Okay, but the hand mixer is actually my favorite. You just need a deeper bowl, and if there is still a mess, you can actually just put the bowl in the sink to prevent the mess. But the mixer gets the potatoes so creamy and fluffy.

That’s what I think! Like Lynja use a bigger bowl!!!! That mixer hardly even fits into the bowl!!! What are you thinking!!! Also I personally use the hand mixer it makes fluffier, creamier, tastier, better mashed potatoes. (At least imo)

I actually think the hand mixer is the better and easier option. You just have to 1) mix it in a larger bowl so it don’t get everywhere and 2) add a little bit of milk and butter to mixing to loosen it up

I been doing this for years and it’s never been doughy. Once you mix the potatoes as soon as you finish boiling and it’s still hot and then add a warm cream/butter mixture, everything comes together quickly so it’s not overworked

For me it works better when you cut the potatoes into smaller pieces before boiling them which makes them looser and easier to mash

I add the butter and milk when i use the mixer and make sure to do it in a big bowl. Comes out perfect every time.
