I visited Italy from the UK a good few times in 85/86 - at the height of Paninaro (Veneto region). The brands I remember are as follows - timberland, burlington socks, Diesel, mandarin duck bags, stone island, CP company, Best co. sisley & gilets and puffers (forgot brand) I visited the Diesel factory shop and still have a diesel patch from the mid 80's. I've been trying to get my son into panainaro fashion and italo disco... it's got to be due a revival... I tried tocarry off th style back in the UK but noone knew what I was doing... I had the shoes which look a bit like pasties (UK thing)

Hi! thanks for stopping by. There is a big misconception about "casuals" and "paninaro" fashion, they are worlds apart but unfortunately (especially) in the UK are sometimes mixed up. Paninaro would never wear Adidas to start with, Vans and/or Converse All Stars where the only brands for summer trainers. New Balance (mostly made in USA models but also sometimes the made in UK models too) were also used. A good starting point is that if a brand wasn't American (only a few exceptions like Moncler) it wouldn't be in the paninaro outfit. Some Italian brands like el charro, stone island, enrico coveri, best company, valentino etc. were also in the outfit. Definitely no UK (fred perry, etc) or German (adidas, etc) brands .

@@edypiro personally I wasn't into adidas as a kid.. only wore adidas gazelle.. nike new balance were my choice of trainers. Kicker hi tops I wore aged 11 till around 87 at school.. lacoste, burberry, paisley pattern shirts levi 501s and the odd pilot jacket.. never got into the stone island stuff.. only had a few bits stone island marina tshirt n jeans n 1 sweater around 91-92.. Loved my Amanda basi and chipie stuff..

Hi! yes pretty much the only sunglasses were the Made in USA RayBans (Bausch & Lomb manufactured) wayfarers, Olympian 1 and 2, Balorama etc. but I do love Persols and I owned a few pairs ( I still do! ) like the 714.
