Thanks for this video. Very helpful. Would love it, if you do an in-depth on the drop in call process. Do you need another Echo to be able to do video calls? or can you do it from Android/iPhones?

It's the first Echo Show 8 with the Zigbee Hub feature so I thought it'd be pretty helpful.

I bought the Echo show 8 2nd gen on Black Friday for $54.99 with a blink mini included. I love it so far Great video as always sir

I have the 2nd Gen show 8 in my bedroom and just purchased the 3rd Gen show 8 to sit under my display in the living room.

Maybe I missed it but what are you using most around the house these days? Google or Amazon? I'm still back and forth debating on switching to Alexa, but I got my Nest Hello's. I don't like how Ring doesn't record 24/7 and only when things happen which is likely to get missed.

I am about 80% Google around the house but in some areas I have Echos for Drop In and other features. I think it's time I make a detailed comparison of the two.

Had mine since launch. Have noticed that photo frame worked fine and constantly cycled photos all day with rotation with local weather. Now it only cycles all photos once and the weather is never shown. Must say I could not figure out how to delete and add widgets and this video helped with that.

I still need to figure out the best way to get the home page to show what you want. I'll share once I have the results.

Can you change the default position of the clock or is it still in the lower left corner? I have the Echo 8 2nd gen...My bed is kind of high and blocks the clock making it kind of useless as a clock. I would be able to see if the default can be changed to the top left or right.

I just bought the echo show 8 3rd gen and I love it, the sound that comes from it is amazing but my real purpose for buying it is for my new ring doorbell

Are you getting the Samsung galaxy Buds FE?

I like cam shutter feature, i trust it more.

Nice upgrade from my 1st gen, but why the thoughtless decision to give you a white power cord with a black unit? Mine were.color-matched.

@@TechWithBrett Maybe they save a penny on production. I have a charcoal black echo speaker on a black lacquer cabinet, and the white cord looks like crap. I think they want you to purchase a black replacement on their website, right?😠

Didn’t have much luck with the 3rd Gen Show 8. The screen displayed “loading” and would not advance. I tried resetting, unplugging for 30 or 40 seconds. Nothing seemed to work. Too bad, I was looking forward to the upgrades on this unit. Back to my Gen 1.

Sent both mine back! The spatial audio really affected my hearing! It sounded like the vocals were in a echoed room.ive now replaced them with the show 10 3rd gen.👍

Yes, the clock will almost always be on display.

Hell I'm still using the original tube tower echo that cost $175 bucks, but from what I can tell the sound from these new ones isn't any better then my old monster

In Australia ,there is no support,no phone contact,no assistance,you have to work it out all by yourself.

Mine has 2 profiles of me also. The 2nd one is only my first name. I didn't put it in and I can't take it out.

Check under the family section in the app to see if you can remove one. I actually have the same problem and have no idea how to get rid of it.

I can't remove it from the app on my phone or from the Show 8 itself. It gives me the option to edit it, but never to remove it. I've even edited out my name, but it still shows it as a profile.

Tired of them putting bezels on this. We're in 2024. It's time to remove the bezel.

The weather app is terrible on the alexa devices where i live. Google weather is more accurate.

What a pretty name! Yes you can in yhe settings. You can change the wake word to: Echo, Computer, Amazon or Ziggy.
