Pretty girls. You need to acquire Philippine passports so that you can be called Filipina regardless of color. I am following a Filipino vlogger in Equitorial Guinnea, (Africa) who helps poor families there. And by next month he will be going home for good bringing home with him, One black family to migrate and study in the Philippines. I hope the 5 children will not be discriminated by the community. The channel is PINOY IN EQUATORIAL GUINNEA.

Filipinos getting surprised at foreigners speaking Tagalog means pride. We're very proud that other people love Tagalog otherwise they wouldn't have had the interest to learn it. Spanish or French people not getting surprised why people speak their language, the twins said the reason why--they are universal languages and it's normal if people speak them. Like them, we could be annoyed too if we constantly get same reactions from Filipinos over and over again but it can't be helped, unless every single Filipino they meet knows them already before, and it wouldn't be the case. It's fine to get used to it since all nationalities have distinctive characteristics and it won't adapt to foreigners or anyone. It should be the other way around if you live in one nationality's country. Also, before they start speaking Tagalog and say that they're Filipinos, people that don't personally know the beautiful twins wouldn't think they are Filipinos because they obviously don't look Filipinos. This also can't be helped and it's absolutely alright, nothing bad about it. But the Filipinos who told them to try using whitening soap, that is absolutely foul and abhorrent. That or those Filipinos deserve disciplining. But I think the most they have experienced it is 3x. Maybe. And 3x is too many to take though only superbad or mentally-ill Filipino would say that. You also can't help thinking why they're elusive to identifying themselves as neither Filipinos nor Nigerians. ??

Many of the Filipino tribes like the Sambals, Tagalog, and Visaya, etc, were slave hunters. And among those slaves, only one group of people were considered "slaves that could not buy their freedom/forever slaves" and those were the Aeta/Negrito. Caucasian colonialism didn't start "colorism" in the Philippines, our ancestors did. And before you go tell me it wasn't about their color, it very much was about them being "different". A Tagalog that looked like a Visayan could buy/earn their freedom, but an Aeta never could. "[Dark] complexion means you are a lower class", is basically what you were saying. Again, that's because Filipino slaves, the lowest class, were of dark complexion. Yes, colonialism from the Spanish and Muslims (Arabs, Southeast Asians, and even Chinese-Muslims) did add to the fire, but let's not pretend that our ancestors were holier than them.

@@user-sg6ii3eo9i I believe we can't compare other peoples experience to colonialism and the result of which to be the same in all cases, nor can anyone say that the result would be untrue.. until now in the Philippine media and beauty products for women, we are heavily bombarded with products that implies having a fairer skin or light colored skin is something to be preferred. Our identities as natives of the country have also been meticulously destroyed during the 400 years of colonialism.

Thats why people in the higher ups can still look lighter compared to outside workers. While nigerians have almost the same pigment even if they stay indoors. For example, visayans have this practice called binukot. Which secludes a lady to make their skin fairer and make them ready for marriage.
