Chip did our son's car in 2006. on Overhaulin. It was and still is a masterpiece.! They arranged a theft of his 1969 Mustang convertible from his home with the help and knowledge of the local police department, his wife, brother mother and myself. The car design was taken from what my son had aways told me he wished he could do to his car...Chip nailed it. Our son still has the car and re-runs of the show and a Foose Special can be seen once in a while (Mustang Sting). Thanks Chip for making a dream come true. Your are a true gentleman and artist. The drama was worth it to see my son's reaction to seeing his car recovered and his dream come true. If you ever see thepisode you will know what. I mean. Many workers on Chip's team were volunteers who had the own cars on the show..

Seen Chip around Huntington Beach every once in a while. Never talked to him even though we probably have a lot in common...figured he would prefer not to be hit up by a fan boy while at DelTaco. To answer the question posed I can honestly say that I take comfort in the fact that my herd of unrestored original/ rust free/ issue free Mustangs are resting comfortably in another undisclosed state now. I could see my friends watching Overhaulin and thinking that turning to him to restomod one of them would help me out. Needless to say, as much respect as I have for Foose, if that happened I would have a total cow. Folks collect cars for different reasons...I actually enjoy the challenge of restoration and the patience it instills in me especially in this new world of instant bolt-on gratification.

I never met Chip. But I stood with my wife 25' from him for about 45 minutes while attending Corvettes at Carlisle. He came out of a tent to a podium where he met a large crowd with a warm greeting. In a 2 hour line up waiting to obtain his autograph was a boy with a homemade model of a car. He was about 10 years old. Everyone in the line got to take a photo with Chip and get his autograph. When it was the boys turn, Chip took the model into his hands and started asking the young man questions about it. The boy explained how he had made the model and why. While others got 30 seconds with Chip, the boy got 5 minutes. Chip wanted to know everything about the kid's car. He was truly engaged and encouraging to the young man and both their eye contact and expressions had us blown away. The sincerity and the time allotment he gave to this creative young and future auto designer was over the top. But was it? Of course. This is the man Chip Foose. A talent extraordinaire and a gentleman.

Met Boyd at the Louisville street rod nationals years ago. Before his show. Boyd Coddington seemed to not know the word empathy. Imo

Great designer. I like all his cars. Except for the P32. The one with that silly front end supposed to remind you of a WW II fighter plane.

I've always wanted to see a show called "Quick and Quiet." Where car is converted to electric and then goes head to head with the same ICE model .

I also met Chip at SEMA, he truly is a down to earth car guy. I had a great conversation with him. As far as having my car hijacked and overhauled...No, I would not be in favor of that, even if it was Chip to the job.

Not to speak ill of the dead, but after watching some of Boyd Coddington's show - it would appear he parted ways with a lot of his employees badly. He might have been a great car designer, but he seemed to be very angry most of the time.

It felt like one of the most toxic work places i have ever seen, barely an episode where someone did NOT get fired ! (It did not feel like added drama, if it ever was)

I think his manager out on the floor was a sneaky dirt bag treating the guys like crap and when they complained he'd run and tell Boyd " we can't work with this guy he's got a problem".

Chip was his "designer" which is why Boyd referred to him as the Devil because he started his own shop and wasn't making Boyd money anymore.

Boyd was a dick plain & simple dead or alive doesn't matter, don't want ppl to call you a dick after you're a corpse? Don't be a dick while you have a choice.

I said this from the very beginning let the owner hav some input after all its his car..beautiful designs and builds..however like u say it my not be the way the owner wanted to go..getting a bit of track but still kinda he same theme I just say a video of vice grip garage where he gets a guy's 67 gto and just leaves it as is gets it running and details it...doesn't take away from the value of the car at all...
