Love how Matt never curbs his enthusiasm. Great find here. Thanks for sharing 👍
I love that old racing stuff. It just doesn't get any better than that. I bet that thing was a beast back in the day. A money maker for sure.
Love watching Matt just dig into engines. It is so awesome to hear his knowledge and love for it just come POURING through the screen.

Neat gay pride mask
When you pulled that cover off it was like the Gears Through Time! Loved it!
History and heritage. Thanks Matt
Absolutely love what your father started and what you continue to do. I'm definitely coming down there this summer and checking this place out because I am a Harley nut. When my grandpa's came home from the war they bought knuckleheads... After they had kids they had panheads.. And when those kids grew up they bought shovel heads and well both of em rode those to
Great video Matt. It's awesome to watch something like this with somebody with so much knowledge.

And PASSION!! 🥰👍👍🇦🇺
Matt's passion for these motorcycles is truly amazing. I was fortunate enough to meet him Thursday at the museum and got to see some of the amazing motorcycles fire up. Wheels through time is an awesome place. Thanks Matt.
High performance stuff from back in the day that looks like it is ready to run is way cool. Thank you for sharing this.
I am always amazed with the quality of your work and the collection of bikes at Wheels Through Time , thank you for all the hard work that both you and your father have done thru the years
Fun to watch you geek out, Matt! Nowhere near as much knowledge, but I can enjoy your enthusiasm!
It amazes me the knowledge that Matt has and shares with his partners and us. I’m astounded how you can put all these parts back together to make these beauties. I also like how he gives praise when he’s disassembling and assembling these bikes to those that had them previously. Keep up the great work!
Matt your knowledge and enthusiasm is second to none.WE ARE VERY LUCKY.
Always enjoy each video but I really enjoy it when Matt is in the shop😊
I can literally watch you build bike 24/7 I would work for free in the shop . Love y’all
Not sure who was more excited to see the tear down, me or Matt!
matt - you're carrying on the extreme high level of passion and emotion , that your father had .... that's what drew me into watching his shows "what's in the barn" still one of my favorites , don't ever stop - the technical info that flows out while your exploring is amazing - your paying homage to those pioneers of speed . . . . . .thank you
This is one of my favourite KZread videos of all time - as Matt says - what a win!
It's so much fun, and always a learning experience, watching Matt tear into something special. Abilities and knowledge beyond that of mere mortals... Can't wait to see more of this incredible machine... As always, thank you for sharing this piece of motorcycle history...
Good stuff! I'm an old guy, but back in my dad's day, he and his buddies were taking 80" flathead flywheels and building stroker Panheads. Way before you could buy anything you wanted from S & S, they made it.
Sooo dang cool to find such a rare setup! Niiice work WTT!!!
It would be very interesting to see these racing machines tested on a dyno. As built back in the day. Maybe run a WTT HP competition and compare some stock builds side by side. I'm sure the builders and racers knew what they were doing. I would love to see WTT validate their efforts in a video someday...Keep up the great work!
I could actually feel your excitement cracking that puppy open. Oh what a feelin!
If you want to support the Wheels Through Time Museum in our effort to preserve this history, head over to wheelsthroughtime.com/win-this-bike and get a chance at winning a genuine '37 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead!
Great stuff. Just in case, no oun intended....I've some pre war british stuff. The mag chains can look loose cold, but at running temp the case expansion takes up quite a lot of slack. Dont set it too tight cold.
We were just at your museum I got to say it was awesome we will be back , Matt you are very nice to everyone. Much respect.
Not a bike guy at all, but damn this is the best thing on KZread, no question. Love every episode. Need to get to the museum some day!
Great find ! Thank you for saving all that old treasure . Your videos are always so interesting to watch .
I just love your enthusiasm. You really love these bikes.
After I crappy day I needed this! Thanks for showing us, great passion!
Great video, one of the few channels you learn and from a master👌👌👌❤️🏴
My nephew and I had the opportunity to come out and and tour the museum last week and it was amazing!
Matt your Dad would be soo proud of what you are doing. Happy New Year to you and your Family
My wife and I are planning a trip to Wheels Through Time for next Summer. We want to check out all of the great bikes and awesome displays that we see in your videos. We’re hoping to get a chance to meet you as we really admire your vast knowledge of and love for Classic and Vintage American motorcycles and their history. I also need to enter to win that gorgeous raffle bike. It would make one heck of a 62nd birthday present since my birthday is November 17th. Please keep saving and passing on our motorcycling history.
What would we do without your museum love from Perth Western Australia ❤
Its fun seeing you geek out
Again thank you for sharing, motorcycle tv at it's very best
I can't get enough of these videos Matt!!! Keep 'em coming sir!!!
Love it !!! Can’t wait to hear her running!!
I live in nj but I have your museum on my bucket list
Cool, cool, cool stuff Matt. That was really trick stuff in it's day, and in a lot of ways they're still doing similar stuff today, like drilling gears and shaving crankshafts to get the rotating mass down. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.
Can't wait to hear it sing.
Outstanding Details and Knowledge! Keep it Up, can’t wait to hear it run!!
I’m so excited that I’m wearing my Wheels Through Time T-Shirt. 😎
Blown away on your knowledge Sir. Nice video
Please please share more of this bike and motor

You forgot the joy of the hunt and FIND🎉 great show thank you Sir
You are simply incredible, Matt!
Good seeing this stuff...anything after 99 is not for me... I loved talking with your Dad about this old stuff...so glad you have his love for these bikes... Would love to sit and listen to the old timers who built these motors...
Absolutely beautiful.... Matt your father would be so proud of you 🙏
Another awesome video with history lesson. Fantastic!

