'm sticking to SAI because of it. Our place usually has blackouts and it saves me a lot of projects not to redo all over again.

Yes. I know EX autosaves recovery information. In the 8 years that I've been using it I've only had one file get screwed up in it.

Yes! If your drawing is saved as any image file it will open it.

If you buy say the pro version and you need to upgrade to a newer computer a year or two down the road. How do you put the program on the new computer, do you have to buy it again?

No. On desktop one-time payment is just that. I bought clip studio in 2016 haven't had to pay anything else since. Well except when I upgraded to Ex, but that was paying for more features. Updates are free. For mobile devices however there is a subscription fee but even that is nowhere near the cost of photoshop I think.

I have csp on my laptop and desktop. When you purchase it you have to make an account, so no matter what device youre on (outside of mobile/tablet), as long as you have your account info you'll be fine

@@BrianShearer I'm fine with that. KZread main page shows me mostly stuff i subscribed and if it doesn't and i have some spare time i just check the channels i like for new stuff. Me subbing a channel is a form of appreciation and sometimes i just visit those youtubers once a month, or once a year, just to catch up. I dont need notifications and seeing new stuff as soon as it comes out :) But me subscribing a channel means at least that i enjoyed the content and in the future i will probably see more :). More than nothing, in my opinion :P
