What other fish do wild bettas live with in the wild?! Re-release fry for conservation of wild betta
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
Video showing a small part of my conservation work for Wild Betta smaragdinas in my local area with the re-release of 100-200 fry that were bred from parents which we collected last year into their habitat to help stabilised wild population, later in the video we also attempted to see what other inhabitants were living amongst wild Bettas for a better understanding of their environment and potential tank mates.

I'd be more worried about pieces of glass or sharp metal in the water. People throw their waste just about everywhere.
You could become the absolute top Betta channel on KZread just by releasing videos more often and regularly! The coverage of their natural habitats is unique to you. I would love to see more of this.
This is really great! I really want to improve my wild tanks and do a better job trying to recreate a natural habitat and this is SOO helpful and educational.

I don’t have another tank available for another betta. Kasia, have any that would be good in a mixed community setup? Our water should be rather similar
pH less than 5. Jeepez, tough fish.
Wow, I really love the look of wild bettas! Am I the only one who would prefer wild ones/ natural colours over bred ones?
This is effing amazing, show us more of the water habitats around you. Bettas, Gouramis anything you can find! I have Opalines, Pygmy Gouramis and Splendens (not in same tank lol) and would love to know the fish they would likely coinhabit with.
Frank, first off, thank you for your conservation work. So many breeders are just worried about producing fish and getting their money. With you looking to the future and working to maintain these fish at a sustainable level and further, at a genetically pure level, you're doing so much more the hobby, and we appreciate it. Secondly, I was curious if the pond you're releasing the young adults into is on your private land or if it's public? The concern, of course, being that someone might come along after you've released fish and capture them for their own use. Third (and I'm sorry for bombarding you with multiple questions), do you know what TYPE of loaches they were that you mentioned seeing while releasing the bettas? I'm very curious because I'm planning on setting up an authentic biotope aquarium for bettas (which, yes, I plan on purchasing from you), and I would, therefore, like to include the same specific types of other fish found in that environment. Are there any shrimp or other crustaceans present?

Its someones elses land and this place is open to people catching but only kids who are just getting into the hobby which does remind me of myself as a kid usually catching doesnt have as a big impact as its not comercial so people just do it to get fish to keep rather than catch to sell so numbers dont get effected at all so thats not a worry. The big worry is since its this persons land they may fill it in at any time, ive alqays thought about saving money and buying it but it would cost much less to build an actual pond for this line on my own land

@@Franksbettas Awesome! That's so good to hear. Thank you!
I'm speechless, this is so great, the environment, the way you respect and describe the nature and the fish.
I remember DM'ing you quite a few years ago on IG about your conservation efforts as a young betta breeder myself. It fills me with joy to see you continue the very much needed efforts of conservation which most breeders do not pursue, you are an inspiration to me and hopefully many other breeders out there.

It fills me with passion and appreciation for the wild species keeping a few aliens and seeing the differences in behavior, they are beautiful and fascinating and I want more, but don't know which species to pursue! Frank, is there a particularly troubled species that conservationists should focus upon?
I love this. Thank you for giving back to nature.
Great video and beautiful fish! Loved hearing about what you have going on at the farm and seeing you get out and collect
Very Awesome!! 🏆 Thank You for what you're doing to help with conservation. 👍
Thank you so much for doing this. We need more people like you in this world.
I want more of this stuff, great video, great work
This video is gold man. I always struggle to find information on a fish natural habitat when I want to set up a biotope. I hope everyone who is able to access natural habitats of different species of fish would follow your example! Keep it up!

wow i love it that you're doing conservation work.... thanks for doing it in behalf of all the hobbyists who want to do it, too, but can't.
Great Video yet again, big shoutout from all the IGL members and wild betta researchers/breeders/enthusiasts from Germany. Your work does so much in terms of awareness for wild and naturally occurring betta species. Would love to get a profile on all the other species in the splendens complex in their habitats or different type localities. Hell, as a huge B. Rubra & B. Macrostoma fan, I would kill for a habitat video, if you are one day in the Indo/Brunei area. Keep it up!
Such a nice project and such nice videos. It gives me some hope for the world! Keep up the good work!

Great video fella and hello from wales 🔥🔥🐲
Thanks for the great video! KZread needs more videos like these. And now I want to go to Thailand and catch and breed Bettas lol.
Nice video , ive see those rasboras at fish shops sold as brilliant rasboras theyre beautiful!
Grate see that !
Well done sir
Always watch your videos big fan from India 🙌💜
Thanks for the awesome work you do to preserve the natural numbers! 🙌 I have a commercially bred Betta in with some Corys and a Bristlenose, and I’m looking to set her up in a tank more suited to her liking. (And also to be able to move some of my incessantly breeding shrimp into the big tank.) This video helped give me ideas!
Good job

Great video thanks for sharing and caring. You are braver than me going barefoot 😜👍🎈
a I really like your content
The catfish on the video is Ompok sp. , possibly O. krattensis or O. bimaculatus.First time here, love the channel..
I have that Rasbora..bought them almost two years ago and yes,they like stay where I have a Syngonium with its big root system in the water and the plant above..its a big aquarium and those little fish are near perfect schooling and darting. In fact,months ago I added three small Roseline barbs and the two fish looked so much alike they schooled together. Now? no-lol,the Roselines are much larger these days!
Amazing job!!! Super cool to see all the different fish as well! One question if that's okay! Do the wild type bettas need any different care than the domestic ones you find in petstores?
New sub great video
The sound of the jar rotateing on the glass table....i love it:)))

Would love to see underwater cam. Excellent content.
They are naturally wonderful and beautiful even they don't posses glowing colours.
You are Thai. Your English is so good.
lol thats what i have been commenting that betta need shallow water , foreigners keep putting them in big ass deep tanks
@csillakaszas7285

Sure, depth has priority over stable water parameters, filtration and temperature... wait...
@kidwolf0015
3 жыл бұрын
@@csillakaszas7285 Honestly, the answer is to get long tanks. A 10 gallon-long, for example will have about the same depth as a 5 gallon with all of the benefits of a typical 10 gallon. It's just twice as long as the 5 gallon. That's the best type of tank in my opinion at least.
@rolandrees6965

sdq sdq Not all foreigners put bettas in big ass deep tanks. Some of us do our research, want what's best for the fish. And do what is right.
Keep up the great work! Maybe can invest in a gopro for underwater footage, which adds a whole new dimension of visual content to your channel. Cheers! :)
