It’s the uv’s. A mate of mine makes his shrooms bounce by adding an extra uv light above his shroom basket.

Depending if he is adding led or t5 he might not actually be adding any uv, as leds don't produce much if any uv

Bounce Mushroom Corals are extremely rare and are part of the Rhodactis family. This is why they are also very easy to take care of due to their hardiness. They are usually found in islands of the Indopacific like Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tonga, as well as Great Barrier Reef. So, if you have a mushroom that has the lineage of a bounce mushroom then it will eventually bounce. Mushrooms that are birthed rather than ones that split or are cut in half to propagate look 10 times better. The natural birthed baby will always come out way nicer. You do have to be very careful with placement as the bubbles can burst and this can kill the coral. Placing them on the sand is the best option and away from rocks or other coral that may have a chance to poke at the bubbles. You can however, get mushrooms to bounce with intense BLUE LIGHT. This is what makes them bounce even more.

Gorgeous shrooms! So putting them in higher par makes them bounce more? How come the really bouncy og is on bottom then? Do they like higher or lower nutrients? Do oyu dose iodine? I am a newbie collector and dont want to loose mine! Also I want to start a frag tank for them but worried that a new system may not be stabile enough! What are you thoughts on that! i am definitely going to run out of room in my 2 nanos 20g and 36 plus collecting high end zoas to put with shrooms in frag tank. Low flow is best right?. Did you have to acclimate the ones on top?

They are basically being sun burnt. Like your skin gets boils from the sun burn. Thats what the guy from WWC told me anyways.

My bounce still bounce and i use metal halides so i dont think its the leds og biohazard franks they bounce and get huge under my halides

Dat stache tho.

I cut my Og bounce into three frags to experiment. I placed each one in a different area in the tank. (High, medium, low) As you stated the one in low light at the bottom lost the majority of its bubbles. I looked at it as “healing” as well and ended up moving it higher up in the tank for more light. Now all three stay in high intensity par, low flow near the top of my nano and are bouncing well!

Do yu think higher lighting makes them bounce more? someone is trading me 2 mardi grai bounces for a double hammer and so far they don t have bubbles. Would you suggest I start them low then move up top? I also have a rhodactis called pot of gold and I have him pretty high and looks like he is starting to bounce! great video and I am green over your shrooms! LOL

Yes high light will make them Bounce! And feed them!

They don’t do it fast and some not at all is just trial and error but lighting seems to really get them going

Disregard that message I have an OG bounce it was huge it was real buggery and I took some rock out of there to big old chunks of rock And all of a sudden I started bleaching how can I bring it back to life please help desperately get back to me ASAP

I thought it was UV I moved on to a radian G5 blue and don't use white and my button scolly bounced see in profile pic I put it on KZread
