Great video Jurdi! I'd like to see a variation of "Touched by the light" from wrath in prot tree. But instead of only strenght giving spell power, i think they should mix so you gain from both strenght and int, but in a well mixed number. Because so much pally gear got STAM and INT. It would be huge to get spellpower from Int :O

Need to give Crusader Strike seal refresh like TBC, so 3 pallys in a raid = all seals up.

10 or 15 mins buffs would already make a massive difference to my world

Imagine 25 man raids with 5 min buffs..... hell

They should add a holy dmg deep wounds rune for autos, CS, and DS. The buffed deep wounds that warriors currently have in SoD. Possibly not a very creative solution, but thats a ton of good, scaling damage for Ret.

I like the reset of cooldowns! That is actually very good idea. I hate having ton of buttons to smash.

At some point we gotta ask ourselves if we’re playing classic, or retail with classic bosses

Rune of the Avenger ( increases Paladins parry chance by 5% and in addition every time you parry attack your next ability or spell is 100% critical )

Hope they add a paladin twist you could go Dark Paladin or stay in the Light and have uniq runes for what you choose to be.

i would LOVE that, I'm hoping this path of arthas idea isnt just a dream!!

1 my re active ability for each spec, several niche passive utility runes (that are situational) and 30min blessing

I've also thought about the thing with Ada Gelhardt and it does sound cool, but I very much don't want to have to play a dark knight if I want to dps when I chose a holy knight.

I get you. If they did go those route, hopefully both light and dark builds would be viable

Rune of improved Blessing of Freedom and Protection ( in addition you get 20% improved movement speed and 10% of your health )

A pally death grip would be HUGE, especially for pvp since we’re on limited mobility

I think there’s a system blizzard has that would prevent the opposite factions gear dropping in raids

I don’t think howling blast is tinfoil hat. They’ve basically shown it to us already and the Ada theory grounds it in SoD lore. Seal of martyr conflicting with divine storm is problematic though. Martyr doesn’t do much more damage over a fight than command does. So why sacrifice divine storm when I can get the same damage from command and have divine storm as well.

Would like to see seal of improved Consecration ( amount that deal damage also heal you and your allies that stands in it + also slow down enemy movement while standing in it by 50%)

You can’t add more abilities without addressing the mana issues. Judgement of wisdom and divine plea runes . They for sure need to give us wings .

I really hope they actually try to make new abilities rather than recycle old ones . It would make it more interesting .

Shadow paladin would be awesome idea

The talent where crits apply a dot for % damage of crit would be nice but idk if it’s worth rune slot And I think augmented seals is gonna be like judgement of the wise with replenishment for raid Edit: also they should just change turn undead into turn evil…

I just leveled a rogue, warrior, and pally to lvl 25. I really want to play my paladin the most. I love the rotation and having DS in classic is amazing. The only issue is mana. For this reason I may have to go back to my warrior and/or rogue. I think if exorcist(with the rune) and DS were mana free like CS we would be in a good place.

Mana consumes have always been important for Ret,as prot u won't go oom, but I'd rather not have them turn the manabar into a Ressource for healing mostly.

@@JurdiJD yeah, as tank, mostly in Ret spec with a 2h, while mana is basically infinite when maintanking a boss trash pulls can feel soo horrible since mobs don't do much damage at all so you won't be getting healed either. I'm using lesser mana pots and am drinkwalking on trash so my grp doesn't have to wait for long regen breaks.

Yeah mail gear (plate later) with spellpower is tricky, cause horde has no use for it. Blizzard stated that this was intended to avoid a lot of drops that nobody can use, but they also admitted that they went to far with it in this phase.

Do they have a system that prevents alliance and horde from getting the opposite factions gear? I don’t recall ever seeing shaman gear in 2019 classic as an alliance player in the 40man raids. If so, I could see how it could be implemented in these level up raids

Just make paladins' holy damage scale with attack power instead of spellpower 😬

My biggest issue with phase 2 is the uncertainty around professions. Leatherworking gave the bis gloves for Ret this phase. I know this is a min max perspective, but I really don't want to have to abandon my professions to pick up others. That's time and gold I really don't have.

They gave leather workers 2 different options, one for casters/healers and one for physical dps. Would love to see that for BS as well.

