Harry Kalin what I mean by quality over quantity is that a “starter” airsoft gun, people would price around $150. A krytac, usually a great gun, costs around $350. Lets say you had your eye on the krytac, but you settled for the “starter” gun. Later on, you’ll probably want the krytac because (more of than not) they are better than “starter” guns. So then you buy the krytac. Now you’ve just spent $500 just to end up with the gun you wanted from the beginning. I’m not saying “starter” guns can’t be good as well, but from my experience, you usually get what you pay for

I would like to see the return of the helm of reasoning, and answering questions. My favorite episode was the one where you guys had the clip of Miguel failing with the grenade launcher to "wrecking ball" I still laugh thinking about that clip.

Bring back the helm for an end segment but keep themed episodes My favorite episode was when jet and Leah came on and talked about melee weapons

I liked the Helmet of reasoning, but having specific topics gives the viewer more information. My favorite episode was 108 with giant Jenga. Love the show, greetings from over sea's from the birthplace of great beer and chocolate.

I have to ask ....what is a true "competitive" level?? Who are we competing with?????? Paintball???? If so, thats NOT the bracket we all want to be in???? So whats what.... id like to hear everyone's thoughts

And also.....hasn't....classic army....g&g.....vfc etc etc, have there fair share of straightforward BULLSHIT guns for the price???? Im sorry but at the end of my day, I'm not paying over 300 bones for a vfc just because the externals are great!!!! It's airsoft.....whats under the hood is why we buy these things. Performance....Performance.... not all about externals. Its like buying a freshly painted Ferrari car....but has a 76 amc gremlin motor in it... Wake up manufactures!!!! We want and demand better quality

Marty Guy vfc does have mostly good internals

I'd say a G&G Combat Machine, good price, good internals, and fair externals (2 other great options are the Specna Arms Edge and the Krytac Alpha, of course if you have more money in your budget)

Coming out of paintball and looking for a viable speedsoft/milsim the kid and I are eyeballing the kwa Ronin T6 and the mod1. Wow.... 250,000 bb's if it was paintball that would be very expensive. Loving airsoft even more. paintball guns are running around 1500+ dollars for tournament grade. I could get a full custom aeg for that price!

Started with a Valken ASL Mod-M and a VFC Glock. After playing 2 days I love the game so much I upgraded to a VFC Avalon CQB lol

I work and play at my local indoor field and this comes up a lot. I have played for just about 2 years now and have owned 2 guns and both have had zero problems after weekly use. My first gun was an ICS MARS series rifle, still have it still love it. The second rifle I got was my Krytac PDW MK2, again still have it and after having shot everything in our store and other peoples guns I honestly wouldn't want anything else. When people are looking for their first gun and are tight on money, the CM16 G&G guns are my go to, they are affordable, aren't going to give you any big problems, you could even upgrade them, and using M4 mags is a huge bonus for new players I feel. When well over half the field runs an M4, someone will have a bag full of mags like I do and be happy to share or mid game be able to keep you in the fight when you are starting and only have one mag. If new people aren't in a tight spot when buying in to the hobby, a Mk2 Krytac all day. I love mine to bits, no problems ever, feels quality in my hands (same as the MARS platform), and has no play anywhere in the body. We have ICS rental M4s that get absolutely abused by rentals and those are still great guns, I wouldn't be fussed using one on a club day. I think people get a little carried away watching youtube videos about custom guns and start to think that stock guns are bad. Have a shoot with some stock guns and I think most people new and old would be surprised how competitive you can be.

Just got a KWA SR7 and it's shooting out the box phenomenally. My buddy brought his chrono and it's shooting 360-370 with .25g EF bb's | 11.1v lipo. Only heard good things so far about these rifles so I pulled the trigger and couldn't be happier. Got the FDE color version for $232 so it was a great deal. I will grab an ASG CZ P-09 Urban Grey pistol eventually after enjoying my rifle a bit longer.

The helmet of reasoning was fun but caused the videos to be non-specific. Also was the New CYMA AEP delayed due to COVID or other reasons?

G&G Combat Machine is a great beginning gun, they are built to last. They have great durability and will take a beating while continuing to work day after day, year after year. I have taken many new players out and let them use mine for their first day of airsoft. Great platform to do a few upgrades if you like and you can learn to work on it as you go. Highly recommended!

When I was playing I was using a Matrix epic deals bundle and it worked well for 150 dollars. When it stopped working after a year mid game and the mags stopped feeding i couldn't afford a new gun so i stopped playing and now I'm trying to get back into it.

