I made a playlist so you can listen to all the terrible songs in this video: kzread.info/head/PLMsKfAIUKrVZgAzY02nHWitt1x8WANDc_ Thank you so much for the support! This is now my most viewed video, which is very exciting. A few corrections/clarifications: - 8:43 I personally have no issue with Nickelback. - 13:05 Corey’s Angels is a reference to Charlie’s angels. However, the album’s title track includes the line “your mission, should you choose to accept it”, which is a direct quote from the Mission Impossible series. - 17:33 Pop Champagne isn’t by Jim Jones. It’s by Ron Browz *featuring* Juelz Santana and Jim Jones. - 21:47 DEMONDICE isn’t a V-Tuber, just a regular KZreadr. Her alter ego, Mori Calliope, is a V-Tuber and from what I’ve heard her music has improved a lot! - I know it looks like Nathan Explosion in the thumbnail, but it’s not. I didn’t even know who he was before I posted this video! Corey Feldman is just harder to draw accurately than I thought he would be. Thank you for watching!

You may have misinterpreted the Blood on the Dancefloor story. Check my comment for the explanation, as I recall the whole "you done goofed" drama before the song ever came out, and the incident became something of a meme with her dad in the video.

Mixing is, strictly, adjusting the levels of various channels in the recording, but that's also partially under the umbrella of production. Rick Rubin, for example, is a legendary producer who's worked with dozens of top level acts for decades, and he basically shows up, scratches his beard, and says "hey maybe put a trumpet there? I do feel the need to say that the Radke point got misrepresented. He didn’t murderer a dude and neither went to prison for it, he was present at a gathering where a guy got stabbed. When the cops showed up, he was arrested for possession of a dangerous object cuz he had brass knuckles on him and got 5 years of probation. He wasn’t involved in the fight and was never charged with murder. The only reason why he actually went to prison in the end is cuz he was arrested 3 years later for DUI wich was a probation violation. That’s why he served the last 2 remaining years of his sentence.

Kinda embarrassing how much I had to scroll to find this. Not really sure how Game Over is a "cringe" song either. There is nothing objectively bad about it. I can understand why someone might find Ronnie's mixtape cringe, but why throw shade at a song like Game Over, which is a song that basically tells the listener to get off their ass and do something about their problems instead of sulking about and being a bitch about them?

@@ThirteenAmp As someone who genuinely does not like Nickelback, I can tell you that people who do hate Nickelback exist and for more than "it's just popular to hate on Nickelback" hype. Nickelback to me is pretty much the go-to in my mind for the kind of generic pop-rock that people think of when talking about music meant to appease some corporate guy at a record label, the musical equivalent of candy corn. Inoffensive, bland, cheap and unchanging, meant to buy in bulk and safely forget about. The sort of thing carefully designed and shaped to attach to a commercial. They were everywhere because whenever someone needed to sell something to you, a Nickelback song could be carefully dissected and distributed to whoever needed a lyrical soundbite for a thirty second ad rip, and not just one song, but entire albums could be used this way. Even their most anti-authority stuff, like "This Afternoon" and "Burn it to the Ground" sound like they were made to get you to buy a pack of Budweiser and a Dodge Ram using nostalgia aimed at people twice the band's age. I'm not saying that all music needs to be fresh or challenging. But Nickelback's discography is just the same generally inoffensive and unchanging blandness delivered consistency over years, a musical gruel that never changes, even just to be generic in a different way. The two exceptions to this in my mind are "Into The Night", even tough that's mostly carried by Carlos Santana's guitar work, and the song that put them on the map, "Hero". And hey, you like Nickelback? That's fine. That's your preference and I won't try to change your mind. But don't assume in turn that people like me hate Nickelback just because some comedian I've personally never heard of told us to two decades ago, because there is a lot of valid critique to be made about their music.

