    Rhonda should of not taken this fight, she should of taken on a lower on contender and switched coaches and gym. She really needed to work on her stand up. But she didn’t do that so all well....wrestling WWF/WWE what ever she went she went....my friends joke she can’t really fight so she went to fake fighting she goes...

    She already reached the highest level in her sport, so really the floor is the limit. Fighting is a vicious business, at some point somebody is going to put Amanda Nunes to sleep in the ring. But yes for now she's great, and she's great to watch, and much respect to her skills.

    The problem is she cant handle losing. Fighters lose sometimes, but she lacks resilience and seems to crawl into a shell and hide. It doesnt help she was INCREDIBLY arrogant and cocky. I think it diminished her legacy because now people look and say "once she was put up against real fighters she fell apart". Then her saying how worthless she felt once she lost and kind of turned into a helpless damsel in distress, then blew her comeback fight. Really sad.

    Quite right, RR was obscenely egotistical, so much so that she was incapable of showing any humility after her HH loss. If she had, she might have realized that "Hey, I'm not as good as I think I am, nor as good as the goofball, ass-kissing, MMA promoters, and talking heads say I am". That was her opportunity to genuinely, critique her total lack of stand-up skills/coordination and get REAL, EXPERT help to deal w/it. However, she was too arrogant to see the truth, hence, again, she was completely unprepared, and outclassed, and took a severe, beating. I'm so glad that it happened to her, she is an immature, bully, that got her long-overdue come-uppence. She is such a small person, I doubt even the HH, and AN experiences could help her mature.

    The comments theweasle made in the beginning about Rhonda are accurate based on Ronda Rousey body language and based on her demeanor as the fight progressed. A fighter always studies their opponent beforehand to see what type of a fighter they are and they always look to see what their strengths and their weaknesses are which means Rhonda should have known what Amanda would do based on Amanda's previous fights. So stop making excuses for Rhonda. Rhonda was domesticated by the fight with Holly. Rhonda was all confidence and no heart

    I'll say it again. I don't think Nunes kick did much. Holm won by neutralizing Rousey's cinch combined with impeccable footwork and ducking. She kept her head down and made use of lateral movement to keep varying the range. That tends to throw off offensive-minded opponents. Holm picked her shots carefully. She could just as easily have finished off Rousey with a right hook rather than the now famous round house kick.

    I've seen Cyborg get kicked in the head and get right the fuck back up so I'm pretty sure she could keep going while Nunes is punching her in the face if that were to ever happen. However, Nunes has almost unequivocally stated that she doesn't want to fight cyborg, though she might move up a class to fight whoever wins the Holms-Gendarmie bout.

    Really simple. Rhonda Rousey was the first champ and women's great because she had olympic class judo skills. Period. There was NO competition because women's mma was in it's infancy. Once more well-rounded females came along, she got exposed. This breakdown is great and all but, the point is she's one-dimensional and isn't nearly as great as people tried to make her out to be.

    Ronda Rousey has been doing MMA for over SEVEN years... and yet she still has not learned the Basic Fundamentals of Striking or Wrestling. Ronda does not know how to shoot a Double or Single Leg Takedown, nor does she know how to et up those types of shots. (that is why Miesha could get Holly to the ground whereas Ronda had troubles). Ronda has TWO weapons -- a Judo Hip Toss and a mean Arm bar... that's it, nothing else. Ronda need to get the fight to the ground in order to attempt her arm bar. In order to get the fight to the ground, Ronda needs to get her Judo Hip Toss. In order for Ronda to get her Judo Hip Toss... Ronda must get into the clinch. People want to say it is her bad coaching, but I disagree, I see it as Ronda is not coachable. For over 7 years, she has been training in MMA, they have brought people in who specialize in Striking, specialize in Wrestling and Takedowns..... and still she has failed to learn the Basic Fundamentals. That says to me that Ronda is not learning or retaining what they have been trying to teach her. Sometimes, you just get an athlete that is just not coachable. Here is another thing I see... The evolution of WMMA. When Ronda started in he UFC, the level of competition was basically nothing, no "real" fighters, women who have made careers from fighting. No need to even mention the Olympic Wrestlers (wrestling is not fighting). Slowly, as Female Fighters' contracts in whatever combat sport they was doing ended, they were able to migrate to MMA. Now... you see women in the UFC that have the experience doing combat sports, and it shows. Shevchenko(over 60 Muay Thai matches), Holly Holm(boxing and KB experience), Germaine de Randamie (46-0 Kickboxing), etc. , etc. The days of a One-Dimensional Fighter are gone.

