How my Japanese Wife Eats Cheap in a Day Under $2 Meals

Use my code PAOLO to get $15 off your first Bokksu Japanese snack box! partner.bokksu.com/paolo
This is how my Japanese wife eats super cheap in a day, less $2 per meal, breakfast, lunch and dinner. Before I showed what My Japanese wife eats typically eats in a day, but this time I wanted share how she is able to do it on a budget for an entire day. This is a day in a Japanese woman's life in Japan when eating all alone when trying to save money. As a Japanese mother it is sometimes difficult to eat these meals as she has to consider what the rest of the family wants to eat, but when she is by herself, sometimes she can in Japan inexpensively. My Japanese wife, Maiko, born and raised in Japan, and the mother of our 2 and half year old son. First she cooks rice, as it’s one of the best ways in Japan to save, while also satisfying her stomach, as one bowl costs only about 20-30 cents. Luckily, Japanese are so passionate about their rice, including my wife, that many rice cookers can uniquely adapt to 40 different rice brands and can also be programmed for the desired result such as moistness and firmness, which allow her to eat a satisfying dish at a great price.

It’s so different to the way I cook as a westerner. I can not imagine cooking such tiny and delicate dishes. Even for my family of 5, I usually cook way too much. I’ve always unintentionally been a bulk cooker, but our freezer is so tiny I’m trying to change and cook more reasonable portions that people will actually eat. But I like the idea of bulk cooking and not having to cook every single individual meal! Especially when you’re busy and have a family.

Paolo you are a lucky man to have a such smart and ingenious wife. It is not easy making a tasty meal at such an inexpensive price. I remember my own mother (she is in heaven now) who used to cook white rice and eat it with sardines and kimchi*. I myself will make 7 or 8 soy sauce eggs (like the ones used in ramen) and my wife will eat one of those with her breakfast. This was a great episode Paolo!

Are you sure your wife isn't being held hostage? Throughout the video, she didn't say a single word, although she worked like hell while you were having fun with the camera. ;)

I may get hate for my comment, but is it really necessary for you to be quoting “My Japanese Wife This” “My Japanese Wife That”???? Like we get it, your wife is Japanese… why do you have to mention it all the time? Why not say “My Wife”? Plain and simple

Why are you whispering the way you are in this video? And why would you make such a video? Not letting your wife eat so you can enjoy your beer's while you are out? Really really not cool man.

It's funny how you think it's your right to judge how other's family should function. Ofcourse he doesn't call his wife Japanese wife 24/7 it's for content which is also his livelihood. You either watch it or you don't.
