What's in the box!?!?!?! - Klipsch Cornwall IV Disassembly

Buy the Cornwall here: paducahhometheater.com/products/klipsch-cornwall-4?_pos=1&_sid=5280cd235&_ss=r
When you guys talk, we listen! We had a ton of positive feedback from adding in the disassembly component to all of the Reference Premiere line gear so....we thought we would bring back some old favorites and take those apart as well!! With the "What's in the box" short series, we are going to bring back the heritage line, pull out the drivers, and show you what each of these looks like inside. We are going to take a look at how they are put together and constructed as well as compare the components of the models side by side.
Last week we took apart the Forte IV and compared it to the Heresy. Before that, we kicked off the what's in the box series by showing the guts of the Heresy IV. Today we are going bigger. We are taking it to the next level. Today we want to show the Cornwall IV.
Thanks for watching and, Enjoy!!

I like seeing the parts that carry over. It's interesting to see what changes and what stays the same as you move up in the product lines.

One would think that for the cost of the Cornwall they'd use a cast frame driver with a large voice coil. I saw PWK give a talk about 50 years ago at the Hi-Fi Hutch and he explained his use of cheap drivers but he did admit to admiring drivers and systems from Altec and Western Electric. Years ago he kept several Lowther and RCA systems in his museum: I think he admired Voight and Olson.

Honeslty cant speak to why they made what decision. The engineers down there in Hope have 1000x more knowledge on the topic than i ever will. What i can speak to though is the sound that results and...whatever reason they had for choosing the specific components they did, it shines through in the listening experience and still blows me away every time. I unfortunately never had the opportunity to speak with Paul directly but know many that have. Ive met with and interviewed Roy several times and his number one goal is always to stay true to what Paul would have wanted and he never strays from this in these designs. -Jason

Thanks for watching! We had planned on doing these sooner but Trey and I have had some scheduling conflicts. As such, I've been knocking out the ones I cover solo in the mean time. We should be getting to the RF7 Vs Heritage, the center channels, and the RF7 Vs RF7 compares here shortly! Stay tuned. :) -Jason

Hi Jason, If you can indulge me one more time! Are you able to measure the width of Cornwall IVs black base? Is it 24 inches? Thanks!☺️

Thanks for watching! They do. There is foam that wraps the sides. I didn't pull it out because its tacked in there but you can see it when I show the insides through the LF hole. -Jason

Bass reflex speakers don't need stuffing but only some sidewall insulation to absorb the higher frequencies from the woofer. You need only put insulation on 3 sides, just so one side of two opposite sides has insulation.

I have listened extensively to Cornwall yes my friend owns a pair. They sound OK but not at the price point. My friend loves them so. As for the looks they look cheap PA drivers they aren't even cast baskets Crossover looks like its from amazon for £20 Enclosure is built to the lowest high standard they can get away with. Sorry for my opinion but it's valid. Overpriced by 50%