I started with a CM16 Raider and its still going pretty strong years later, though at this point its relegated to a "loan it to friends to get them hooked on airsoft" position. That and a CZ P-09 is a great combo.

Do you think binary triggers might make their way to airsoft? I feel like it's best use would be for DMRs as a way to kinda have a full auto for just in case moments. But ideally it would be great for something like the TM Sledge Hammer

Return the helm. With a weekly theme announced the week before. But another helm where you answer one or two misc questions from the prior week.

From my experience I would say the gen 2 lancer tactical m4s. I started off with 1 around 2 years ago and it's still going. I have 4 Lancers in my arsenal as of this moment. I'm planning on making one into a cqb gun and one into a Dmr. As far as pistols are concerned I would say a asg cz po9.

Themed shows were ok, but I really liked the Questions in the Helmet.

I’ve had an echo 1 mrf Troy cqb and I’ve had that bad boy for a good 3 years now still use it on the field

If you have some cash to spend. Best beginner and reliable gun I ever used was ASG Scorpion Evo. 4 years in and nothing broke yet quick spring change allows me to use it both outdoors and indoors. The gun shoots so good and fast out of the box it gets labeled as a dmr at my local outdoor airsoft arena.

I started with a lancer, worked for a few months bu then I went it to something better, an upgraded SSG, then I got a Better upgraded SSG, now considering a polarstar

G&G Raider-L 2.0E Comes with a mosfet, electric trigger and is under $270 Canadian. A 357mm inner barrel.

My favourite episodes are when you guys bring airsoft guns and talk about your builds. If you have guests, having them bring their primary builds to discuss would be cool.

This had to be 12 years ago but the Echo1 full metal M4 was the best beginner gun you could probably buy

If you guys do questions again what is a good brand/gun to start a build with? I've been playing for about 3 years and want to do my own build but don't wanna get too carried away and end up not being able to finish one

If you like the hi-capa why did you pick the aw one? it costs around the same (in most cases $20 more) as the tm hi-capa and a stock tm can run better than allot of the cheap we-based pre-upgraded hi-capas. this is just my grain of salt. also remember this is coming from a speedsoft/cqb player so we kinda worship the tm hi-capa. IF you have a strict strict budget get an army armament r17, you can pick them up for around $60-$70 in the us.

Dont get anything that has a rare proprietary magazine that's really hard to find / very more expensive than it should be.

Does anyone have any experience with Raven pistols? I have one and it's great! But no one thinks they're any good... I have eu17 and its still running after a year.

My starters were Dboys G&G and Echo1 .. great starter guns but if I were to start now I'd go with a Bolt B4 pdw

I got two Airsoft guns in mind. The first one is the G&G Combat machine 16 Raider Airsoft AEG Rifle that comes with 9.6 battery and smart charger. Because it’s comes with a 450 round hi-cap magazine, it’s good quality build, and works great. It’s have a good price of $189.00 with tax. And the second gun is the Walther PPQ green gas powered with the black/tan color. Because it feels great in your hand and the magazine is easy to fill up with gas and bbs, and it can hold up to 22 bbs, and you can put a light or laser on it and a 14 negative tracer unit or silencer on it as well.

More stuff, more examples. I really liked when you were bringing out gear and guns you actually used to explain them. Maybe film some examples of things you do while playing but in a way that illistrates them, as opposed to actual play footage.

I love G&G combat machines. I’ve had a CM-16 R8-L for years and it’s my pride and joy. Though at this point it has been heavily upgraded, its barely stock, but it’s because I love it that I’ve had it this long. I’d say a CYMA AK is tried and true. Can’t go wrong. If we’re talking 1911s though, the main turn off from the EF 1911 TAC is it’s 14rd mag. This is why I got the KJW KP-07 and the 1911 FM. They also use CO2 and have a 26rd magazine. I’ve had both of mine for 4 or 5 years now and they still work reliably. Probably the most slept on 1911 that I can think of. As for other pistols I like my EF Glock 17 Gen 4, or the ASG CZ P-09, and all of these pistols can use CO2 or green gas.