Wow ! What a cool find ! I’m loving it .
Great find, I love watching the Knucklehead info in particular.
You, Sir, are highly infectious! Great Show, thanks.
I'm half way around the world - so excited to see the next installment - The apple doesn't fall far from the tree! Best wishes!!!
U have the best job on earth, brother !
Another amazing upload, awesome
In a word;Amazing!
Like opening up a time capsule!!
Very Cool Stuff, Thanks For Sharing ! 🧂
Very cool. Have you ever opened one up thinking it was all there and realized all the gears, cams, pistons, etc had been pilfered by someone else years ago? That would be disappointing.

Many years ago some guys that were building custom choppers would take the internals out of the engines because all they were was trailer queens made to be pushed into the custom bike shows then pushed back into a trailer I remember reading in a old custom chopper magazine from the late 60s early 70s . I think what the deal was is that they spent so much money on chrome and custom paint jobs and customizing the whole bike they didn't have enough money to actually build a running engine for them . Myself I would never do that just because I would want to be able to drive it after it's completed and at least enjoy driving it some rather than pushing it around on the floor of a show or into a trailer lol but according to the magazine some guys were doing this .
Awesome stuff mate...
Good Day Matt. I really enjoy your videos, the enthusiasm you pour into these videos is as cool as the bikes you guys' highlight! Just a thought as I watched this particular episode, with so many projects on the go, have you ever thought of doing a monthly or every couple of month's, a bike project update? A few minutes on each bikes progress or even lack of. Maybe somethings that you get hung up on. After all, the restoration shop is where your technical knowledge and skills really do shine! It's a goal of mine to own a vintage bike, heck, I'd be happy with a new Indian if I couldn't pull of the vintage bike. Is your annual bike draw open to us Canucks? Keep up the great work!
Sweet bike and rare find! 👍👍
Amazing build...in its day!
Love cracking open an engine. Always like Christmas you never know what your getting or will find.
No Brasil não tem essas raridades muito top a restauração desta moto
We used to use 421 Pontiac Super Duty sodium cooled valves in knuckleheads. Some guys used Chrysler Hemi. A little machine work went a long way!
Great find.
I'm gonna get Dragonman (Yes, THAT machinegun central Dragonman) to build my Evo engine, and everyone even the biggest oldskool prewar, knuck or panhead freak will tell you that the EVO was the BEST engine HD ever built!. And use all the tricks like cutting the flywheel right down, lightening everything and all the porting tricks. That guys rates on machine work are so affordable, it's like he's doing it for a public service!
If it was important enough to you maybe you could try one or more of these in the shop, "Serial numbers were removed by grinding to a point just beyond obliteration. The handbook reports on the results of optimizing several restoration methods: chemical and electrolytic, ultrasonic cavitation etching, magnetic particle, and heat treatment." From Google results.
Thanks Matt
What did the compression ratio end up being from pull down? Inlet valve size? Cam lift ? .600?
That’s awesome!!
Love your channel
Our Abate district 2 is coming up there at the end of June 2024, I caint wait to see these bikes your putting in these videos.
new subscriber I'm glad I found your channel thanks 👍

Thanks!
You have the coolest job on the planet!!!!!!!!! ❤ I want to ride it!
Very Cool Bike!!!!!!!
Racer mentality: How can we make it lighter and perform better, but still have some degree of reliability? I know, lets shorten the skirts, keep the bore and lengthen the rods and increase the stroke. Strip the frame and make some stability improvements to the front end. Hey what about polishing the ports? machine some huge intake valves to boost fuel volume. I got an idea let's drill out the gears and reduce the rotational mass, it should spin up faster. HD sees the potential in raising the final drive by reducing the oil reservoir to get this monster to lay down on turns at speed. Brilliant. You think that we are all that today? A doctor I work with told me we are standing on the shoulders of giants. Max Verstappen complained about being held up, that it cost him 3 TENTHS! That is what separates the winners from the mid pack. Peace from West Texas. Love the passion for the craft.
VERY COOL
Tats a lot of info on the key parts. Thank you…:)
First comment! Love your work.

Awesome!
Hello, Matt. What happened with the red 1948 panhead you got at the swap meet 10 or so months ago? I don't think I saw a video about that one again. Love all your videos by the way!
That’s an exciting motor to crack into!
So cool.
That bike is sick
