What's growing at our Spanish cottage house in January?

I'll give you a tour of my garden and lot in Peñiscola, Spain, USDA zone 9b, going on 10. While I haven't progressed as much as I wanted in this time, I have spent my time well observing the land and learning what plants thrive here. This has allowed me to take on a more naturalistic approach, with results that are satisfying but still on the young side. The summers are brutal and most years turn this green pasture that you see now into a dry and brittle landscape. It's been one year now that I have had the chickens on a rotational paddock system using the chickshaw, and there is a notable difference in the quality of the pasture. Throughout my four-year journey, I have always struggled with water. Soon I will be tackling this problem and building more resilience by building the soil and providing several water sources. I aspire to start a market garden and provide vegetables to locals and perhaps establish a relationship with a local restaurant. Come along with me on my journey as I overcome these hurdles and share my learning experience with you.

I love your projects and I hope to start a similar project one day! I wonder if a fog collector net would be worth trying in this area, since there is so much moisture in the air?

That's great idea. I hadn't considered it at all. I'll will look into developing one and if it is viable for our area. Your comments are so helpful and I've already started filming a long term project on olive trees inspired from your previous comment.
