I know there is one in Wyoming that is heavily guarded & looks like an abandon old building from above ground. Fortunately, if you talk to locals that work there you, find out what it really is. There is also one inside a mountain in Nevada & it has nothing to due with Area 51. I know one of the guards at the one in Wyoming makes $80k per year & never gets out of his truck.

There will be a nuclear reactor or two in there somewhere. No apocalypse survival base is going to rely on hydro with fossil fuel backup. And with a reactor, they can grow their own food down there.

I lived in a small fishing village on the west coast of Scotland which was the only land route to an RAF air base called Macrahanish just outside the town of Campbeltown. The town was the last stop at the end of a pernicula, west coast Scotland. The base had been open for many many years and slowly but surely it had started to become less and less occupied, with more and more of the personnel being cut and also living quarters becoming uninhabited. I knew many people, had many friends who over the years had lived and worked on the base both military and civilian. I knew the history of this base, there was both land, sea and obvs sky activity. It was an active base for many years. There had always been rumours of massive underground base and many many stories (from secret under water tunnel systems reaching 100 miles to little green men experimenting on Ur brain depending very much on what local you happened to bump into in the local pubs!) that came from this belief. However it was well known that slowly but surely it was becoming obsolete with it eventually going to close. Less and less people coming and going and more desolate with each passing season. Fewer and fewer strangers seen in the town and villages. In fact the slow decline of the base had a massive impact on the local economy. In the 24 hours after 9/11 all that changed. To cut a long story short about 24 hours after the attack on twin towers I awoke to the army taking over the roads through our village. For the next 6 days we were unable to travel outwith our village and considering we had one main harbour road and a few side streets it was like we were held prisoner. We were asked for our birth certificates, many of my friends who were fisherman from other countries at the time were taken in to be questioned and passports were taken. On the 3rd day when the phone lines stopped operating it was the only time I felt scared. It was when the lorries and trucks started driving through our tiny village that we knew it was to do with the base. Hour after hour after hour 24/7 for at least 3 days there was troops of army vehicles consistently going through our village towards the base. Massive full road wide trucks that needed to be helped to navigate the country roads wi flashing ammber lights so bright in the night sky. Carrying giant strangely shaped outline of secret structures covered in green tarpaulin, vehicle carriers with as many trucks as possible on the back. Medical trucks and lorries, huge blocks of concrete piping and slabs and so many more incrdible things. If u stopped to long to stare u would be told to move on, nothing to see. My mate took a couple of pics from his garden which was high above on the hillside looking over the road through the village. A few hours later him and his young wife and child were removed from the house. When they returned his camera wasnt there. And all the while these vehicles were surrounded with armed soldiers. Trucks and trucks of them. Never ending. It was absolutely mind blowing. But the most incredible part of the story is that to this day the base is still the way it was before they came. No extra people there. No extra people in Campbeltown, or the surrounding villages. No sign or sound of the things that came through our quiet village and never went back. U pass the base and it still looks like its closing down. It still seems like a base that is on its last legs. No one there. No-one to speak to. Fenced off with warnings. Nothing. I often lie awake at night wondering where all that went. Where all the people went. How can people and things just dissappear. It still is a talking point at Al lthe family dos I go to! Over the years before and after this there is reports on strange lights in the night sky, I've seen things myself over the years and strange lights, sounds out fishing on the lochs and Irish sea of the point. Small unihabiyated islands round the point that are fenced off with warnings all over but never in my 50+ years have I seen anyone on these islands. Never have I seen anything at the base in the last 35 years anyway. Its so incredible. Such a mystery. Ya it’s good to appreciate service men but people need to also know you can respect them and also be against their mission. I had relatives serve in the Middle East and they’re the reason I didn’t join the military. They told me what a waste of time it was and no one wanted them there. It made me question a lot of things. Some of the military is needed but other things like the pentagon failing audits for years now there’s no excuse in this high tech world for them to fail. If corporations nearing a trillion can pass an audit the freaking pentagon should be able to. It’s just shocking. Like are they lazy or just not wanting transparency just like the cia and will drag their feet and keep up not wanting transparency. I’ve been to los Alamo’s and the Trinity site of where they tested the bomb. That operation made sense to hide the spending during ww2. But like days before 911 a government guy admitted the pentagon lost 3 trillion dollars. Like there’s no excuse for that.

I worked there for three years. My work allowed me to cover the complete complex. A lot of walking. You stay busy and after awhile you forget you're in the mountain. I was lucky because I Stayed busy and didn't have the jobs where some are bored a lot of the time. It is very impressive and complex. This was years ago. One good thing about the Air Force. The ladies look great in there uniforms!

Wow thanks for taking me down memory lane. I was station there back in the early 90s. Haven't been back sense. Had a great time. Was my last assignment as I retired from there.

