What's P&S Absolute Rinseless Wash actually like to USE?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

You've seen it talked about, but now we're actually going to USE it! For those with questions about P&S Absolute Rinseless Wash, this video will hopefully answer your car care questions and more!
When P&S Chemicals started Developing Absolute Rinseless Wash, they knew that had some big shoes to fill! After all, there's several outstanding Soap Alternatives already in the market. However, using their own take on Chemistry, they've managed to create something unlike the rest! Something unique, something efficient, something Absolute.
So, what is it? Absolute Rinseless Wash was formulated from the ground up as a Premium Soap Alternative. Utilizing a unique subset of Polymers, Absolute Encapsulates and Emulsifies Dirt beyond what soap is capable of. Water is instantly softened upon mixture of Absolute, thus reducing chances of hard water spotting. The end-result is a purely clean and slick surface. Absolute allows you to wash vehicles anywhere, anytime. Whether you are a detailing professional or passion driven enthusiast, absolute is safe and easy to use on all exterior and interior surfaces. Designed for use on Paint, Coatings, Wraps, PPF, Trim, Plastics, Leather and Upholstery.
Absolute is, without doubt, the slickest standalone rinsless that we have used. (and we've tested them all) TRC has worked closely with P&S to give feedback on what our customers want in a rinseless, and they have checked all the boxes. Unlike our other rinseless offerings, Absolute is thicker in liquid form, and slicker on surface application. The water softening ability is insanely effective for direct sun washes. We think you'll love this product as much as we do!

    Been using absolute for about a month now. It's insane how you can use like 2oz of product to clean your entire vehicle. (If you're doing weekly maintenance washes) It's also saved me a bunch of time. I'm in no way a professional detailer but rinseless cut my wash time in half compared to a traditional 2 bucket method. The versatility is insane too.

    Hands down my fave rinseless but I should offer my user experience when using Absolute in the steamer for interiors...be very exact with your dilution here, it can leave a very hard to remove white residue on black interior vinyl almost like glue spatter, I use a Chief 125 machine which siphon feeds continuously as you go, so mix very well beforehand and you'll be fine but don't exceed 256:1 measure it out properly. But this is best rinseless on the market bar none and smells great

    You can probably apply it with a foam cannon for a presoak, but it isn't going to make any difference when combined with soap. I would say just skip the soap entirely and embrace rinseless washing. You can still pressure wash beforehand when needed, but the rest of the rinseless process replaces the need for soap entirely.

    If we were to address a “bird bomb” in an “emergency” situation - we’d typically use a waterless wash for one of the safer methods for example. I don’t see Absolute having a waterless wash dilution per se (not all rinseless formulations have that) - do you feel at 128:1 it would be safe in that regard. Have you tested any dilution ratios where you feel Absolute would be safe to use ad a waterless wash? Thanks TRC!

  • @jeffc6832

    @jeffc6832

    Жыл бұрын

    I would use the 64:1 QD dilution in that case. Hydrate the bird bomb as much as you can, spray down your towel and try to scoop it off. Then respray and wipe until clean. I really like the fluffy side of a creature towel for the dirty parts of this. Thick enough to be safe, cheap enough to throw away. Use a nice fluffy Eagle 350 or 500 for the final wipe once the poop is gone.

    I'm a chauffeur with a black car - I just use plain demineralised water for bird bombs when mobile, sprayed liberally. Let it soak, then using a FEATHER touch, wipe back & forth. (I use a MF towel) If it doesn't all come off the first time, repeat as required. This works well for me. The key is to only apply extremely light pressure. If any simply won't budge, leave it for when chemicals are available. (I don't know whether a rinseless is any more effective than plain water or not - it may well be - I simply don't know)

    Rinseless washing has never taken off here in the UK, for various reasons. But one thing rinseless apparently does is "incapsulate the dirt", if that's the case why don't people spray on this product then pressure wash it off, surely if the product does this to the dirt then using a PW will be safer and quicker than wiping with say 6 microfiber cloths ? But yet never seen anyone use that method.

    The idea of rinseless wash is to use less water, so pressure washing would defeat the purpose of the rinseless wash. In some areas here in the states, they have water conservation laws in place, which restricts water usage, so bucket/rinseless washing is the only viable means to wash your vehicle.

