In Mark 12 Jesus observes a poor widow putting 2 coins-worth a fraction of a penny-into the Temple treasury. We learn that she gave all that she had-her entire life’s savings. Generosity to God is measured not by the amount but by the sacrifice. And there will be certain sacrifices we must make as followers of Jesus-not just financially, but practically, materially, emotionally, and even physically. What does it really “cost” us to be followers of Jesus? Pastor Gary challenges us with the example of the poor widow in today’s study.

I could just imagine when pastor Gary arrives to heaven all the souls that were saved by his teachings will go out and greet him. It will be a wonderful moment! When the day comes, Pastor Gary will have done all he came to the world to do. Very few of us could say the same.

I wish someone had told me the cost before I was born again. I probably would have made a different decision. I am such a failure. I will never make it unless God helps me. If anyone could lose salvation it would be me. So unless salvation is secure I have no chance.