I live @ the edge of the des ert so uth we st...always loud booms daytime & evenings. Nobody has a clue. If leos know, they aren't saying. Also, very strange animal sounds...they sound like they are screeching with pain. Then there are unheard & unfelt earthquakes with a 5.4-5.6 reported. Neighborhoods & homes feel nothing. Pretty well explains where all the fresh water in rivers and lakes has suddenly disappeared to. Underground storage. It don’t DARE collect RAIN water! NOOOOOOOO!! CAN’T do THAT!! ILLEGAL after all. For those wondering about Area51, this is pretty much what it looks like down there. We did some construction many years ago. The surface is just an airport. There are about 8 levels that go into the rock. There are check points, first level is like a city. There's McDonalds, Wholesales etc, it's a city. Military personnel live there and live actively as if they would in any other city. There is a large bulkhead in the lake basin, that's where their experimental aircraft are lifted via an elevator. 2nd level is living quarters. 3rd level is underground railroads. 4th level is workshops and hangars. I'm not too sure, but below more still is supposed to be a nuclear power facility that generates energy strictly only for this city, nowhere else on the grid.

This is fascinating.

I've been in there several times when it was housing NORAD working on their weather satellite systems. In fact had devices I supported in the same room as the red phone. With top secret clearance it still took me hours to get cleared at the gate, even with a chaperone everywhere I went, yes including the bathroom. The facility was created in response to the cold war, with it's 'venturi' design. a blast from a nuke would blow through main channel while those massive doors would slam shut in seconds. Never experienced security like this, made me feel safe when I left each time.

I had a dream last year around this time just before I had a coma in the summer, and even after my coma, I remember that dream to exact detail. Looking at this underground footage, this is what it was like they have people that are underground that will never see the surface again, and when the women get pregnant, they take the babies and raise them underground. There are people that work the elevators and work the underground that are there so long for so many years their skin almost looks Gray. Some people that were kidnapped start to forget that they even lived on the surface, and there are some people that live down there that never knew what the world was like because all they know is the underground. Of course it's big, imagine a 2 story and 3 story building and place that inside a mountain and on springs. I don't think anyone thinks it's small. I been in the Deer Trail Titan 1 silo and it's huge, I know Cheyenne is even bigger by a lot. I do like how they play it off as not much goes on there but in reality a lot does and most of that space is still 1 of many bunkers that can house the President, Senate etc etc just in case. The think is the places we know about are not that big of a deal, how about the ones we don't know about?

I had a USAF Instructor who was once stationed there. He was very hyper vigilant.

People will think they are safe until they are locked in, running out of food & water because of malfunction of all that high tech equipment. When I watched the 100 and that scenario played out, gave me the chills. I would like to be like Octavia. Strong and resilient.

God tells his in his book there is nowhere they can hide from his wrath- neither in the deep underground nor in the deep sea or in the stars.... I believe him.

This was one of the locations were thousands of kids were rescued from.

Thank goodness for the people who give their all for our country!

I've been in there, only I can't say what's in there. It was my first and last time going in but was a once in a lifetime experience that today I still cannot believe I did what most cannot.

@@rickj1983 I know because I had the privilege to visit and see in person. What I meant by my comment about the movie Wargames, was that the scenes showing the command center and giant displays was fabricated specifically for that movie and they were impressive for that time. The USAF did not allow the film makers access for this movie. Side note: I really had to laugh at the scene in Wargames where the one officer in the launch control center refused to turn his key after verifying the launch order was valid.....nice one Hollywood.

I don't remember a gym or basketball court or a little store when I was there in 1979-1983. I do remember that walking in from the parking lot was unpleasant because of the car fumes that the few gas powered vehicles emitted that were allowed in. Our exercise was running down and up the mountain road, which was pretty steep. It was quite a place. I worked here (for NORAD/ADC then Adcom then Spacecom) and lived at Peterson AFB.

It's been awhile, 1973 or so, but I didn't have to walk very far. I was deposited a few yards from the Blast Doors. My exposure was pretty limited. I did see the spring mounted buildings and got a good view of some of the overhead rock that was secured by some kind of steel netting system to keep pieces of rock from falling. I was concerned only with some specific electronic equipment installed by the Air Force. Large as it is, it was never meant to house any kind of general population. It is strictly a command and control facility albeit a rather large one. I did not get a general tour of the place. I was not there for that purpose. Despite having a Top Secret Codeword clearance, I was guided to those areas I was specifically concerned with only. Anybody who has ever been in the business knows that "Need To Know" is the order of the day.

@@hrbricker There was a shuttle bus you could take rather than walking. You're right, it is (or was since NORAD moved out) a command control facility. The idea was to survive the initial attack and continue to operate for a while, not survive like a Vault Tec Vault in Fallout 4. When I was there, just wandering the halls required a Secret clearance and going into the offices required TS and various compartments. But "need to know" is important as well. As a place to work, it was interesting.

That was nice of someone to allow them a tour of their GTA bunker

uh, 1 mile is 2k feet? does that imply there is another 3,280ft of stuff below that?

My Mother was able to tour it before it was completed, and she said it was quite an undertaking! Her brother was an official in Pueblo and he pulled a few strings, So she had quite a treat!

Spent 4 wonderful years in Colorado Springs with the Army. Loved it. Still have friends who have become family there. Fort Carson is at the base of the the mountain and in the 80’s NORAD was inside. We all knew that if the balloon went up, we were done. Oh well that’s what you kinda sign up for I guess 🤣

He said the he saw the end times and WW3 but he said before the war there would be aliens that will be "eating people/humans." This scared me and I thought about the Schneider incident. Furthermore, I watch a movie last summer entitled 'Midnight Meat Train'. The ending is disturbing.
