    I love this perspective on veganism. Vegan eating doesn’t necessarily mean a green smoothie and a big salad. Sometimes it’s really simple or something most people can relate to eating. People don’t think about it, but pasta and tomato sauce, PB&J, cereal, baked potatoes, and loads of other common foods are vegan (or easily made vegan)! Also,one doesn’t have to be vegan to enjoy vegan food. Most people eat some vegan food with every meal.

    I don't know if I would be able to be with someone that isn't vegan or to have a family with a non-vegan Being vegan isn't just a preference such as you favourite holiday spot or your choice of deco, it is fundamental part of who we are as people, it is at the core of our identity, it is part of how we see the world aorund us and it is ingrained as one of our deepest values.

    It may define you that way, but others may see it differently. Many can make the same arguments for religion as well. I guess it's all about how tolerant someone is or how important the things you said are to them. Everyone is different.

    The best way to encourage change is to have them watch Dominion and ask if this is something they want to support. Remind them of the victims on their plate if they decide to continue eating body parts. Give them time to figure it out but set a time limit: how long are you willing to support someone who understands they are abusing animals yet continues to do so?

    Being vegan is about the horrific slaughter of animals who have no choice. Let's not pretend its ok. If he ate dogs would you respect his choice to eat dogs?

  • @user-no2mz9hl4f

    @user-no2mz9hl4f

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@jjbenna Yes, of course you’re right. However, practically speaking, this tactic doesn’t usually go over well. As vegans, I think we can all agree that our priority is to prevent animal suffering. We can do this by not participating in it ourselves, and inspiring others to do the same. Being really reactive about someone’s decision to eat meat is likely going to make her defensive and then she stops listening. I think we have to remember that most of us have not been lifelong vegans. Most of us participated in animal exploitation long after we had the ability to stop (babies don’t know any better, and have no say in the matter). Personally, I find it helpful to separate the actions from the person. I can love a person and hate her choices. I can respect a person for some actions, and despise others.

    Your perspective on non-vegan partners has helped me so much in my relationship with a meat eater! My husband definitely eats animal products every day, but has recently been asking to join in on whatever vegan meal I make for myself. In the past, he would make an entirely separate meal for himself, whereas now he'll have my vegan meal and maybe some meat or cheese on top/on the side. Being less pushy and just keepin' on keepin' on, cooking amazing plant food, going with the flow...it's the way to be! I can even see it leaking out across our extended families now :)

Either way, it's no less of reason to do what your heart says is the best for your body, the planet, and other animals!. I find it very beautiful when people can find respect for others' individuality and choices whilst staying true to their own. Antagonism helps no one, lead by example! ❤️

That is something I think about because I want to raise our children vegan but my husband consumes some and doesn’t want to be seen as a villain for eating meat. Not sure how to go about it. Thoughts?!? My husband is mostly plant based but does eat meat twice a week. I agree so much with this video and would love more about this. @plants4passions V what do you think the standard American diet mostly consists of? Sugar and yeast not good quality meat or dairy. Sugar and yeast are “vegan”

    Everyone is entitled to do what they want!!! You sound like a very judgmental person! You do you and stop worrying about what others are doing!!! Put that focus and energy on being more accepting of others 😊

    @@CL-km7rj I don't respect people who are aware of the immense abuse behind animal agriculture yet continue to pay for it to happen. Personally, this would be a reason for a divorce, but I understand others have a different tolerance threshold. He knows he can be vegan, but he decides not to be, that is not a trait worthy of husbandry.

    @@Veganphobic I don't live with my mom, I'm married and thankfully my wife is also vegan after I pressed that our household should stop supporting horrible things to animals. We need to have compassion for the victims not the nonvegans who know what happens to animals and decide it doesn't matter enough for them to change.