I never made switch leather working as I've been playing prot I also came to the conclusion that if there is new crafted epic surely there would be a plate DPS/tank option

My wants in order: #1 Wings #2 Free instant flash of light procs #3 Devine steed #4 Hammer of wrath (as a proc and execute) #5 Longer duration on seals #6 Some type of mana efficient rune thats worthwhile

Touched by the light would be so sick. Potentially change it to boost consecration scaling with spellpower so you can do a TBC prot build. Strength to spellpower would fit the current meta to stack stamina and strength and could result in a pretty cool sword and board tbc spellpower aoe tank. It always felt so good blocking so much and doing dmg with consecration, holy shield, blessing of sanctuary, reckoning, and seal of righteousness

Adding multiple judgements like in wrath should not happen, having a single judgement ability + 30s seals is a defining feature of the Paladin class in classic wow. Seal of wisdom will be available at lvl 38 which can be judged by a holy paladin if there are mana problems in the raid, but we are still miles ahead of the mana problems in original classic thanks to crusader strike. They ought to buff Seal of Martyrdom (perhaps add 1 mob cleave + allow persistence/seal twisting) so that Divine storm isnt always the strictly better choice. Sword and board protection paladin wasnt really a thing at low levels in classic, hopefully they add some plate with spellpower at lvl 40 to accomodate the AoE tankadin playstyle. However, for single target tanking, a hybrid ret/prot build with AP focus was also superior in original classic. Adding some DK abilities sounds cool and I hope we get a dark knight archetype

Aggrend said that the howling blast rune was just a troll but idk maybe they will go with the fallen paladin story

As a shockadin memer I’m buzzing for p2. Holy shield damage will be sick hopefully we will actually get decent plate or mail gear for holy pals :(

Yeah that was pretty interesting to not even have mail healing gear (although there is A LOT of gear on every boss in BFD)

I have 0 problems with mana on my retpala, I have around 950 mana. Obviusly I use lesser mana pots and engineering, but still, the only fight I'm having problems is Akumai and Kelris. And last 1-2 runs I was able to manage my mana better and never go oom.

Everyone forget Holy paladins need buffs now…give us holy shock with instant flash of light if shock crits, sacred shield and aura mastery…that would be the best.

They will add Holy Shock for sure

with the new mentality of small raids holypalas need something to convert their blessing of light since otherwise we will most likely never be allowed to get use out of it.

I really enjoyed phase 1 Paladin Tanking, at first i did shield and one hander then moved to 2 hander tanking when i got better gear. Taunt makes the whole difference. Phase 1 was amazing.

I hope they dont add multiple judges tbh. Hoping we get something unique that isnt just lifted from Wrath. Some more buttons to press on a sword and board tank would be sweet and a battlehealer gameplay style would be sick.

Yeah I felt bad during my editing process when I noticed everything was from wrath. I think we are due for a rune that’s not an in game ability yet. (One we’ll actually use I mean)

Scaling still being an issue, hybrid tax and all, Paladins are great as a whole. For us to take to the next level we need damage cooldown, be it Avenging Wrath or Guardian of Ancient Kings remains to be discovered (badumm tzzz). For Ret to be fully viable they simply need to allow us to Seal Twist Martyr and Command (the TBC playstyle). Holy will become viable with gear, stacking intellect and going melee with Crusader Strike etc... like Holy needed more mana efficiency. Prot, like Holy, needs gear and talents for additional threat. I'd like to see the strength to spelldamage convertion talent added as a glyph to fully unlock Prot (and Ret).

I hope we don't get some form of death knighty paladin. Aggrend mentioned that Howling blast 100% wont be added, and i think it would break that classic wow vibes SOD is still sorta running with.

Ardent defender and howling blast have both been confirmed to not be in the game we're definitely not getting either of those runes and thank god because ardent defender feels so lame in classic.

Rets scale hard with gear

the worst thing they ever did to paladin was make it to where they needed strength instead of SP an intellect. im not a warrior, i am a paladin that uses mana. either add more gear, or gives us something touched by light but where an amount of int u get equals SP. this whole strength thing needs to go (on a prot paladin atleast)

Holy shock Improve rune....like melee attack have 30% chance to reset holy shock CD :)

please no more wotlk abilities. already feels like just a warrior with a blue bar. but since most abilities that arent wotlk ones are just lifted from pservers, give rets dual wield like on duskhaven. that combined with access to judge wis we get with seal of wisdom at 38 will fix a deece amount of ret mana issues.

Seal twisting is not a fun mechanic, it’s awful and people only say they live it because it increases your dps. It’s terrrible
