Today I’m going to share with you how to make one of my childhood meald, this is the type of meals my mom used to pack me for lunch and let me tell you it used to be the BEST!!! before learnign how to amke tortillas de harina (flour tortillas) I learned how to make gorditas because its seriously easier to roll 😂so if you are learning I highly suggest you to make gorditas, you can never ever go wrong with them! 😉Keep in mind, like every recipe and every household,are tons of variations that make this delicious recipe, you can constantly adjust it to your taste; I hope you enjoy it as much as my family and I do, and as always, if you do, please don’t forget to give me a big thumbs up, comment down below your thoughts and if you new to my channel, please hit that subscribe button so you can be part of our family!!!!!! 😘

Ingredients: 15 Gorditas
4 cups APF I use King Arthur
6 tbsp lard, shortning (melted) or vegetable oil
1 1/2 - 1 3/4 cup hot water (as hot as your hands can handle)
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
filling:
1 1/2 ground beef I use (97/3)
12 New mexico chile pods I use the orange bag
4 tomatillos
3 garlic cloves
salt
1 tsp oregano
1/2 tsp ground cumin
2 bay leaves
1 serving of love 💕

For some reason I enjoy the editing when you use the blender, the way you just catch the split second when you hear the motor revving down. Really well done. In this video, in particular, I appreciate how you checked for taste. In so many of your videos you say it’s “perfect” and I’m always thinking “there’s no way it’s perfect” so it was good to see a time when the salt level was not perfect and you took the time to add more salt.

Thank you!!! Hands down to my husband that edits and just is a master at his craft! For the most part I get my salt on point since I already know how much to use 😅 but because I’m now working on lowering the sodium level intake well I’m trying to figure it out again

You forgot the most, important thing she says in her videos "FOR ME, it's perfect!" And that's because, when you're used to making something over and over again, you already know how it's going to come out...which is why she instructs people to add more salt, if need be.

Those are good memories Claudia 🙃 I remember when I used to pack lunches like that to my kids when they were in elementary school, then there was a time they were embarrassed of their lunch cause everyone would eat the school lunch so finally they asked to get school lunch it only lasted a week 😂 they were like I don’t want that garbage food 🤣 so they had Mexican food again 😅😂🤣

Thanknyou for this. Many of us out here can't afford buying great cuts of meat you use in the wonderful recipes you make. Can you post more videos using hamburger meat? Hamburger and Papas and beans were eaten so frequently in my household growing up due to affordability and large family size. Thank you Claudia
