    I had that very experience with DIY when I tackled super super dirty door jambs and trunk jamb. This was my sister's car which she doesn't care too much about so I decided to do a test using purely rinseless on those areas. The bucket looked so nasty filthy dirty and I could barely see my hand when I put it in there, but everytime, the wash media came out clean and ready to pick up more filth and dirty and then release it into the bucket. That sold me.

    Agree. I just did a nasty rinseless wash from all the salt and road film using 2 buckets. The wash bucket was filthy black and rinse was a little dark but not as bad. Everytime I took the sponge out, it was clean.

    EC you failed to include a control solution, just plain water. Yes wood floats to the top and real dirt will drop to the bottom (under a grit guard) and then the suspension will be seen. Hopefully it is shedded from the MF rags but then again that MF fingers tend to hold onto junk. Thank for pointing out the issue of proper DILUTION.

  • @benwallace1071

    @benwallace1071

    8 сағат бұрын

    And to add to this, you agitated and dipped DIY MF in the solution more than any other brand (which will remove more dirt). If you were to do this test again, weight out the amount of dirt to eliminate another variable. Pay attention to how they are submerged in the solution (dirt folded into MF vs dirt on the exposed side of the MF). Lastly, not rinsing the measuring cup between each measurement created cross contamination. Ideally, an entirely new (virgin) measuring cup for each product. Not a criticism, just suggestions of improvement on testing to remove more variables. I agree that proper dilution was a big miss on the other videos.

    I can attest to the difference between DIY And ONR. I started my rinseless journey with ONR and always hated how greasy and gross the big red sponge would get. I would have to clean it with dish soap to get all of the grease out. I NEVER have to clean the sponge using DIY rinseless. It’s always PERFECTLY clean. I was shocked the first time I experienced it!

    I love these comparo videos and imho the test needs to be done again just because the towel is too big for the cup which can be debated that its not what we do in real the real word. The only conclusive is all of them pulls down dirt , how much thats debatable and if i were to judge ONR kills the other ones on this test because its the only one thats not murky meaning it pulled and kept the dirt down on the bottom which is the goal on this test. I'd say do a video on how the product was intended to be used properly ie in a bucket with the proper amount of water , dilution and recommended mit, rag , microfiber or foam.

    For having tried Onr and Diy detail rinseless. My biggest concern with Onr was how my big red sponge stayed dirty to a point I had to washed it after every wash with detergent. With Diy detail my sponge stay ultra clean like nothing sticks to it. For that, my vote goes to Diy detail. When my car is very dirty I used a two bucket method. Mixed 2 oz of rinseless in 4 gallons of water then pour almost half In a second bucket so before going back to the car my sponge is super clean.

My first thought about the other videos was that dirt is heavier. so of course it's going to sink to the bottom, but "encapsulation" means that the dirt *should be* evident within the mix, not separated. THIS Eddie finally got me to understand and believe in rinselss! My synapses finally connecting the dots of all these terms and claims! Finally got emulsification vs. encapsulation and how they each matter for cleaning paint without scratching. Thank you rinseless sensei! I've got flat black soft Japanese paint and it's so freaking hard to prevent swirl marks, tried McKees v1 and just swirled the hell out of it so went back to soap (BH autowash, the best imo), but I wash outside so always chasing waterspots. You're finally convincing me to try rinseless and see how safe and easy the process is vs. soap.

    My car is coated with Opti-Coat Pro3 and Opti-Coat Pro+. I've gotten the impression from Optimum that ONR bonds with their ceramic coatings as does Hyper-Seal. When my car gets really dirty from road salt I will first spray the lower panels with Optimum Power Clean which I rinse off with water. But normally I spray on Opti-Coat No Rinse and then do a contact wash with that and the black sponge. I use Hyper-Seal as a drying aid. My car looks great. Am I being suckered by thinking that Optimum products bond chemically with the ceramic coating?

    Hey my friend first thanks for watching second - I would ask Yvan lacroix - I don’t know the “claimed science “ how can hyper seals nbond “ when chemically it is a just a sealant any ceramic sio2 topper would do the same thing “bond “ To the sio2 on the pant

    I think maybe they were talking of the Opticoat rinseless. That one has a bunch of additives intended to help their coatings. The normal ONR is touted for it's lack of strong bonding. Always be careful not to read too much into the grievances of colorful personalities. The reality is that you purchased a premium product for your vehicle. It's reasonable to expect with care and maintainance you will enjoy the attributes of the coating for the guaranteed life of the product. So, there is no real reason to search for faults in your purchase. I mean really, how many microfiber towels that are stained get used daily all over the world. Does being stained mean there is grit present? I don't know. I've had things run through the washing machine that stay stained despite the solids that caused the stain being gone. Even those we admire are not immune to their biases. And that's ok. It's why I take everything with a grain of salt. Even from my favorite celebs.

    So a question for your @Eddie - so there is suspended dirt in the cups, would that mean that’s dirty water, so when re-dipping your wash media and ringing it out, are them using dirty water to wash the vehicle?

    And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the very reason why you use ultra black sponge or big red sponge or legacy sponge or other similar sponge media with rinseless. I’ve been washing our 3 daily drivers every week mostly with ONR but had a chance to do with DIY and absolute for the past 2 years. No issues whatsoever on all three but I still stuck with ONR cause I bought a coupe of gallons of it. I noticed the differences but im not eager to change my solution. In fact, my main concern was washing the wash media which is a burden to be honest hence the reason why I switched to UBS a little over 2 years ago. Even Yvan himself mentions that the sponge was designed specifically for rinseless Good test Eddie. 👍

    We need allot more of these testings being done but the reason why the two best products are doing so well is because they of the newest chemicals. I’m sure the rinseless products of other brands have to step up with the newest chemicals. Also, most brands are using outside blender may not be doing any any in house research and development to come out with something original could be a problem with testing against other brands. I would definitely choose the two leading brands in this video but it’s best to get rid of the products we have an learn a work around method to the dirt in the bucket problem. I also use rinseless wash products and the microfiber method. What I do is use a pump sprayer with a rinseless wash a spray off as much dirt a see if that method can emulsify the dirt before taking the micro fiber and rinseless wash to the vehicle. It’s good enough for me .
