@@dannehsg978 I was a year-round club swimmer for 8 years but also took 11 AP's and was the president of a few clubs like NHS and CSF (California Scholarhsip Foundation). I think for UC's having a high GPA is really important but for UCLA, especially, admissions really wants to see a well-rounded student. I definitely think having good essays is important because it can make up for anything that might be "missing" in the rest of your application like extracurriculars or high test scores. As for essays its really important to focus on any passions you have because just being smart or saying you volunteered a ton isn't enough. What your essays should really convey is who you are as a person not what you've done as a person. If you want to know my stats and stuff feel free to ask. But I think the main takeaway is showing that you have a balance of schools work and extracurriculars (espcially ones that aren't just resume boosters).

You truly don’t know what you have until it’s gone. I’m a 4th year student here and I’m really reminiscing this. Once you go here, you get used to how good everything is, and you take it for granted. Now I know I’m probably never gonna go back as a student. For future students here, make sure you don’t take anything for granted, you never know when you’re time here will be cut short (I’m talking about the coronavirus situation)

@@DZ-bj3yx while I second joining clubs and extra stuff, only join a club you’re ACTUALLY interested in. Don’t waste time in something you don’t actually care about, writing or being interviewed for something you care about speaks so much more about you to them than having a lot of stuff. (This can vary cuz some schools only care what’s on the paper but some will ask more about it in detail but also just don’t over work yourself.

This is a godsend. I just got into UCLA and couldnt do the campus tour because of the corona virus so thank you for making this!

This is my dream University. I am from India.. I will try for my masters here. It's very challenging to get in UCLA because acceptance rate is only 14%. Currently I am an student here in rajasthan in 10th standard. I will try my best to get in UCLA otherwise let's see. Wish me luck 🤞😊...

I am from Toronto and visited UCLA this week. I was amazed! Most beautiful uni i have seen in my life. The fact it's sunny all year round is great to make your mood better but i assume it's hard to focus as well. If i could turn back time i would definitely consider moving to Cali just to attend UCLA.

There are summer sessions and evening classes that allows you to obtain credit classes towards an occupational qualification. Even a few classes at Anderson school is available. Just do it !

So this is why American colleges are so expensive

UCLA is California state funded meaning It’s more affordable For California residents than out of state residents. I didn’t have to pay anything to get my Master’s Degree from UCLA, the company that I worked for paid 100% through their extended education program!!

I'm one of those nerdy kids who LOVE books and textbooks And the momment I saw that library made me squeal

I’m predicting it now, I will be at this university when I leave high school

I was here for a MUN conference a couple weeks ago... those steps before Royce hall sucked but I loved everything else, especially Powell library...

I thought this school was pretty darn tough, particularly the engineering courses. Pretty campus, but you really need two heads to excel in the more difficult subjects (ie, engineering, pre-med, physics, etc.)

the first field is for track, the second is called the IM field which most students, clubs and the band often use, etc, not the soccer team... and the last field is not for football, it is the soccer stadium

This is a really good video -- Random nitpick: It's actually called "Ackerman Student Union," not the "SAC." Also, the SAC doesn't have a swimming pool. Kaufman hall does (the one across from SAC)

Harman Jeet Kaur I missed UCLA when I graduated. I went back and took some evening Spanish classes. I could have gone to the local Jr. College but I had to go to UCLA. It was expensive but worth it.

At at the all girls floor. They have a fill kitchen facility and if you want to cook, you can. The food is great. Single shower stalls are nice and it comes with a bench so you can put on your clothes before leaving the bathroom.
