What Makes Christians So Great? - Colossians 1:3-8 - Skip Heitzig

Episode 2 from the series Always Only Jesus with Skip Heitzig. Watch the complete series:
• Always Only Jesus
One of the best compliments you could ever receive is, “You are a great Christian.” Of course, there are no perfect people and thus no perfect Christians. But every true Christian is a great Christian because of five traits observed by the apostle Paul in this paragraph of Colossians. He was thankful for the work of Christ in their lives, which rendered them valuable (great) in the sight of God and for the purpose of His cause. Let’s explore them.
This teaching is from the series Always Only Jesus with Skip Heitzig from Calvary Church.

One wonders how much more of a mess the world would be in if Jesus had not come into the world. Perhaps the most tragic words in the Bible are those in John 1:10 … “He was in the world and the world (the earth) was made through Him, but the world (of humanity) did not know Him.” I also wonder when God will decide our “iniquity is full” - especially considering that our leadership considers it a “health emergency” when the most innocent among us cannot be easily eliminated. God help us…the only hope for this world is the return of Christ. God bless Pastor Skip for speaking the truth.

I want to compliment Calvary’s design team for your unique series styles! You always have such a harmonious, cohesive artistic design for each series. I love the font you chose for this series-the 1970s style rounded, italicized lettering is a perfect fit with the series, starting with Pastor Skip’s story about becoming a pastor in California. I can picture everything from that era just from seeing that font. 😊 Maybe this is a weird comment, but I wanted to let you know how impactful your artistic efforts are in shaping a unique online presence! Love Calvary and my Connect Group!

There is no love in the world because they took God out of it. 1 John 4:8 says He that loveth not knoweth not God for God is love." If God is love and you remove Him, guess what goes with Him?

@@dahlmer1234 Well, I _was_ joking. That little smiley face icon at the end of my post should have given you a clue. Admittedly, I'm the only one who thinks I'm funny. But Christians don't seem to be better than anyone else, and many of you seem to be much _worse_ than other people. If you're being guided by an all-knowing, all-powerful, all-benevolent deity, that's certainly not obvious. I mean, there are some very nice Christians, but there are the exact opposite, too. Admittedly, Christians can't even agree with _each other_ about much of anything, let alone with the other faith-based people in the world, even when you're all supposedly following the same magic book supposedly provided to you by the same supposedly all-knowing deity. Your god is either completely inept or... simply imaginary. But the big problem with Christians - and all theists - is that you're faith-based, not evidence-based. You believe what you _want_ to be true - almost always based on the particular religion and particular god or gods you were taught to believe as a child - and not what you have good reason to think really _is_ true. And faith-based thinking is destroying my country and my world. Faith is not a good thing. There is nothing - literally _nothing_ - that's so crazy, so silly, or so harmful that it _can't_ be defended by an appeal to faith.
