This time it is about materials and into which groups they are divided: Metals, non-metals as well as composites. Roman Stabauer (iWFT) and Sebastian Wulf (TOOL FACTORY) explain under which group e.g. heavy metals, heat-treatable steels or aluminum fall. They will also discuss microstructures and their properties, as well as the influence of the various alloys and heat treatments on machining. Among other things, the influences of chromium, titanium or lead on the machinability of materials are examined in more detail.

Sehr kompakt die Basics super erklärt 👍 Bzgl Silizium würde ich eher sagen das es sich negativ auf den Spanbruch auswirkt, habe viel mit AlMgSi0,5 und 1,0 zu tun und Spankontrolle und -bruch ist hier immer ein großes Thema. Bei Nichtrostenden Stählen muss man wirklich stark unterscheiden, gibt hier Sorten die wirklich easy zu bearbeiten sind und dann das komplette Gegenteil z.b. 1.4571 welches echt ne Herausforderung ist.