  • @jeffc6832

    @jeffc6832

    Жыл бұрын

    ONR may not feel very slick to your hand, but it is as far as the paint is concerned (as long as you aren't using too much pressure). Absolute has the added benefit of feeling more slick to your overthinking Detailer's Brain. Multiple towels work, but you need to be even more cautious when it comes to how much pressure you are using. The UBS is great at lifting and holding dirt until it goes back into the bucket where it fully releases it. This is where I really like ONR and Absolute, they let that dirt drop to the bottom of the bucket, below the grit guard. N914 holds it in suspension.

    I am going to try it but I am still not being told the advantages. In the info interview all that was really said is that it's new. Which is great and all but ONR is a new formula. I have some tests I am going to try and they where hard to come up with because really how much room is there for improvement? I don't really understand the slickness thing beyond user experience. I have never had a customer bring up slickness. I have never used ONR and thought, "Wow, this drags." Who knows. I might be so wrong I am forced to commit Seppuku in front of my family or rethink how I do things. That would be cool actually. So what is my point? Marketing is weird and us detailers are silly creatures who care about things that don't matter which is why we are good at what we do. We get stupid about meaningless details. One thing is for sure. You can pry Opti-Seal out of my cold dead hands.

  • @jayhoughton558

    @jayhoughton558

    I don’t think you are wrong. Even now TRC admits ONR works just fine and it’s not like they are even replacing ONR with this. They are a business to sell products, and I would say they do a good job of ensuring they really only sell ‘good’ products. But if they don’t add new things they will just become non-relevant. So they must keep up with things, innovate where they can, and bring new things to consumers. It’s just good business. As long as these products bring some value to the comsumer I don’t see an issue with that. All that said, if you take ONR as the basic standard, and you look at what most of the ‘compliaints’ are, which are mostly user experience things, they usually are ‘it’s not slick’. Although I don’t agree it causes any issues with using it, when compared to N914, ONR simply isn’t as slippery. If users interpret this as a problem then it makes sense someone creating a new one would make that kind of a change (and others) to make the user experience the best possible that they can.

    @@theragcompany I would be incredibly surprised if this isn't just all marketing hub-bub. I will wait to see all of the comparison videos between yours, McK, WG, ONR, etc. If those go well, maybe I will buy a bottle and try it out. Good luck on the product

    @@sciencesaves Everything is marketing! I would encourage you to compare them directly and see what works best for you in the real world. Differences between rinseless products, soaps, wheel cleaners, etc are very difficult to show on camera...and you end up just relying on the subjective opinion and biases of the person making the video. I've spent a ton of money on a bunch of different rinseless wash products, but nothing has ever eclipsed ONR for my personal needs. Absolute has a very different consistency and feel than any other rinseless, and it is very hard to describe other than to say that it feels much more slick on the surface. It feels more like soap, without being soap...and it wipes away very easily with no residue.

    Different chemical make up is the point they are making. As opposed to just copying the chemical makeup of another product and changing the scent. ONR is great. But no other company should be put down for just for making their version of it. It’s not like it would benefit consumers if each company was limited to making one product. Most companies have selections for soaps, APC’s, etc. now rinseless has become popular enough (thanks to ONR?) that other companies are seeing value in adding it to their lineups as well.

    ONR was a copy of Quick Easy Wash. Because of guys like Scottwax Ivan and Dan from Opti it became popular. Now Dan in heading up Owner Pride, Ivan is doing trainings everywhere and helping Nick with DIY Detail, and Scottwax disappeared. Just tried Absolute this evening, I’ll never buy ONR again.

    Umm.. the title is ‘What's P&S Absolute Rinseless Wash actually like to USE?’ Pretty sure they covered that in the video…. In other videos they have explained it’s slicker, softens water better, smells different, and is built off different polymers than any other rinseless. To name a few… There are several interviews around with the chemist even. Lots of info out there.

    Should they compare and contrast the different soaps they sell too? If they talk about differences, then people are going to get upset because it might cast ONR in a negative light (after they have been promoting it for years). Bottom line is this, both are extremely effective rinseless products that go about it in different ways chemically. This is an entirely new formulation with new base chemistry. Some people will like Absolute, some will stick with ONR. Some will use both! There is room for more than one rinseless at TRC...get used to it.