I feel like the reason why most of these people make bad music is because they don’t listen to music. Most big artists and even underground artists have their inspirations. Like people like JoJo siwa and demon dice use music to get across a message, but forget that music’s main appeal is the sound. Playboi carti repeats a lot of his lyrics, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t sound good🤷🏿‍♂️. Demon dice can be upset that mumble rap is popular, but every musician in the main stream artist does their homework and know music.

For me a big part of what makes bad music is unoriginality and greed. I mean songs that are just put out with a basic beat, some good looking singer and copy paste lyrics just to throw it into the masses so it generates money. This video made me realize why I really like video game music. By most of the metrics you use to measure how bad a song is, most of them except for annoying and once great artists don't even get the opportunity to show themselves, given most of the music is instrumental. And for once great artists to really do any damage to your view of the music, you often have to be looking really hard, and even then, it's usually not even a problem. Annoying is really the only one that can even be noticeable, and usually an annoying piece's only purpose to punish the player for losing, so it does its job well at worst based on these metrics. This also goes for classical music to often. Now I still think music theory and how well the song portrays what it is trying to portray is still one of the most important metrics as to how good a song is, but aside from that, this video really does a great job at explaining my taste atleast. I hope to see more content like this in the future.

I know they didn't mean it in that way but Woody Allen has been arguably more well known for his crimes against humanity [ie; marrying his adoptive step-daughter, a girl he raised since she was a toddler] than his films since the 1990's. Hihii loved the video and I’m definitely gonna check out more of your content! happy that this came to my recommended page :) I tried to explain another factor that makes songs suck but I still can’t find the right words for it so I’m trying to tell the opposite: one thing that makes a song great in my opinion. (Still dont know how to explain it hehe). But in my opnion songs that last for a lifetime. Songs that you can listen to 30 times on one sitting. And pick it up again after months and be like ” What is this masterpiece?” Songs that give that feeling of listening to a brilliant song for the first time every time you hear it again. Songs with songwriting and music that is timeless and you kinda could not tell thay it was made x years ago cause It feels like it has always been there and always will be there. A song that every time you hear it louder you find more subtle details that make it even greater. Oops i went too far. But you catch my drift? One album thay comes to mind is an absolute classic. The Black Album (Metallica) by Metallica. I have listened to that front to back a thousand and one times and not have gotten enough if it. I remember one car ride my dad was taking me home from a tournament match and we put on The Black Album and i just felt like i had forgotten how damn good it is. Best feeling ever. It felt like i rediscovered the whole album and it felt like a new experience. Music that never gets old is the best music there is. Music that was made to last is the best music there is and i hope in the future instead of some artificial intelligence making mellow pop tunes out of already made songs, we will continue to innovate and create amazing songs that will last a million lifetimes and inspirate younger generations to be even greater. (What was i talking about?)

Was hoping for a Corey mention and you delivered. The stuff that happened to him is tragic and wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. However, the album is still really funny to listen to.

Clicked on it for the topic, and a pretty good one too. Made sense. Not familiar with hardly any of the examples due to us being from very different musical worlds (I am a metalhead), and I wager to guess there is a significant age gap between us, as I lost touch with what is currently popular sometime in my 30s, but I could still follow it very well, so kudos! I WAS familiar with your worst song of all time, though, as Blood on the Dancefloor was part of the MySpace "scene kid" era. You aren't wrong. There is literally a subgenre of black metal committed to praising and promoting Nazism, but those songs aren't aimed at a specific, real life, currently living individual who the singer had personal relations with, and is a child. Vanity is a monster!

I feel like "loving a song even tho it's bad" is a concept that demands a lot more scrutiny before you can get into "why is a song bad?" Like what's the argument for why Temporary Secretary is bad? The song clearly rocks. It has a skronky synth texture which maybe gives a bad first impression, but other than that, what's wrong with it? If you don't make a case for why it's bad, then you have reduced your argument to a tautology, and worse than that, a tautology whose contradictions can be ignored

    The video is extremely flawed.

The biggest flaw of this is that all five categories are way too subjective themselves to even begin to be """"""""""objective"""""""""".
