    RG3, the light has come on. Most of us can’t imagine the weight that lands on a rookie who earns national attention playing lights out as QB in the NFL while becoming a millionaire at age 22. I’d be dead or in jail so glad that RG3 is in a good place. Congrats.

    I still say it's karma, Who would've benefited the most from this tampering situation? Falcons ain't dumb, cause Penix counters being held hostage for a new deal in yr 3 of his contract. Cousins is a offseason genius, but suddenly he doesn't know what he can and can't say, and do lol, ok. Just my thoughts.

  • @jasontye3307
    @jasontye33072 ай бұрын

    Thanks RG, I'm thinking it was a smart move because Kirk will be Kirk but he's too old to not insure the team with a qb they obviously really liked, especially after what we've been going through the last 5 years. If Kirk was 30, Penix wouldn't have gotten picked imo. I can't think of a better mentor in Cousins for Penix to sit and really learn this NFL offense and defensive schemes to succeed when he does get his start.

  • @HawgWyldFishing
    @HawgWyldFishing2 ай бұрын

    I think Penix gets to start some games during his year 2 season, likely after the bye week year 2, he becomes the starter. May start 1 or two games prior to then, depending on if Kirk is successful enough to lock the falcons into a playoff spot early enough to be able to let some of the starters only play minimal snaps the last week or two before the post season.

    That’s the best case scenario for Kirk WIN! But the inevitable Kirk is aging no matter if he wins, go to Pro Bowl or even Super Bowl which helps Kirk and the Falcons! Father Time is not on his side as a NFL QB. That’s why I believe Penix will win the job come year 3

    the only thing they almost have in common is melanin. because Penix has ample amounts of experience and ran a pure passing concept. Lance had a lot of short comings that would only get better with time and he was never given play time partially by good starters then also injury. so they literally cannot be any less similar.

    here's the thing RG3. And you, of all people should know this, is that the future is now. There is no such thing as 3 years down the road or 5 years down or 10 years down. Coaches and GMs get fired after a few years if they don't produce. You take an 8th pick that won't help your team for the next 2-3 years? No. You should be taking guys that can make an immediate impact TODAY. Not 3 years from now. Because if they lose and miss the playoffs two years straight after signing Cousins, they will both lose their jobs.

    I agree...it all looks rational. But only until you look at the heavy opportunity cost that came with the Penix pick. In Fontenot's own admission, the Falcons get nothing out of their first round pick for two years. They gave up getting Dallas Turner, an edge rusher who would have started day 1, and who has a huge upside, on one of the worst pass rushing teams in the NFL. In today's NFL, you know what happens if you don't pressure the opponent's QB? You lose.

    As a long time Falcons fan I am sick of LOSING...Penix does nothing to help us win now. He will be pacing the sideline with a clipboard hoping Cousins gets hurt. As for our other choices, Raheem Morris is an awful hire. A 21-38 record as a head coach. We already fired him once. It's like Marion Campbell all over again. I was there when we took Nobis in 66 and I don't have many seasons left. And to waste the next 2 or 3 on pure speculation? ARTHUR BLANK WHAT WERE YOU THINKING????