    Ronda can't go for a single leg lol. She's a Judoka not an MMA fighter. Also Floyd may be a complete rookie at grappling, but his advantage as a man means he has around 40-60% more upper body strength at the same weight, any idea what a huge advantage that is? Even if Ronda is able to close with him for a moment he's probably strong enough to (while throwing perfect uppercuts) push her away without any trouble. Now i know what you're going to say: Strength doesn't matter against technique but let me just tell you that it does, its a huge difference, just not as important as knowing how to use it.

    Technically, this is a good evaluation. What everyone is missing though, is the lack of strategy from Rousey and her camp that has been there from the beginning. She's gotten by on technique for so long because her techniques is so good but without strategy, it's like handing a chef a bag of world class tools and asking him to fix a car.

    Ronda always did the same technique of clinching when they're too close and going for the takedown as soon as possible to get the armbar. She tried to clinch around 5 times during a 40-second fight, but Amanda simply shoved her away and then kept going with the beating. Sad.

    Very good analysis, and good call on that kick by Amanda Nunes. It's true, it was completely missed by most. In the Holm fight, Holly had said she was aiming high with her kicks so Ronda wouldn't catch them. It's interesting that Amanda used a kick to the body and Ronda didn't capitalize on it and didn't try to catch it at all. She just seemed deer in the headlights the entire fight.

    What really happened,was that “Lousey Rousey” ran into a fighter.Not someone that went in there to wrestle,but someone that really put her in her place,by knocking the shit right out of her.An arm bar is not really going to do it for you,when you run into a fighter way out of your class.

    You did a great job. It really does look like that body kick was the strike which started the sequence of her previously, unexplainable retreat, and subsequent loss. It definitely puts a new perspective on why it all went down that way. To me, it's nice to get some verifiable reasoning. Those dang body shots can put you in a world of hurt, and everything after is fits together now. Thanks

    Your commentary has been the most accurate, the most descriptive, incise and balanced documentation of fighting available today. The excitement and fairness that you bring to the table is good. It's important to point out what people are doing wrong without making them look bad. You do that well.

    Great review, as usual, Weasle! Again, thank you for sharing. I'm pretty sure you provide the most articulate and thorough fight breakdowns out of anybody. The only thing that would make them better is if you were to use short video clips and snippets instead of still images. I realize there might be some issues with copyright violations and such - but there are ways around that that I see people using all of the time. Have you ever considered this?

    Great vids man, just curious why didn't you go more into detail into Ronda's footwork, awkward punching technique, distance management, and lack of defense and head movement, it would be nice to see a breakdown of her as a striker, you did mention some but it would be good to see a more detailed analysis showing how she sets up and reactions etc. Your analysis on her parrying was great. Be nice to see a little more about the detriment her coach has been to her striking leading her to believe that she is a good striker when she lacks even the most fundamental aspects of boxing such as head movement and foot placement. Basically to go a little deeper into what you were already discussing regarding Rondas awkward stance and movement. Thanks! Keep up the great work. 👍🏽

    So, could that front kick have injured Ronda, knocked the air out of her or bruised ribs or something? I didn't see anyone else include that kick in their fight analysis\breakdown either and I wondered if it hurt her physically or just mentally

  • @TheWeasleMMA

    @TheWeasleMMA

    7 жыл бұрын

    The initial front kick seemed to have hurt Ronda, most likely knocked the wind out of her for a second. The fact that her legs closed in and she stood up taller and bringing her arms lower and forward right after the impact from the front kick showed a sign that the kick had most likely knocked the wind out of her a bit. It could have hurt her ribs too, it is quite difficult to exactly pinpoint the where the damage was but it definitely was one of those results. It seemed to have hurt Ronda physically and the continuous punishment afterward could have hurt her mentally as well.

  • @windrider987

    @windrider987

    7 жыл бұрын

    Considering Ronda's ability to take punishment shouldn't be shot after so much time and how in shape she was, its hard to imagine a front kick could land clean enough on Ronda to make her start collapsing. Then again, if Amanda did hit Ronda in the Sternum or Solar Plexus, then an impact that early into her first fight back definitely must have been a shock. More than anything it acted as a stun gun shot. To make matters worse, its nearly impossible to train for receiving punishment in those areas.

    the reason Ronda was using that technique is because it is easier for her to hook the arm then trap it...allowing her set up the clinch.

    All the dislikes are from Ronda fans. LOL.. Ronda didn't pave the way for female mma fighters. There were plenty of females that were fighting before her. Ppl don't know this because they started watching women's mma when she came to the UFC. Gina Carano was actually the first female mma star NOT Ronda. Ronda was just the first 'UFC' female star.
