A few episodes ago, I asked if anyone else had noticed how giggly Dorothy seems to be these days. I don't know if she has a new love in her life or a new prescription, but she seems to really be enjoying herself recently. (I know I'm talking as if this was the present instead of 64 years ago, but I'm watching these in chronological order)

Back in the early 1980's, 6 of us sang backup for Steve and Eydie at the MGM Grand. Glorious Don Costa arrangements and a 60 piece orchestra. Class "A" all the way. Steve was all business like but Eydie was relaxed, down to earth and chatty. It was an extremely rare occasion that they used backups. We were introduced as "The Steve and Eydie's."

I noticed before that when contestants occupation is finally revealed, Bennett seems to immediately review the questions he asked to see if he was satisfied with the accuracy of the answers. Obviously it irked him because here, 2 contestants later, he's still thinking about the interpreter. Just couldn't let it go lol. His other funny quirk was trying to make a judgment based on where someone lived. While he indeed did seem to be aware of the major industry in any given area, it rarely worked to his advantage.

I don't blame the odd celebrity that decided against sounding silly by putting on a funnt voice. Ricky Nelson also chose to speak normally. Just like the celebrity guests were hesitant to respond that they were attractive or talented (John would always chime in and answer that question for them), one would think they also would consider it to an arrogant assumption that they were so famous that their mere voice would be instantly toy recognizable.

If you google the trash collector's name "Dale Fogle" it automatically adds "New Kensington, PA." If you hit enter it returns an address and even a phone number. If that is the same guy it lists him as born in 1929.Assuming it's the same person that would make him 29 here. There's an obit for a Dale Fogle from Garrett, PA that lists 1936 - 2013 (which would've had him live to 77). If this is the guy then he would be 22 here.

I don't usually indulge in the revisionist nonsense of "who or what has been underappreciated" but for Eydie Gorme I feel more than justified in doing so; in music history and culture, she has been truly under-rated. (Steve Lawrence, I can do without.) Ms. Gorme's vocal stylings and song arrangements are above par. I enjoy her records more than I do of Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, et. al.

Bennett was incredulous that the final round came all the way back to him. Arlene guessed bus driver and as soon as she said bus the audience responded with heavy applause. When Arlene got the "no", Bennett put two and two together and realized it had to be something else to do with a bus. Somehow Martin and Dorothy didn't get it. They were questioning about different kinds of drivers.

They have many guests that come from England and other foreign shores and I wonder if the budget for the show extended to paying for these people to fly to the states or whether they were in the USA at the time. The production appears to be quite minimal in the costings so I often wondered if there was a high cost of putting people on the show. I can understand them flying them over and giving accommodation to guests from other states but wondered about the international guests and he budget there. Do you have any idea of the production costs for this show. love the show by the way and thanks for loading them

Purple Capricorn -- We could possibly discuss a resemblance to Arlene, perhaps due to hairstyle and makeup more than anything else, but I see no resemblance to Babs whatever.

ToddSF 94109 When I "Bing-ed" her there are some pictures where I saw a resemblance. The picture used on her IMDB page is the one I say shows a resemblance. Alot of the mystery guest I look them up because I wasn't born in those times. I grew up in the 90s and watched a lot of Disney and TvLand (when there were actually old shows like Leave it to Beaver, I love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, Emergency, Charlies Angels, Adam 12, Dragnet, etc....) I also listened to music from the 50s, 60 and 70s a kid/teen. Those were good eras tv, music and movie-wise. I started watcing WML clips of some of my favorite actors/actresses,but recently started watching full episodes. I didn't like older games hows, but there is something about this one that I really love and I'm sure it was because of Arlene Francis, Bennett Cerf and John Daly....sometimes Dorothy.

Bennett's demeanor tonight was particularly distasteful. Besides asking last week's pajama model to send in her telephone number, he was a sore loser twice. When the first contestant was revealed, Bennett had a look of disdain on his face that could have rivaled Queen Victoria's "We are not amused." When he got Orloff wrong, he started off the second round by saying he wanted an honest answer from John this time, and halfway through that guest, he was still complaining about how that was resolved. Bennett often challenges John's rulings after he gets a "no" and he is always wrong. But Bennett's ego can never get him to admit that he is ever wrong -- it is always John's fault. It is true that John sometimes answers in a truthful but misleading way, and sometimes he answers incorrectly, but he is not dishonest. Bennett never thinks he could be wrong.

His leering and inappropriate comments to women were distasteful. Q. Victoria actually stated that she never said that, Princess Alice specifically asked her.

I find Bennett to be rather childish. And he thinks he's brilliant and important. But he's not. He's one of my least favorite panelists, but I know he's popular with most here.
