Not playing cricket in Pakistan or bilateral is symbolic, India is playing with Pak in icc tournaments. Now If India travels to pakistan, an argument can be made in UN speech, - one side you say no dialogue with Pakistan till terrorism ends on other side you are playing cricket, this puts India on weak footing. In India, this translates to votes. And this happens in other sports as well, Russia is at receiving end in many sports. Same with Iran, Afghanistan and north Korea. In today's world, sports is much more than a game, it's a symbol of nationalism, a tool for diplomacy especially cricket in India and Pakistan. And India wants Pakistan to react if India doesn't travel, this will help India to bury Pak cricket deep down like hockey. Can Pakistan afford to miss world cups and run cricket in pak? India can. Till 2031,no other championship being hosted in Pakistan,in 7-8 years lot can happen and with rise of Afghanistan, focus on USA, things will be different. Already, people are bored with hyped up rivalry with Pak, it's 15-1 now. Indian Test matches with Australia and England are more gripping. AND Nothing has changed between India and Pak relations in 15 years. India will Not travel to Pakistan, period. Dubai is a different story. And why Pakistan is giving preferential treatment to india, all matches in Lahore, same group etc. Because India matters, perhaps the most in cricketing world and it's a fact. Might is always right.

Indian team should not travel to Pakistan to play this tournament. I would rather send Nepal instead.
