The 1961 Gibson had a special case . Our host was out of his league on that appraisal. Guitar's are tricky. Very good on history of artists and that takes years to learn plus his personality is pleasing and fun . But it's important to do your own research and get other professional opinions. I have enjoyed local appraisal shows that are a fun night out where attendees bring 3 items and have them appraised . This show reminds me of that .

Phillip Melancton was a contemporary of Martin Luther and in fact was his understudy and both were involved in the Reformation so the books presented might be worth another assessment as the reformation changed the face of the professing church and introduced Protestantism into the world.

Silver overlay prolly 1200-1750 at the right time and place. The tusk would sell for about $120.=150/oz at that size being a legal piece to use for carving up in china, french bronze was nice.

The bronze statue is Dutch. The woman is holding a long "hay fork" actually used to stick clay cooking pots in wood oven. The vase from Odessa is not German but Soviet made to imitate western style. The Soviets promoted collective work instead of individual talents. That's why things like that numbered and not signed. Germans would sign it. Cheers!

he (appraiser) does everything wrong. He puts the cup on saucer she takes it off like i would. He puts the plate at edge of table. A quick arm gesture upward and that thing would flip like a pancake. When he grabs dish #2 and brings it over the other plate thats a wrong move. Bc if it slips it will fall on the other and break both. Im sure he has broke someones item in the past just by the way he handles things. Also a different table is needed, That one almost broke that older ladies china. The one with the Nippon gravy boats.

Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge with us. I think you are funny when you say to the visitor, 'take it out of the closet enjoy it. It is worth about $30-$50.' I think you try to hide the way you just took away someone's fortune and now they are paupers.

Can't tell bronze from spelter. Really! I hope you don't charge for these appraisals. It's spelter. The small ivory pieces are easily $2-300 and that tusk would be well over $1000. Way off on the huge piece of silver decorated glass also.

Mark Moran came to our American Legion club to do one of his events, about a year ago. He charges $15.00/item evaluated. He was rude to people, he barely spent 5 minutes per item, and a good part of that time was spent looking the item up on his computer. He also hadn't shaved, or bothered with his appearance. People were very upset.

SUCH A JOKE. Problem is, in a town of 3,500, your local 'antique expert' does not know real market values. I have actually been to Cannon Falls, what is it two streets long? Cute that you guys had your little event and shared it, but your pricing and so called expertise is so far off it hurts my brain to watch.
