    I just got Fabfilter Pro-Q-3 yesterday finally. It's like I have an endless amount of VST-Plugins it's awesome but can be a pain sometimes because you come to a point where you have too many options. I have 3 DAWs. Cubase, Mixcraft & Reaper but pretty much only track in Cubase. I have the Slate Digital Everything Bundle which really is the best bang for your buck when it comes to analog mic pre simulation and all the other amazing stuff that it comes with.

    Hey dude great video. I had a question maybe you might be able to answer if you have a moment. Let's say I have pro Q3 on snare track. And I am creating two dynamic bands that I am going to set up as a side chain to two different instruments within that 1 pro Q3 plug-in I have on that snare track.. I've noticed when I try to do this. And try to Side chain the two bands to two different instruments. They automatically default to the same one. Do you know if I have to have separate pro Q3 plug-ins on the snare track, one designated to the different instrument that I am going to side chain to? I thought I would be able to side chain multiple bands to any instrument for side chaining within the same one pro Q3 plug-in on the track. Hopefully I didn't confuse you. Anyway thanks again for posting such a great video

    Hi Mike, is there any chance you can give us any pointers on how to reduce electrical noise from a PC, i have tried everything to stop it, is there a device I can get to stop it? Great channel, great content, from an avid cakewalk user.

  • @24hrMusic

    @24hrMusic

    2 жыл бұрын

    I think that might be a very long video. There are many causes and ways to address PC noise (hum, crackle, buzz, etc.). It could be the PC, but noise could come from almost anywhere. High static environments, hardware, connections, inputs, outputs, cables, processor speed, and drivers just to name a few. To help narrow things down, try to isolate where and when you hear it. Do you hear noise when playing MIDI instruments? Or, is it only when using your microphone? Etc. This will help identify the source. Although often hardware related, noise can sometimes come from software. For example: settings within Cakewalk. I have even seen cases where Focusrite solo and similar interfaces simply require a reinstall of the driver. Other times it is where the audio interface is located or types of cables being used. If you are having a difficult time tracking it down. Unplug everything (even printers) and check for noise. Then slowly add components back in. Or, if you have a buddy, try your hardware on their system. Best of luck...

    I have Pro-Q 3, Am I missing out on Pro-Q 2. I didn’t get Pro-Q 2 because I have the third Pro-Q, but now thinking if Pro-Q 2 has anything cool and unique that Pro-Q 3 doesn’t have. Of course the third one is way superior, but I haven’t been able to get a simple answer on if Pro-Q 2 would be worth to get even tho I have Pro-Q 3, or would it just literally be wasting money

    I constantly argue software creators to build intelligence into their offerings, much like FabFilter does in Pro-Q 3. The bottom line is, engineers have more work than ever to achieve a given result, and that fact makes no sense at all. Computers should be anticipating our intents. Who would object to that? No one I know. Some DAWs think it is an impressive feature that they offer 30-40 options for automation, sound design, and modification. I feel the exact opposite on the subject. Anyone who can reduce that number to a handful is doing the real advanced work and all my purchases of plugins are guided by that reasoning.

    Everyone talks about the design and the features. Who cares? Can we start by talking about the sound???? How does it sound as compared to GML, Focusrite, Midas etc? Not a word about how it sounds.......

  • @CreativeSauce

    @CreativeSauce

    Жыл бұрын

    Its a transparent EQ - its not designed to be coloured or have a 'sound'. That's why the features are the main focus and you wont hear anyone talking about the sound. The other EQs you mention may have characteristics because of the components used. As for 'who cares' - mostly people interested in efficient workflow.
