I live in SA, I won’t recommend Helotes, traffic is a nightmare in and out of this part of the city, no major freeways. The other places are actually towns relatively close to San Antonio, very expensive areas though. Outdoor activities? today 110 F, raddled snakes, scorpions, good luck with the adventure!

Thank you for your input! Traffic in Helotes and the lack of major freeways are definitely concerns to consider. Surrounding towns like Boerne and Stone Oak can be expensive, but they offer many amenities. The extreme heat and local wildlife like rattlesnakes and scorpions are also important to keep in mind for outdoor activities. Your insights are very helpful for potential residents!

Wilson county is the best. If you want to live in the exurbs near San Antonio, this country is probably your last place available. I have a straight shoot into downtown. I’ve lived there for years, and it was the best decision I have made, if you want to avoid most of the dreaded traffic near San Antonio.
