Jed Bartlet as flawed as he was on the show, would still in the real world be the best president since Lincoln. We sure need someone in reality like him.

This TV series (apologies I can't call it a show, because a show is one dimensional and fleeting) has FANTASTIC writing, internal dialogue that makes you rewind to ensure you capture exactly what was said, the ability to look at the world and hypothetical situations and present a case for what LEADERSHIP would look like. Based on a Democrat it portrayed the best and worst of both side of the aisle. But in the end, it was all about the characters and how brilliantly the actors portrayed them. Their absolute trust, loyalty and belief that their colleague was a committed to doing their best. Off the top of my head, Charlie defending CJ against the disrespectful kid. "I go to cosmos on Sunday" Leo asking Ainsley, Is your dad proud of you! Sam's speech he wrote after the pipe bombing at the university Toby, crumbling up the piece of paper when Will writes his speech on the notepad. But the absolute best moments in my opinion: Leo to Josh, "a man who falls into a hole....... As long as I have a job, you have a job" Toby to President Bartlett "I can only hope" after the death of the veteran In Excelsis Deo Charlie getting the knife off the President, from the silversmith PR. Josh and Sam protecting Leo once the opposition knew he was a drug addict. "I will bust you like a pinata" President Bartlett "Mistaking this for a meeting of your ignorant tight ass club" "In this building when the President stands nobody sits" and then the look. Wow the look. Bartlett calling Donna's ex teacher I loved the female characters in this series. All characters were scared of getting on the wrong side of CJ. They all knew she had skills they didn't. Joey had them all in the palm of her hand. Ainsley was stunning but proved she was incredibly smart. Leo's legal council stole his heart in his deposition. Debbie replacing Mrs Landingham Abigail, and her magnificent breasts (Lord Malbury)
