No he wouldn't. As an economist, he'd understand that employers and employees have to accept changing industrial conditions. Seasons for series is going down. Which means writers are expected to work on more than one series at the same time. Coz the writers will not be engaged for the whole year. The writers are essentially asking to be paid when they aren't working.

And like everything with Sorkin based on a misunderstanding. Homosexuality is listed next to incest, beastiality and child sacrifice in Lev 20, all those moral laws are most certainly still in effect. Acts 15, Galatian and Hebrews explain why the sacrificial, ceremonial, dietary laws etc are fulfilled.

I am Brazilian, and about in year 2000 we have just got cable TV at our home, when I saw my pre-teenage boys addicted to a TV show, that I thought it was quite complex for them to understand - in English with English subtitles - but that was it, The West Wing. I immediately got addicted too, it was a politics and history class for me, I was interested in how the US Government works, the inside of the White House, the characters in the Bartlet administration were my heroes. Later on we bought all the DVDs, I have them to this days, I can play them in my laptop with an external drive, and from time to time I watch some episodes. Good time were those! Congrats, Aaron Sorkin, you’re a genius!Martin Sheen, you’re a great actor, congrats for the fantastic job you did as a Nobel Prize winner and President Bartlet!

It was a father to son tradition. I know in todays woke world that is hard to imagine. The symbolism here is that he had no sons of his own but Charlie who had grown up without a father and lost his mother had earned the trust, respect and love of the president. The Bartlett daughters would have been well aware of the family tradition and I would say all would have approved of their fathers choice. Really is a beautiful story line that was woven through the episode.

The father-son relationship is a distinct one. And it should be noted that Bartlet didn't have a son and Charlie didn't have a father. It's a symbol affirming how they see each other. Also, it's his fucking knife. You give yours to whomever you like.

@@charlesrussek7118 The question is reasonable, not woke, what ever that is. I agree with your point that it is a father to son tradition. I think you could have simply made your statement without the insult by leaving out woke.

I love this show, one of my favorites... and Martin Sheen is an outstanding actor... as is evident by portraying the perfect Republican even though his character was democrat...

Agree 💯 Besides Democrat, Republican and Independent, they should add a new party, the Bartlett party, on ballots eh?👍

You talk big, but the fact that your republican party hasn’t had the balls to speak up about anything since the parties switched says everything 😘 Lincoln would condemn you all, your glorified Reagan couldn’t win an election these days amongst his own party because trump traitor sycophants would deem him too liberal. Imagine that. Yeah, I’m a liberal, and I think that Biden sucks. But your chosen god sucks the devils anus so, soooooo much harder. Watch more of The West Wing. Expand your horizons. Learn something. Be better 😘👍🏼

The show went so severely downhill when the Bartlett administration was no longer the storyline.

I’ve been waiting for 20 years to see a presidential candidate like Jed Bartlet. And now we have him, and his name is RFK junior. #RFKJr2024