Specna edge . Full metal externals tightbore barrel mosfet 2 mags in the box a great place to start

Emg sr-16 hands down. Electric trigger, upgraded inner barrel, integrated mosfet, ambidextrous mag release, 16 rps out of the box, 400 fps out of the box. $215 price tag. Only downside is a thin magwell. I bought a second because mine went down due to my neglect to test how much abuse it could take before it died. I had an evike monster torque up motor in it which took it to 25 rps and almost instant trigger response

Here in 2021 so I was an active duty army soldier for 3 1/2yrs and now that I'm getting into airsoft I feel like the weapon of choice belongs to the most experienced and the weapons they used while in service

The most over looked beginner platform is the pistol. To be exact the Elite force 1911 tac. This gun is very good, you have a rail for a flashlight and you can get extended mags for it also. It is good for cqb but it also is pretty good outdoors. I personally have had a 1911 tac since it came out, I bought 2 regular mags and 2 extended . Which is plenty for a game. If you go the used route you could get it cheaper. But if you want an m4 I suggest going with a cyma sportsline one. They are about $200 you may have to put a different spring in it. I just bought and m16 made by cyma. It's really good, I put a 4x scope on it and I'm getting some good snipes from about 200ft on single. The gun also has full auto. The plus is it takes m4 style mags, if u have friends that have m4 mags you can borrow one of theirs or let them borrow one of yours. If you want a shotgun, I recommend going with the Cyma full metal shotgun, I believe it retails for about $110 and you can use pretty much any shells. However I DO NOT recommend a sniper for your first gun. I've been playing for 6 years now and I just bought my first sniper, if your patient you will enjoy it. But I hate waiting around, so I gave the sniper to my brother who is more patient lol. If you want an smg either go with the mp5 from H&K the $190 one, or go with the king arms pdw 9mm its $170 I believe. I personally bought this gun 6 months ago and it is amazing, it shoots around 350fps. Want it for cqb just put a lower rated spring in it.

Fourth Is the Colt Cybergub M4A1 sportsline RIS long barrel have a threaded barrel?

My first gun was a lancer tactical gen 2, awful awful gun, if you have your eyes on it just go for a combat machine if you want a M4, then I upgraded to a G&G SRS which was a great fun but I got bored of the M4 platform, and now I have a cyma ak74 ktr is that I’ve been upgrading over the past 5 months.

What would you guys recommend as an optic for a sai gry sbr? For about $150

What are good prices for SMGs? I’m looking at the king arms PDW 9mm SBR but it’s only 190$ is that good or should I invest into an MP5

I think one of the good beginner guns is a g&g arp 9 or the super ranger version of it at about 210 to 230 dollars

Defiantly a electric rifle what type of rifle is a preference from price and style and how you hold it. I say an electric rifle for the reason of it last a long time and is reliable I have an electric ar15 and it lasted me maybe 4 years and is still going like a beast

I personally think that the Tippmann commando 14.5 is a great starter at a good price point. I have had it since it released and it’s still running I haven’t had a problem with it yet.

Matt is 1000% right about the car guy thing. Just don’t look at what you’ve spent, that’s the same thing I do even with my airsoft gear.

I love my G&G ARP9 Fire, only wished it was the limit black orchid version.

A good quality spring pistol so you wont spend much (just loan a primary lol) and then a good aeg if you enjoy.

Keep doing theme episodes but with the helm of reasoning. Like the old Nsrts were all Q&A and all just generic airsoft questions. Keep the theme, but make all the questions about a certain topic

The asg devil cuse gearbox will not brake, upgrades will work will work with the most.

My Top 5: 1) G&G CM16 Raider 2) CYMA AK 3) Lancer Tactical MMC 4) Classic Army EC2 with ECS 5) KJW 1911. All of these are under $200 which is what I consider the ideal budget or beginner price point. To get into this hobby and play effectively isn't cheap. I feel like if someone is wanting to get into the hobby they should expect to atleast spend $400 total for your gun, eye pro, battery, charger, bbs, spare magazines, and face protection.

I think a million rounds is quite realistic. If you talking about playing way back in the day 18 years ago don't forget we didn't have midcaps back then. It was the lowcap that came with the gun or a hicap. A couple of hicaps, a brick of a battery firing from a stock TM gun. Full auto was the order of the day at least in England.

So my favorite airsoft gun that’s a beginner gun if I had to choose that’s less than 200 would be The Arcturus M-LOK NY-C3 I think it’s called. It’s good for the price you pay. You’ll get ambi controls, an M-LOK rail system made of aluminum, and a mid cap and really good feeling polymer and other things you’d want in an airsoft gun

Knight armament Helios Sr 16 mod 2. $215 and very good internals polymer body. Hits 419 fps regularly.

