you are a smart guy who tries to understand the country , but just few corrections , please the kingdom of Morocco wasn't officially established in 1956 (as some Spanish colonials claim) , you yourself said the king was called Mohammed the 5th , that means there were already 4 kings before him called Mohammed , so how can this kingdom be established in 1956 when this monarchy dates back to 1666 and there were several other monarchies before it ....the empire of Morocco did not stretch east to Algiers only but as far east as Egypt ....the majority of Moroccans are Amazigh , but some lost the language and they might think of themselves are being Arabs when in reality they are Arabized Amazigh ....there are few to no true Arabs in Morocco....and finally there is a lot more to see in Morocco , especially you are missing the whole rural Morocco .....thank you and be very welcome....

He’s a vlogger, not a historian. But to correct you too: Morocco in history has had many rulers, kingdoms, dynasties or whatever you want to name it, even before the Alawites came to power. But the state/country as we know it today is called “The Kingdom of Morocco”. That was established in 1956, when the country gained independence. That’s a fact. Even Mohammed V wasn’t a King before independence. Because before that he had the title ‘Sultan’.

Morocco and Algeria are not similar! Algeria has been under Moroccan flag for decades, later under Turkish domination, then frensh domination. France created Algeria in gave it its name flag and borders in1962.

Thank you for visiting our Morocco .. and thank you for your positive and negative temoingage too .. Marrakech is a city of tourism and the peoples overthere make them lives from tourism. . We do a lot to keep our tourists in safe overdrive. . Sometimes a tourist who does journalism finds himself in places that are not highly recommended .. people visit New York but very few venture into the harlem or bronx neighborhoods .. that does not make New York a risky city .. One last thing Morocco is millinaire it is the second oldest kingdom in the world .. our kings change and nothing happens. And life goes on .. it's not like the disappearance of Marshal Tito. Our real borders is the Senegal river in the south .. the separation of Mauritania from Morocco is Bolshevik. . Our problèmes with Algérie are bolcheviks as well ..algériens fight to séparate à pièce of Land from our South to prévent That morocco reach africa Beleive me That Will Nevers happen

Great tour. That lunch looked really good. Just a little note, it's a little a historic to talk about northern, central, and southern berbers in ancient times, everyone spoke Berber back then and the dialect spoectrum was probably different. Arabic speakers in Morocco are in the vast majority descendents of people who switched from Arabic to Berber at some point. It's sounds a little strange to our ears as Morocco to hear modern Berber speakers as the original inhabitants of Morocco because we all consider ourselves original inhabitants of Morocco, and at least the younger people, Berber and Arabic speakers alike, identifies with pre-islamic Morocco as their own history.

Thanks for visiting Morocco. The main issue between Morocco and (Algeria & friends) is the monarchy. In the 50-70's there was this fashion of replacing kingdoms with Republics in Arab countries. Morocco underwent two coups d'etat attempts (71 & 72) by the army but thanks god both of them failed. The polarisio milicia (actually living in Algeria not in Morocco) was used as a pressure by some of the communist countries who believe that kingdoms are a threat. The polisario received help (essentially weapons and war tactics) not only from Algeria but also from Libya, Iran, Syria, Cuba, Venezuela to fight Morocco. The war lasted 16 years (75-91) and had a huge impact on the Moroccan economy. However now the situation is much better compared to what it was 30 years ago but some poverty still existing and Morocco has to work hard to finish with it.

the moroccan monarchy is one of the oldest in the world, the alawite dynasty came to power in 1600, and since then 26 monarchs have been in power, the most notable one of them is moulay Ismail of meknas, olso the palaces of the king are not actually owned by the king they're state owned and 80 percent of them are historical palaces from old dynasties and also UNESCO world heritage, you can't compare them to the palaces of the monarchies of the gulf states, those monarchies are an invention of Britain and france, other than that Morocco political and economic systems are corrupt failing as in all MENA region and subsaharan Africa and third world countries, in Morocco the royal conglomerate ALMADA HOLDING control the biggest bank in Morocco-the biggest insurance company-the biggest energy company, basically it controls a huge chunk of the moroccan economy, Morocco doesn't have natural resources like a lot of the mena countries, so its really struggling, democracies and the rule of law is an exception in the world so be grateful that your born in one.

I have any sensitivity from your question my dear bro. My point of view for thinking of others people to us. In the Western media, we find them classify the safe countries for travel in the continents of Africa and Asia. Why because there are Arab countries in it?Peace runs in our veins. And we have a brotherly relationship with the countries of the West. We are also the first country who recognize America's independence. You should to know that we saw your visit to us very honorable. And we have a Moroccan proverb that says that only those who love you will visit you. In Morocco, you do not need to book a hotel. All Moroccan's homes welcome foreign visitors. We can drink coffee together in Casablanca.

I feel like your understanding of Moroccan ethnic differences is way more severe and similar to sub-Saharan countries which is not true. Tribal affiliation is really something from the past in Morocco it’s almost non-existent except from some really rural areas and also these ppl are becoming more rare by the day. Their is also no real conflict between Arabs&berbers bcs everybody is mixed and has the same culture you cannot tell if somebody is an Arab or a Berber Moroccan, it’s more about what city or region you come from but most Moroccans do not go by these stupid ideas. Ppl that stir talks about ethnic conflicts in Morocco are most of the time always trolls that want conflict to happen and want to divide ppl for internet attention

This isn’t entirely accurate, a Western view I feel. Berber is derogatory, it’s Amazigh. The best food isn’t in restaurants either. Can’t beat Moroccan home food, it’s cooked with love instead of the interests of the tourist dollar. Morocco is not aggressive, but the tourist spots are, like any other heavily reliant tourist destination. “Berbers” didn’t occupy, we are the native inhabitants. I also agree with the other commenter, there isn’t any ethnic conflict, most of us aren’t “pure” anything, we are generally North African. The general cautionary awareness could be applicable for any spot on any continent who’s sole sector is tourism, well travelled people know this. I liked it nevertheless :)

I came across your video and thought it was going to be a typical tourist vlog but was surprised by how knowledgeable you are . You mentioned that you felt surprised that even though Morocco didnt have the french stay for too long but you still can feel the presence , well that is because Morocco has never gained independence from france on all aspects .Contrary to Algeria , the french departure from Morocco was different and sort of planned because they had signed agreements ( Aix-Les-bain ) with the monarchy that they will still be the main beneficiary of Morocco's main resources and economy in exchange of providing the royal family with political support and sharing part of the countries resources . Therefore you can say that the french are still in control of Morocco as long as the royal family is still ruling .The Moroccan king spends great amount of time in his palaces in france , and just to put you in perspective with a small recent example of many , The Moroccan King was the largest Contributor to the Notre dame remodeling after the fire .(FYI Moroccans are so brainwashed and under humongous systematic oppression by the ruling system called the" Makhzen" (which consists of the royal family plus other wealthy families ) that they cant talk about anything that has to do with the monarchy and if they its only about how great the supreme leader is.

Whoever asks us this question, we answer him by not visiting us and not wasting his money. Indeed, you will return to the land of God, Morocco. But your question makes you invisible among us and we do not feel your presence

That’s a very weird opinion. It’s just a general question many foreigners have about all countries in the world. Not sure why you’re so sensitive about it. The US is very dangerous, I’m not offended if people are curious how dangerous it is.

Ohh my god, you totally butchered the history of that country. I know it is a very complicated history to be covered in one casual video but Moroccans won't appreciate a lot of wrong information on this video. Good concept though, but it needs more homework from you
