Breguet is an amazing brand. I visited their Geneva flagship store last week and tried on a few watches. They have several guillocheuses in the the store. They are not just static displays and I had a long chat with a Master Guillocheur, had a demo and got to try my hand at it. Fabulous experience!

Breguet... The history, the beauty, the class... The best.

I love the idea that Breguet dials are still crafted in exactly the same manner, two hundred years later - hand operated rose engines. Even the most modest of Classique has a dial of solid gold, with guilloche laid by hand. It’s both continuity, and also a refusal to verge even one iota from the highest quality of dial-making

I got to handle a couple of Napoleon's personal pistols a few years ago at Sothebys. Gloved and very much supervised! Just unbelievable.

Thanks for doing this. I adore the Breguet classique and there's too little coverage of their pieces on KZread. A Classique is without doubt my grail watch.

Not underrated, but rather overlooked.

Prefer these to any Rolex if PP- just their classical design to me wouldn't look out of place on Mount Olympus! Stunning, beautiful. Thank you & Happy Christmas and New year 👍🏻

One of your best videos. A shame more people aren't aware of Breguet. A shame more people want superhero themed tool watches they'll never utilise... But, wow. Breguet are fantastic. As a fine gun enthusiast I appreciate your analogy. I'm looking for my first dress watch and am torn between Breguet (heart) and A Lange & Sohne (head). I do like those white enamel dials though...

The duelling pistol reference was very relevant to this particular brand! And take a look at the engraving on something like a Purdey shotgun, both disciplines relying on Artisans of different genres, and then all coming together to an end result of something of exquisite beauty and function! Brequet have a niche, something they, and they alone do fantastically, it is such an underestimated brand, and every gentleman will always have a dress watch at one part of his life in his collection!

Even Cartier looks modern next to a Breguet IMO! As you mentioned I think it captures the French spirit of elegance very well. Blancpain's Villeret line also has a somewhat similar feeling in capturing elegance but not in a French way, just a smidgen different. Anyway thank you for covering Breguet, the classique line is one of my dream watch lines

Cartier is early 20th century, Breguet is more than a 100 years before. Makes sense that Cartier has kept more modern lines of design compared to Breguet.

I actually trained as a gunsmith before I went back to finish my graphic design degree. I Understand what you mean About the craftsmanship aspect. But that’s one of the big reasons I got back into watches so significantly, it has all the qualities now that I used to enjoy about the actual old trade.

I have 5157 and 3137.. they are simply masterpiece.

Nice video of a way underrated and rarely told about Classic/Classy brand. Sold my last VC more than 10 yrs ago , and my black Cerachrom GMT last month but always kept a Breguet. Started with 5920 BA than a 3400 SA than a 3787 BA and finally to my 3330 BA so I can put on a factory gold bracelet to make it a His & Hers with my wife’s manual wind ( don’t remember the ref #) with diamond bezel on a gold bracelet. 5920 BA is still my favorite !

Oh!!! I LOVE the Breguet Classique range. I’ve considered selling watches to make one my first true dress watch. Another great video here my friend. I hope that you had a marvellous Christmas! ✊

I had the pleasure to spend some 2 hours at the Breguet boutique in Vienna, together with a good friend and watch nerd: Unforgettable hours. Breguet is very unique and higher rated than the hyped names in the holy trinity. Ps. Breguet takes it seriously: The shop manager in Vienna is a master watchmaker.

Breguet is one of the rarest "no concession" brand. Such as A L&S. And it has a lot of unique design détails and noble mouvements.

Ha! Been porning over this the last 24 hours and until I read your comment I’d forgotten I really dislike Roman numerals on watches… but on this it’s so perfect and fitting.

Yeah. I love the Breguet. I also like your video. These days, Patek or Rolex is more about the "show off". The Breguet is all about true fine watch making and great taste of elegance. I am so please and happy to see the brand starts to get more well deserved appreciation.

I think the products in 1990s is the best chice to buy a Breguet, Swatch's acc has made Breguet idle in design...

I'm a pure dress watch guy and I do believe that dress watches deserve higher price tags because of more details and better movements.

Of course Breguet is considered. It is just the price that is stopping people from buying.