We/emg/aw pistols are ok, but not 100% marui compatible... The bbh-nozzle - piston is different most of the times, and the small hop up arm setup is not a great thing either. The may look nice for some, but imho tm is tm...

Literraly all of the g and g combat machines are good beginner guns and my particular favourites being the CM16 r8l and a cyma sr16e3. however if you were to go for a smg feel for a first gun i'd recommend the p90. its got pretty good quality outta the box and has got cheap mags

Double Bell is a pretty mediocre brand to be honest, I have yet to hear anything good about their gas guns. If you want a good modern 1911 looking gun try either the 1911 MEU or Desert Warrior 4.3 from Tokyo Marui, in fact pretty much anything from Tokyo Marui is a quality product and parts are everywhere for them.

I can confirm the Elite Force 1911 bit. I got the KWC 1911A1 100th anniversary edition back in 2011 ir 2012, and it only had to have the nozzle return spring replaced. I've probably put 1000 shots through it, and an unhealthy amount of dry firing and slide racking when I was younger and less educated. Get an EF 1911 or KWC 1911, they take the same mags and internal parts, and Angel Custom has an upgrade kit. This pistol will not dissapoint.

@@opairsoft8100 you can upgrade the barrel and bucking AFAIK, and Angel Custom makes an internal upgrade kit for EF/KWC 1911s now. Mine works fine, others may not. It doesn't have to have every part replaceable like a hicapa to be good and have upgrades.

I recommend people get the high end guns if they know they’re gonna stick with it. If they’re on a lower budget I recommend the Combat Machine but if they’d spend a bit extra I recommend the Specna Arms EDGE series because they’re newer and come with a lot out of the box compared to other Airsoft guns. My first gun was the VFC Avalon Calibur Carbine Gen 2. I’ve only recently gotten another primary which is the WE-Tech ACR. Really love the Remington handguard on it and the fact it’s 1:1 with the real thing. I’ve wanted an ACR since I was 9 playing MW2.

Top priority is RELIABILITY! No matter what airsoft gun you get, make sure it's a reputable, reliable one. Better accuracy/FPS is worthless if it doesn't even shoot.

I miss the helm of reason... it just made everything more personal.

Any G&G combat machine is a really good starter gun. They are super reliable and relatively cheap and light.

I had gotten my m4 for $150 on sale but it was normally a $200 dollar gun and I had it for about 1 year and in January the Gun Fried it’s self the wires were burned the motor and everything and I was only doing semi auto not even fast too. So I’m now looking at a way better gun it’s the elite force mk416 it’s a hefty price tho at $480 but I almost have the money to get it so hopefully that won’t burn out either

No tm hicapa? They're stupid reliable. Also, don't neglect cyma shotties, I've abused mine by taking it apart over and over, over the course of 3 years and its still running strong (haven't lubed it even ONCE).

I would say, an m4 is more of a must for entry do to how easy it is to fix and upgrade as well as decorating it. But as of price I wouldn't buy a gun under 200 to ensure that you dong get crap that destroys its self like dytack and aps.

M4 AEG and/or a CYMA AK AEG, has blowback pistol, and if you really have your heart set on something different, do lots of research and drop either the AK or M4. That’s good growth for the first 3 guns Do not get a gas blowback M4, AK, or anything other than pistol. You’ll need a growth period w the pistol before you go to the next level…. Trust

(Non-Airsofter opinion) I'd say just get a gun you really like, unless 1. The gun has proven to be unreliable and has poor reviews or 2. costs above $250-300 unless you know you love the sport. I'm not really a big fan of airsoft but I do have a friend who's heavily involved and invites me every now and then. My first airsoft gun was a Cybergun Desert Eagle and I've had it for 3+ years I think. (Keep in mind my guns have seen light use but this is my most used gun) When I found out the sport isn't my thing, I was still satisfied with the gun I got because I love this over-the-top hand cannon. I just go with guns that work and look cool and just have stupid fun whenever I decide to go. Other than that I got another Deagle (Akimbo Deagles always gets a reaction outta people, sadly the barrel got internally borked but I now have a two-tone desert eagle) the AEG Kriss Vector (I'm not getting a real civilian model, too expensive) and a Chiappa Rhino on preorder. (Still waiting on that one, wonder what's going on) Again, I'm just a dude who lightly follows the sport and occasionally plays with good friends so take this for what you will.
