regarding Joan Collins: The second volume of her autobiography was called "Second Act" and was released in 1996, following her successful court battle against her publisher, Random House. The company had demanded that Joan return the $2-million advance it had given her for two novels, as it claimed her submissions were "substandard". The New York judge ruled in her favor.

Bennett Cerf was also the mastermind behind the long-standing scam of the "Writing School", which, like the "Famous Art School", encouraged people to send samples of their work, told them they had talent, and scanned them for tuition fees. This was all exposed in a feature by famed muckraker Jessica Mitford.

Interesting. I'm just the opposite. In this episode in particular, Dorothy annoys me. For example, getting hung up on the 'display' aspect of the trampoline. Or suggesting the gal dances with snakes. This episode isn't Arlene's greatest, either. But across the series, she seems incredibly sharp-thinking and quick-witted. I like that!

I am fairly sure I would not have known who Joan Collins was in May 1965. (I would have heard of Anthony Newley in passing.) My first acquaintance with Miss Collins was her role as Edith Keeler in one of the very best "Star Trek" (TOS) episodes, "The City on the Edge of Forever". It is a role and episode that I think about often and use occasionally in discussions about far-ranging topics.

Around this time, many of my classmates were into watching Soupy Sales in a big way. In contrast, I was never much of a fan of his. Even so, I have been impressed by his two appearances on WML so far. He doesn't abandon his shtick, but he dials it back a couple of notches so it enlivens the game play without interfering with it. I thought that his question of one of the challengers about wearing gloves was a good one. I don't recall the question having been asked before,

Random selection by Daly!! But if there is a contestant with a funny "line," and if there are any comedians present as panelists like Steve Allen or Fred Allen or Hall Brooke, Daly would ask them to start and they will have some funny line of questions which will have audience in stitches!!

Okay, now I have an answer for where I would go if I could time travel. I would go to New York City 1965 to watch Dorothy Kilgallen and friends dancing "the Watusi", and maybe join in.

John was really long tonight. I wonder if the network cut the show off before all of the credits (or any of them) rolled?

Bennett asks if it's in the alligator family. Alligators have four legs, and that had already been asked at least twice and his being mocked when he suggested a tiger after the first "no" to being four-legged.

Bennett obviously isn't paying very close attention when the first contestant was on. It was determined that it wasn't a 4 legged animal yet he went on to guess "Tiger" and then guessed "Alligator" after he'd already been chided for guessing "Tiger".
