Grew up as a young kid watching Paladin. What made the biggest impression on me was how real and convincing he was. You knew when he became resolved to do something, you knew it would happen. R.I.P. RB, you were awesome! 😊

Whether playing a good guy or a bad guy, Richard Boone always played his role with panache. We all know him in his role in "Paladin", but watch him as the leader of a pack of miscreants in the John Wayne oater "Big Jake". While those he led stood out for each one's particular grisley speciality, Boone steals the screen, especially at times from Wayne. It's a must ssee.
Paladin, what a great series..... I can still sing the theme song. Thanks!

Great coverage of a terrific actor. Paladin will live forever in the memories of so many. Thank you.
Boone's journey from a conflicted youth to a Hollywood icon is a testament to following one’s passion against all odds.
Unfortunately, Have Gun Will Travel, was never aired as a rerun where I grew up. Discovered the show, only about a decade ago, as a 30 year old, on ME TV. Became so much a favorite, that I bought the entire series on DVD. Now, I can watch Paladin at my leisure. What a superb tv show! HGWT is a masterpiece.

Paladin had CLASS. I still remember him in his fancy Victorian hotel room in San Francisco, reading the paper in his quilted silk smoking jacket, then pulling a tasseled cord. Chinese servant Hey Boy would show up. And thus began our next adventure...

Such a fantastic actor !! This man as an actor, with the characters that he portrayed, just plain scared the crap out of me !! He is certainly missed !! RIP Mr Boone !
I spent many hours watching Paladin with my grandpa when I was eight or nine years old. I think I was to young to understand a lot of it but when I found a box set of Paladin at Wal Mart I spent many hours reliving the series with my husband. rest in peace Richard, you were one of the great ones.
He also lived in St. Augustine, Florida and wrote a St. Augustine newspaper column about life there. I learned this while vacationing there and I then went on to Disney World and then on to Key West. Memories. He was a remarkable, dedicated man.

One of my favourite FL cities. A real place with a real history, not just a series of fast food outlets and cookie cutter suburbs. And a huge gator farm!

Paladin gave me hope while facing life as a young boy. I truly enjoyed his movies on TV.
I'm 67, and grew up watch Mr. Boone. It was a great time to be alive and watching examples of manhood on tv. I actually enjoyed his portrayal of the kidnapper in John Wayne's Big Jake. "Your fault, my fault, nobodies fault......." you know the rest of it. Great actor, and great film.
Thank you - I did not know what happened to him except in the last pictures I’d seen of him, he looked awful. Now I know. 🥀 I will always remember you. You are one of my childhood icons. Be happy wherever you are. 🌷🌱
This man was a great actor and a Real Man. Wish he was still here. Shame on the Hollywood industry.
Paladin had a great theme song with lyrics.
Watching Have Gun Will Travel now on Me TV.
Have Gun is on ME TV. One of my favorites when I was a kid. B&W. The closing song is in if the most memorable.
Paul Neumann's wesrtern "Hombre" near end of tale Boone steals the show, all I remember about this movie; that couple mins of his performance. No one else like him.
Watched him in paladin when a kid! Will allways remember him -- a great actor. Was a part of fond childhood memories!! They just don't make actors like him anymore!

He was great in the Shootist!
Such an underrated actor.
Thanks for letting a little boy have dreams! He was exciting then and the same now. He was a great actor!
Around 1977-78 I was delivering medical supplies to a Doctors office in L.A. I was in the waiting room with 4 other people and all of a sudden the door opened and out ran Richard "Paladin" Boone himself in his boxer shorts. He looked at all of us and said, "they are trying to kill me back there! They have a needle this big!!" , & then he turned around and ran back. We all laughed and I could see down the hall that the Doctor and Nurses were laughing too. I couldn't believe that Paladin was that funny. That was a good show!
Paladin was a bounty hunter. Like medieval knights, they were basically mercenaries, some with high ideals.
at 20 minutes you said something wrong. Flagler College is in Saint Augustine, not in Boone. It is a small private college.
Died at 63. I cannot believe he packed all that acting in a relatively short span of time. He was probably never really out of work like most actors.
Loved that show!!!❤
I haven’t thought about that program in years. Who remembers the name of his valet in his San Francisco hotel suite?

"Paladin + have gun will travel " has not long been found on one of the old school radio-tv , rebroadcastors (?), channels . I hope the rest of his work can be found , as "Paadin" , was enjoyed very much .

I managed to pick up a couple of DVD sets of Paladin some 20 years ago. Sadly, one doesn't see the series on TV repeats or streaming in this age of political correctness and moral relativism. I would be (happily) surprised to see it become popular again. What really set this show apart (and maybe Gene Rodenberry's own thought processes manifested themselves here) was its philosophical values, in particular the depiction of a heroic being. This was before the glamorizing of the anti hero and the very idea of there being a difference between right and wrong. These days, values agnosticism makes finding an uplifting movie a difficult quest. The sad part is that our culture has turned away from looking up to heroes, and instead made victimhood a claim of virtue.
How sad! One of my favorite actors! RWB ❤🎉
Always one of the best TV and movie cowboys.
Loved the short lived heck ramsay too, and jhon Wayne's last movie too !
Richard boone was a spokes person for st augustine florida.
He is a all sround actor. EXCELLENT
Different from any other western. I try not to miss it every Saturday afternoon.
❤I honestly believe Boone was tired if HG-WT, his next series was The Richard Boone Show, an anthology of great acting but lasted only one season! I watched it as a very young child (3rd grade) and was immediately bored to tears not knowing great acting! The fact that he was a hardcore smoker and drinker I'm sure ended his life much sooner! He aged very badly with his looks becoming just a ragged, old man! I think the lady who played Hey Girl is still alive but I'm not sure! She outlasted everyone associated with the show! One thing that always bothered me was his very slow draw when he was supposed to be the fastest in the West!
I wish you had mentioned his role as the villain in the movie Hombre.
That is NOT a picture of him on that park seat.
1:55, who is the older man in the center? I remember a late 60's TV show where a guy took a pill, and got special powers. I think he was in it.
Richard Boone was great in Paladin but also as Hec Ramsey .
