What Riding a Private Room Luxury Train in Japan is Like
Japanese First Class Train Tour and Experience. Today, I'm riding the Saphir Odoriko Japanese Luxury Train inside of their 6 seater private room from Tokyo to Izukyu-Shimoda, a go-to vacation destination for many Tokyo residents. It's a unique train which offers premium seats with a view, in-train restaurant, and a whole lot more, which I’m going breakdown for you in this video. Saphir Odoriko is a limited express train service in Japan operated by the East Japan Railway Company, Central Japan Railway Company, Izukyu Corporation, and Izuhakone Railway. Saphir is currently quite popular, so I recommend booking the tickets in advance, especially for the private room or premium seats. For the 6 seater private room, I had to book 3 weeks in advance. This train has 2x 6-seater private rooms and 2x 4-seater private rooms and one car that is all premium green seats. This Japanese first-class train has its own restaurant, with its own menu of the perfect blend of delicate Japanese sensibilities and Italian gastronomical skill with local seasonal ingredients.

😲..!By seeing your video,i can only say that i rarely seen such prestigious and brilliant luxury concepted in trains, even inside the fastest and most efficient ones, toward Europe, unless i miss something. The most famous and recknown i've knew this far is the french TGV,wich exists since decades, and apparently redundant, compared to the quality, designs and performances of the railed transport services this government puts at disposal. If i can be sure about apoint,it's that the fundamental policies ruling Japanese functionning system, are all clockwise tied to ally and optimize sanity, gain of time and efficiency.Wich only makes more sense, for such toroughly active society.Respect again, under one another angle.Japan is undeniably accounted as worldwide values model under many aspects.👍🏾

Public transportation is on a completely different level in Japan! I'm planning my trip for next year aaaaand definitely taking notes
I can almost feel the place that you're traveling in and this is an amazing way to travel! ❤
when I lived in Japan, the trains had a level of service and quality that regardless of class to be enjoyed. I lived in Kagoshima, so when you’d take a train to say to Fukuoka, you’d have a person come around with bentos and snacks on a trolley. Great way to practice my Japanese language (they were very patient) Such a treat - whereas if you flew, there was not even water - the reverse of Australia at the time 😂. I remember on a local journey, I sat next to an older woman who insisted on sharing her mikan fruit with me and making sure I was comfortable. Such a lovely kindness to a stranger, but something I experienced quite a lot when I lived there.
What I love about your videos are how your excitement and just zest for life is felt throughout your video and makes your viewers feel like they are part of an incredible journey with you! Thanks Paolo!
Paolo is weirdly obsessed with bathrooms in the places he visits in Japan, and I'm here for it.
Thanks to you and similar KZreadrs in Japan, I just completed my second trip to Japan in May 2023 and this is such a beautiful country and so many things to see, that I have to go back at least 2 more times to just check off the items of things I want to see.

I really need to save up for a trip to Japan. The past few day in the life videos with the local shops really sold me on some places
little man so adorable showing off dance moves 2:10
I love to go on a train to explore the Japanese scenery. And this train is probably the best way to do that.😊
"And my go-to favorite in a pinch... the toilet!" 🤣😂 Paolo's humor never ceases to amuse me!!
The transportation was my one of the best experience in Japan. Very neat, comfortable, accurate and fast. Japanese think about every little detail for customers comfort.
I love travelling by train, perfect stress-free luxury.
Paolo… Please stop making us jealous! All of this content is just… unspeakable!! Keep it up!
The most Wholesome JP EN channel ever. You are still so enthusiastic about discovering Japan despite living their so long. Friendly presentation. Win Informative. Win Genuine interest in the topic. Win All wins my dude. Best wish's to you and your family.
I like the idea of maiko watching this and Paolo trying to explain how he had no choice but to order all this food to show us it all :)
Sneaker of the year, 3 way tie All New Balance (switched for my old man knees) Salehe 990s, Bodega 9060s, and JFG pink 9060s. Unreal on foot fit, unreal materials and constantly breaking necks when I step out in em
The Saphir Odoriko is officially on my bucket-list. 🔥🔥🔥
0:44 I like how you could tell Paolo is still smiling
This is a great video. Really showcases how amazing, affordable, and accessible trains can be. We don't have anything remotely close to this here in the United States and I'm envious.

I wondered if the US didn’t dropped the nuclear bomb during WW2, Japan would’ve been this advanced today?
It would be cool if you could do more non-luxury, village-mountain style hotel or "restaurant" reviews. So that we can see the more simple and less expensive side of Japan as well. Thanks!

I love the trains in Japan. The Ferries are also fun to ride between islands too.
ive been a fan for a long time but i just realized how good the intro is 100/10. such a small thing but it improves the experience overall
Amazing. Thank you for the train ride.
Love it! What a beautiful experience! The scenery the ocean view amazing. Forking out more dough for the special cabins is worth it!
I can’t believe how amazing and well priced this train is. Amazing 😊
My wife loved the train in the video even more than I did. Guess what? Yes, she wants our travel budget increased a little bit so we can ride this train, and hopefully get the private room.

Looks amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Just came back from Japan - my third time visiting. As usual, I’m amazed by Japan’s customer service culture. It’s the best in the world. I guess I am spoilt when I’m back in my homeland - expecting the same great service! Haha
Amazing post from the best youtuber!

Suggestion: Day in the life of a Japanese Ferry Captain. Ferries are crucial for Japan's economy. Supply chain.
Thank you for a pleasant video

What a nice train! Thanks for the tour
Paolo would you ever consider making a video about a day in the life of a Zen Master. I have always been fascinated by them and am sure that there are more people who would love it. There is not one video about monks, it would be cool to see this side of Japan.
Looks so fun!!!!

🤩 This is so cool.
Very interesting experience to travel on a Japanese train, I haven't been to Japan since 2002 and I can see Japanese trains have got really sophisticated these days. Ticket prices are reasonable if compared to those in France and Spain and even cheap if compared to those in Switzerland and United Kingdom. My favourite part is obviously the food and beer. Well done!
