What NOT To Do When Using Decodable Texts
Decodable texts are great to use in Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 2nd grade classrooms so that students are seeing phonics patterns in the context of reading. There are definitely some things to do, and not to do, when it comes to decodable texts though!

Your suggestions are so helpful! I’m now continually making decodable texts for tutoring at-risk children 1st-8th grade, catered to each of their specific holes in phonics. I would really take a look at why they're bored - could the text be too easy or difficult? Or maybe the text topic isn't engaging?
